The moment she was sure Zeferoth had taken cover of any sort. Axis was quick to follow her own advice and do the same. It took a second or two to procure an available spot in which to safely hide. Soon enough though she took a running dive behind a bunched up collection of assorted tables and chairs. It wouldn't be the best choice but it was at least something. She would force herself to kneel down towards the ground. Bending her arms firmly over her head as further precaution. Her hands covered her ear. Even though given the size of the explosion ahead. It was more than likely that the sound would disorientate her sense of hearing. At least she could try and buffer the deafening effects to some degree. Speaking of explosions. It didn't take long before the creeper's overwhelmed their targets. Some men ran, others tried to attack with no avail. The rest were backing away slowly. Unsure of just how to approach the creatures. They were, after all, unlike any other being or animal in the known universe.
Their hesitation to do anything productive would be the trigger. The moment the creeper's got within arms reach of the men that remained. A loud hiss noise like that of a snake became apparent. This was followed by each creeper appearing to expand in overall body mass and shape. All together in unison. They were all swelling up like big walking balloons being filled to the brim and beyond. When their bodies could no longer continue to grow. One by one the creepers would spontaneously combust. Producing a large scale explosion of smoke and fire. An inferno engulfed the restaurant and any men that had still been standing out in the open. While the explosion took place Axis was knocked right up against the floor. The force of the blast enough to knock her from her knees and away. No matter where it took her. She made sure of several things. Eyes closed, ears plugged, and head covered. It didn't matter if she was dragged off. As long as she was taking measures to protect her vitals in the process. As she laid their on the floor. Waiting for the explosion to take it's course and come to pass. Axis prayed that Zeferoth would be able to manage in this kind of situation.
