Radiant Gardens was an ancient world filled with endless possibilities for everyOne, even street rats such as Altair. It wasn't the largest world he had been to by no means, but the spirit of the realm was unmatched by any other.

The dark angel had been dealing with quite the internal struggle as of late and it was beginning to take a true toil on him. It had been a solid week since he had a good nights sleep and a pleasant slumber seemed to be a distant treasure that he would find no time soon.

It was around 9 in the morning on this warm day in the Gardens. Altair was dressed in a white shirt, sleeves rolled up just above his wrist and black pants that followed. His long hair flowed in the wind as the breeze began to pick up once more.

The dark angel found his way down to the courtyards which overlooked a large body of salty water. He found himself soon sitting in a green chair at a nearby table and gazing out at the vast blue seas before him.

"When will my mind stop waging war on itself..."

He spoke softly as his tormented amber eyes looked down at his twiddling thumbs.

Jumping from his Gummi Ship, the fallen one beckoned Nyx to come out with him. Silver eyes showed no intent of a fight...at least, not yet. He was around average height and was clothed in a black tee and black cargo pants. His dagger sheath to Sandhya was belted snugly around his waist.

Nyx floated next to him warily. There were people in this town, which put the Dusk and the man on edge. The fallen angel had sensed something that felt off as of late, but he decided to look around at least. Shops were abundant, and something about this place made him think he was going to run into someone he knew. His thoughts drifted back to his half-brother for a bitter-sweet moment. Silently, he hoped that the kid was okay.

"No!--" Ashlyn bristled as she paced back and forth, her hand held up at her ear. There was a scowl etched across her lips, one that grew deeper as each moment passed. She was on the receiving end of a rather discontenting conversation from one of her advisers. It was hard to focus on the content of his words when the sound of his voice was so irritating. She knew what he was talking about - munny - but he was well out of his bounds to be making ludicrous suggestions about how she should be investing it. His facade was easy to see through, words easy to decipher. Ashlyn cut him off, "If it were up to me, your ass would be off the board. This company can't afford to fall under scrutiny while you continue your back alley dealings. My father may trust you, but I don't." Her voice was low and quiet, residing to a hiss at her last statement, "I wont turn my cheek to corruption."

Ashlyn snapped the device at her ear shut, thoroughly angered. It was nine in the morning and she stood on an empty pathway in Radiant Gardens. To her left was the sand and an expanse of water. Her right, the expanse that made up the innards of the world. In her frustration, Ashlyn would kick off her high heels and trudge into the sand, half walking, half running through the unstable ground. The wind along the water's edge whipped her long, crimson hair in a halo around her head. Her feet would splash into the water ankle deep and, without thinking, she'd hurl her phone into the salty sea, "Damn it!" Her shout was loud enough to attract attention, but she didn't particularly care at the moment.

His eclipse of eternity was short lived. The last time he was seen, Leo was sailing away chasing the horizon one last time. some untold events soon unraveled before him, drawing him back to the main lands...calling him back.

The half wolf was in still young yet he had seen and experienced much in his day. He had faced many sorrows and embraced many heartaches. He had lost many loved ones along the way. All of these things formed together to draw his once tender heart as cold as ice.

The piratic halfling had laid down the leadership of port royal and had set out on a journey of rediscovery. It was a long overdue vacation.

Upon this beautiful morning Leo was wearing a pair of black loose fitting pants followed by a white button down shirt, leading the top few buttons undone. His brown hair was cut short and his beard was trimmed nicely, making him actually look like a gentleman for once in his life.

He had been walking throughout the streets, taking in the sights when his emerald eyes fell upon a red haired angel on the beach. There was something about her, something that seemed vaguely familiar. What was it? He couldn't quite put his finger on it.

For the time being the half wolf made his way to a nearby stand where drinks were being sold. He ordered a glass of lemonade and sat down in a green chair, still gazing out at the constantly crashing waves. The view was so elegant and relaxing.

Ashlyn's chest heaved as she watched the device sail through the air and into the waves. The splash was small, insignificant. Just like the twerp she'd been on the phone with. There was a small swell of satisfaction when the phone had been ruined. At least now she didn't have to deal with anyone else like him for the rest of the day. She was free, if only for a little while. There's likely be beurocratic ramification later, but if no one could get a hold of her, that wouldn't happen now. She'd deal with the scud later. For now, she had a headache to get rid of.

With a great sigh of relief, Ashlyn would give in to the unstable footing of the wet sand beneath her and plop down on her bottom. She didn't care that the expensive pencil skirt she was wearing would be ruined, nor did she care about the shallow fingers of water that pooled and receded around her. It was calming, it had to be. Ashlyn willed the negative ions of the salted air to ease her frustrations.

Still facing the water, she didn't see nor hear anyone behind her. The waves crashing in front of her were loud enough to drown out most of the daily hustle that might be occurring behind her. Part of her didn't want to get up, knowing that she'd have nothing to do for the rest of the day.

The guardian could only see the maiden from behind; her fiery red hair mainly. It was quite obvious that she was upset, evidently with the person on the other line of the phone. Why else would she have tossed the device into the sea?

Leo still remained seated. Playing the observant type was never his strong suit. His attention drifted from the maiden as the editor approached him, taking his empty glass and replacing it with another. Just as the editor turned to leave, Leo caught him by the arm and motioned for him to place a second glass of lemonade on the table.

The piratic jackal slowly arose from his seat, pushing his chair under the table. He grabbed ahold of the two drinks and exhaled as his feet began to journey onto the sands of the beach. It was cold to the touch yet soothing at the same time.

He couldn't help but to think there was something so familiar about this lady. What was it? Who could she be? It was then that he caught a glimpse of her face and his mind was flooded with memories...memories that dated back as far as the Guardians of Restoration.

A mere two feet away from her his mouth opened.

"Lady Ashlyn..." he hoped he didn't have her mistaken. He stood there, ever so still with the drinks still fast in his hands awaiting her gaze.

Sorry. I'm crap. I never go this long without making a post. Here we go..

The sloshing of footsteps in the sand would draw the woman from her thoughts. She must have looked like a wreck, dressed in business formal attire and ruining everything in the water, which would be cause for attention on it's own. Her head would turn, crimson locks still whipping around her neck from the wind, when the footsteps would stop behind her. There was a frown etched into her lips, and even from the profile in which the man would see, she was tired. Ashlyn could have very easily told him off and she'd opened her mouth to do so, but his greeting startled her.

Lady Ashlyn...

At the sound of her name, Ashlyn would adjust herself to look up at the man that had addressed her. Her frustration had dissolved into bewilderment, and she looked up at him just so, "Pardon me? She raised a hand and ran it over the crown of her head, pushing back all the beach blown hair from her face. Her dark eyes would look up at the man, searching his face for the familiarity that he had apparently found in her. There wasn't anything instant, no sudden epiphanies when she studied him over. But maybe there was something.. Something deeply dominant that would begin to awaken..

"I mean-- hi." Ashlyn shook her head, pushing strange thoughts away. She'd stand up, sloppy from the sand and the wind, and maintain her footing in the sand. It was rare for her to ever be on a beach, let alone by open water, "Have we met before?" Her head tilted, crimson eyes squinting slightly. Perhaps she'd ran into him in a cafe? A bar? Somewhere on business? It wasn't that he was entirely unfamiliar. Ashlyn just couldn't put her finger on the moment she may have passed by this man.

Her sense of unfamiliarity came as no shock to the guardian. Of course, it had been the better part of a decade since their destinies had intertwined. Oddly enough, it appeared as though she had not aged a single day since then.

Before speaking, Leo sat upon the sandy shore and ran his fingers through the passing water, watching as it was sucked back into the abyss of the sea before them only to return again soon after.

"You see madam...long ago there was an organization...an organization composed of evil...one whose chaos knew no boundaries. It was a club of mad men, formed upon pure hatred and lust for darkness and power..."

Leo paused for a moment, gazing out at the horizon as he recalled the vicious memories of those horrid and trying times.

"It was obvious in those days that there was no end in sight for the darkness this organization brought forth. So to help aid in the fight for good another organization was formed...the Guardians of Restoration. Perhaps you recall the name..." a slight smirk grew on his face as he emerald eyes coasted back to the red headed maiden beside him.

Kira sighed as he looked around the city. Too many people here, I've lost that feeling. When the angel looked over to the right, he noted two people of interest. They seemed to be conversing, though the human girl appeared uncertain of herself. A smirk bloomed on his face. "Such a wonder, human emotion..." his whisper carried the weight of such irony that he couldn't help laughing slightly.

A few people stared uneasily at him and looked warily still at the Dusk who floated next to him, but he ignored them and simply approached the two people who had piqued his interest. Upon closer inspection, the man who was talking about times of old did not seem to be terribly familiar or completely human, and yet there was something about the man that teased out long forgotten memories of someone else. The memories taunted the angel as he struggled to find his answers, and feeling the dreaded burning sensation in his left eye had begun its onslaught once more, he could only guess that it was going to change color soon. He had begun to wonder if maybe his eye was related to some type of sleeping power within him. As to not startle the lady, he kept his left eye closed and attempted to smile warmly. "Hello, miss, fine day today, huh?" His tones sounded pleasant, but the truth was that the man was only trying to come off as human as possible.

He turned his attention quickly to the man. His right silver eye hardened into that of a glare, and his mouth set into a firm line. Rage seemed to pulse through him, particularly his left eye burned more severely. "You," he said roughly, "I think you may have some answers." his voice was getting colder. "I want to fight you...sometime." He attempted to smile as he said this, but his finger stroked Sandhya's hilt. Any seasoned fighter would know, though, that his stroking of the dagger was merely a habit.

"Guardians of Restoration?" Ashlyn contemplated the organization the man before her spoke of. Even as he sat, and she remained standing, there was a fair amount of attention etched onto her features. Of course, she was the type who was interested in people, even if it were just observance from afar. Studying was just something she did by nature, so everyone she encountered always received an equal audience from her. She wasn't always interested in what people had to say, more so than how they said it, but the man she was in the company of genuinely enticed her. What he spoke of, this.. Guardians of Restoration.. felt important. Ashlyn was, at this moment, unable to connect the dots of her own memories and past, but her senses were able to recognize something of importance.

She felt familiar with the darkness, as well as the Guardians that he described. In truth, she had been somewhat affiliated with both, but Ashlyn didn't even know that about herself. At least, not right now. Right now, what she felt was a bit of confusion. The woman was trying to grasp his words, but it was just hard to get a hold of them. It was like having a name at the tip of her tongue, but being unable to recall it. This struggle would soon be interrupted by the entrance of another man in their little circle on the ocean's shore. Ashlyn's eyes shifted from Leo's smirk to Kira's arrival.

"Mm.. Fine, I suppose.." Her earlier confrontation with her colleague had not yet faded from her conscious. There were still problems to deal with at home, big ones, but they were purely business. Ashlyn rarely let people into the depths of her life, which made a vague for a vague answer in return.

In reality, it wasn't his question to her that was important. This new man seemed to be here for the one that had sat with her on the beach. Silently, her crimson eyes would flick between the two. She had no prior business (that of which she could recall) with either of them. The newcomer had mentioned something about fighting, and having answers. Of course, this would be a mystery to Ashlyn, so she remained silent.

Of course after his brief story Ashlyn still seemed to be unaware of what he spoke of. Perhaps her memories of those days were long gone, maybe they had been wiped away. His heart was heavy yet it was not her fault. This was a strange universe they had been living where anything was possible.

He remained silent for a moment, starring out at the sea before him. He removed a small vile of rum from his cloak. "To lost memories." the pirate muttered as he raised the vile for a toast just before consuming some of the drink.

It was then that another man approached him. He seemed dark, devious and quite puzzling. He spoke of Leo having answers and a possible fight. The pirate smiled, nodding at the new comer as he rubbed the hilt of his weapon.

"Didn't yer mother ever teach ya not to stroke yer sword in public mate?" he managed to say without bursting into laughter.

Leo took yet another sip of the glorious drink in his hand before responding to the dark ones other request.

"If ye think it wise to cross blades wiv a pirate, all I says is ye better come prepared...saavy?"

The sun was setting fast at this point, laying currently upon the surface of the vast sea. How could something so beautiful be places in a world with such torment? He wondered.

Kira heard the man's toast and sneered slightly. It was as though he knew this man from somewhere, even if that place was from his strange memories that would come and go as they pleased. Truth be told, it was rather annoying. At the pirate's comment about his mother, he simply remained silent. If it was a joke, it wasn't funny, and if it wasn't well...what this humanoid did in his spare time was none of the angel's business.

"Pirate, huh. Yeah, think I'm ready as it is." His voice was somewhat condescending, but the pirate could take it as he pleased. Sandhya was out in a flourish, gleaming deadly in the setting sun. Something about this sunset brought back another painful "memory" that he didn't have an answer to. He knew his mother had deceased long ago, but why then, did he see another person's mother dying in front of him with a pain that felt like it was his own? The day was dying, and Kira found pleasure and sadness in it.
