And here they were again. Hollow Bastion.

The repairs to the Castle of Dreams were almost complete, but Alex and Tarsi had run out of materials a long time ago. For a while, they scavenged from an abandoned town they had found, but even that eventually rendered nothing unto them. So now, for their final bit of supplies they touched down in Hollow Bastion. They needed wood, paint, nails, and a new hammer. They'd been using an older one they'd found which finally broke on them, so to continue repairs it was a necessity. They went to the market place in Hollow Bastion, a small shudder overcoming Alexander as they entered. He remembered all the Heartless that were here, all the people that must have been turned. It was also when Etzolix and him had their first 'real' encounter. Perhaps it would have made sense if he didn't trust him, over even hated him. But it wasn't in Alexander's nature to hate, and holding a grudge was a foreign idea to him.

The shudder came, and it went. He and Tarsi were more than capable of picking up the supplies and transporting them. It took a couple hours to gather everything, and that didn't even include loading time, or the time spent bartering quite aggressively with the local merchants. They couldn't find the particular type of wood they needed, so instead of redwood they compromised and went with Oak. It was all very mundane, and after quite a few spent hours they were ready to leave with all their materials. The ship lifted up off of the ground, ready to fly away back to their castle, when suddenly; a small inking invaded Tarsi's thought. It was spreading rapidly, like a virus: "Did we get the hammer?"

Contagious words indeed, spreading the thought too with the realization hitting Alexander in much the same manner as a bus. He made a sigh, before he gave his answer in a tired voice. "Nope," his voice was tied to weights, sinking his thoughts back to Hollow Bastion before the Gummiship had a chance to touch down again. A look of fading happiness to Tarsi showed the he really didn't want to go back, but he'd rather go than make her. The Gummiship landed once more. "I'll be back," he said with a wink. With that, he hopped off of the Gummiship, heading back into the market place.

The data reconstruction to the outside world was unfamiliar to T3.

Where he was used to having simply data bits taken off in Space Paranoids, it was a very different feeling becoming actual mass in the Worlds. Where his metal casing costed him weight, and his whole body could feel real weight pressing down on him. Not the artificial weight of Space Paranoids his AI forced him to believe was there.

And, everyone here was real. Every single person was a user, and none of it was just data given an artificial form... even he himself, now that he was out here, was a reality. "This Unit... exists." He spoke, "Saving discovery in Self fulfillment Folder." His whole body froze as his internal computer processed, then he unfroze. "Save complete, proceeding with the task given to me by my Creator: become a Soldier of Light." He began walking out following the map saved in his Maps/Hollow Bastion folder... the only folder he had for the Maps folder except for Space Paranoids. "Seeking Soldier of Light." T3's memory banks also only pulled up one person: Alexander Edamows. "Searching for Alexander Edamows, Soldier of Light."

With that, T3 began searching Hollow Bastion, starting with the most User heavy area, the market. The amount of users that existed in this one area was astounding, and more than he had ever seen in his life. "I-Internal AI, l-l-l-lagging... c-c-compensating..." T3's walk stuttered as he repeated motions and fell over sideways. "S-s-shutting down Identify-fy-fy-er.exe." Almost immediately after shut down, T3's whole body restarted on a normal operating level. "Restarting Identifer.exe in Safe Mode... complete." He got back up, and scanned the crowd, spotting Alexander.

Quickening his pace he tapped the man on the shoulder. "User Alexander Edamows?" T3 asked, trying to confirm his data banks with voice recognition from the said User.

Alex was deep in thought concerning the location of merchant that would sell him a hammer. It was a concerning conudrum, one that would not be easily solved either. The one he swore was selling hardware was selling fruit. Now he was just turned around in the market, unaware of what to do next. Perhaps it was over by the guys selling sunglasses? It was a shot in the dark, but hey, better than nothing. As he started to move forward, he felt a tap on the shoulder.

"User Alexander Edamows?"

User... he thought. Yes, he recognized his name but had never heard the term 'User' placed before it like a title of honor. He turned around quite suddenly, eyebrow raised to answer the vaguely robotic voice, seeing before him a robotic form. Such an oddity to discover, and it had addressed him by name? "Yes?"

T3 made a quick beep in confirmation as the voice wavelength matched the saved folder. "User Alexander Edamows found." T3 stood at attention, "This Unit is UP1.prot. Though my creator called me T3. He left this Unit with the task of finding the Soldier of Light, Alexander Edamows." T3 moved his hand to point to all of Alexander. "You are the User he sought for me to seek. Reading next instructions..." T3, froze as still as a stone while his memory core processed and pulled up new data. "Instructions given to me from the Creator have tasked me with following you and fulfilling one objective in my purpose. Becoming a Soldier of Light."

T3 stood perfectly at attention again, "I await your orders, User."

Orders? This was a program, clearly. But what was he doing outside of Space Paranoids? Then, what was a Soldier of Light? How did Alexander even manage to fit into that category? No, even further, how did it know Alexander's name? "Who created you?" Perhaps not the best question to ask, but after the series of steps taken in Alexander's mind it was the best one to ask. The figure before him was very futuristic and cyberpunk, typical of most programs from Space Paranoids.

What was atypical was his armament. The thing mounted to his arm didn't seem very dangerous at all, but the inherent properties it seemed to posses indicated otherwise. Even more peculiar was the condition of this program's heart; it either didn't have one, or was experiencing a state akin to total serenity. Perhaps its programming made it desire to follow orders, and as such it had no conflict within itself? Alexander was unsure.

The memory which housed all information T3 could ever know searched through its data banks, searching for an answer to Alexanders question. "Error!" He exclaimed suddenly. "Memory has been tampered with, attempting recovery..." T3 began to have slightly twitchy motions, and once again, his body froze on a rather odd shape, with one arm by his side and hand sticking parallel with the ground, and the other arm parallel the opposite direction. Frozen in the spot, stiff as stone, T3 exhausted his last resource and memory bank. His body went back to attention, "Creator name and location not found. The instructions given to me from the Creator were to follow Alexander Edamows, and become a Soldier of Light."

Loosening up, T3 looked at eye level with Alexander, his head cocked to the right slightly. Noticing Alexander looking it his right arm, T3 immediately replied, "This Unit's weapon is the Prototype Plasma Blade, PPB." T3's weapon activated, and showed Alexander for a brief second before disabling it. "Is there anything else User Alexander Edamows wishes to know?" T3 paused, and added, "Or anything User Alexander Edamows wishes this Unit to do?"

"Well," Alexander said, scratching his head. "You can just call me Alex for starters. No need to be so formal T3." He laughed slightly, still slightly unnerved by his new-found company but not disturbed in the slightest. On the contrary, odd as it was he was actually excited and intrigued by this Program, finding him to be a very interesting discovery. Or rather, discover-er. Alexander, in this case, appeared to be the discovery. "Also, define 'Soldier of Light.' I've never been called that before."

T3 made another confirmation noise, "User Alexander Edamows will now be referred to as Alex. Saving Alex's Preferences... done."

T3 wasn't one to normally access his emotions core, but Alex was a very odd specimen. Humble and a little bit odd, but T3 was not one to question his creators orders. Alex had good intentions, or so his programming told him, and as such, he could easily be trusted and followed.

The first question arose, outside of what T3 was. A Soldier of Light. "This Unit believes a Soldier of Light, is a hero. Protecting the greater good, and helping those in need." T3 then thought of a shorter way to explain it, maybe too much of a generalization, "A Soldier of Light equals a hero of the people. Whether they know the hero, or not."

T3 walked beside Alex's side, keeping its body straightened up. "If Alex has no more questions, this Unit would like to assist in any tasks Alex may wish to assign, or require assistance on."

"Ehh..." Alexander tried to remember what he had come here for in the first place. He needed... a hammer! Yes. T3, could you help me locate a merchant who sells a hammer? I really need one." He looked hopefully at the Program, eager for the assistance.

T3 nodded, "This Unit can help Alex locate a merchant." His maps folder opened back up, and labeled a hardware store merchant just across the street. "Is Alex looking for anything specific? Wooden handle, titanium head, maybe a titanium hammer with leather grips?"

T3 pulled the map back and beeped. "This Unit has found 5 locations that the Creator labeled as 'hardware merchants.' Would Alex like T3 to narrow criteria?"

Alexander shook his head. "Wha?" He was ultra astounded that this program was so... comprehensive, was the word he thought of first. He looked excitedly at this new thing before him, a child examining a new toy or plaything. "A hammer for under 100 munny?"

T3 nodded, "This unit can do better." T3 scanned and narrowed the results. "This Unit found a store selling a hammer for fifty money. However, it is a ways walk." T3 loosened his muscle motors and put them into their proper gears, "Does Alex wish to make this journey? It exceeds a Users measurement of three hundred yards."
