Name: Alexander Carvardukaras (Formerly Edamows)
Aliases: No. I, Dissident King, Alexander the Black
Appearance: Alexander's physical appearance hasn't changed much from a decade ago. He still has his slender and toned frame, and by and large the calm of the recent years has done him favors physically. Alexander's body has grown elegant, as refined and tough as it ever was with a swagger more fitting of somebody who calls themselves the Dissident King, even for reasons that aren't obvious. Even in peace he has kept his body in top form, though perhaps his skin is so pale as to cast doubt on this. His eyes however are a healthy and unnatural electric blue. He stands at a respectable 6'1 in height, with a face that is sharp and slender. His hair has gotten much longer, rolling onto his shoulders.
Personality: Alexander has had a lot of ups and downs since arriving on the Castle of Dreams. His most recent iteration that was public knowledge some years ago was cold cruel, made hard by certain realities he was facing and failing to overcome. Heavy losses weighed on him in those final days before he ultimately vanished for some time, warping his once gentle and refined nature into something malignant. At some point when he returned, he achieved a 'better' state of mind.
This new attitude is a combination of Alexander's lost happy-go-lucky nature as a 'hero'. He is a legitimately altruistic and considerate person, even though he is a little absent minded and self-centered from time to time. He is very loyal to his friends, to his allies, and to those he has made agreements with. Alexander possesses a newly refreshed spirit of self-sacrifice, enabling him to make difficult choices and bear the weight earnestly, rather than simply shrug something off or becoming encumbered by it on the reverse. Heavy loss in his early twenties lent to this nature, where loss and choices mean more to him in the simple making of them than any regrets he could possibly have.
That isn't to say he makes choices independent of other factors- Alexander decidedly makes choices that, with all factors considered, seem to benefit what he calls a common good. Alexander does this in order to achieve a better future, and realizes the horrible fact that he would have to be ready to cast some people out and ally with others to reach that conclusion. If he can tell people, he usually does, and Alexander will naturally pursue other solutions that may exist in order to maximize their benefit for those closest to him as well. He simply doesn't allow that closeness to factor into most of his decisions.
But the above commitment to the 'greater' or 'common good' is revealing, because Alexander's worst traits will come out to enforce it. Alexander is a legitimately caring and altruistic person, it bears repeating. But Alexander has a pretty deeply ingrained mean streak. At minimum he can be a snarky asshole when he gets frustrated or cocky. But at his worst? Alexander is capable of cold-blood murder of even his closest friends if he comes to understand them as an obstruction to achieving the greater good. Alexander will and does commit murder in the name of whatever cause he supports.
On the surface Alexander is quite the friendly, charismatic, and amicable chap. He's very diplomatically inclined, having a decent understanding of when negotiating is viable and when it is not as well as exactly what he can and should concede in a given situation. He meshes well with even those who pose a grave ideological threat to him, actually being quite tolerant and even welcoming of other conflicting viewpoints when the stakes aren't high. Alexander hungers for knowledge, seeking to learn the how and why behind most everything. Indulging in multiple perspectives is but one way he does this.
Alexander's friendliness is present inside his heart just as strongly on the surface, but darker traits wash it out often. That charisma can turn into harsh critique, as Alexander is very observant and makes a lot of mental notes about a person's principles and behavior. Alexander keeps a tally, essentially, for everybody he has met and ever will meet, to see if he will have to kill them sooner, later, or not at all. He will often befriend his targets independent of realizing he is going to attempt to kill them or not, resigning himself to knowledge that he just may have to.

The future is not fair to the past because by definition it has already surpassed it.
