Kyra Lightbringer found herself standing on a brick-lined road. There was a trolley driving by, through there were only a few passengers at this late hour. At least, she assumed it was late. One could never really tell, traveling to new worlds. There were streetlights reflecting off of the bricks beneath her feet, and they sky above was getting progressively darker. The sun was disappearing behind a huge clock tower with bells on either side. She paused for a moment. The colors that the setting sun cast upon the darkened sky were stunning. So this is Twilight Town...
Other than it's name, she didn't know much about this place. She was grateful for Lenneth's aide in her arrival, but she wasn't quite sure what to do next. She wondered if she had really gotten away. Was it so easy to escape death? Then again, she couldn't really call it easy. Her wounded chest still pained her, and her clothes were still covered in blood and sewage from her last adventure. Noticing this, she realized that she should probably find a place to shower. After all, it would be hard to start interacting with people when she literally smelled like feces.
After almost an hour of wandering the streets, she finally came upon an inn. It was a nice little place, all things considered. She could see lights coming from the windows, and hear people laughing.  She walked inside.
As she entered the room, a bell rang above the door. A tall, brown haired young man appeared behind the counter. He was wearing a white shirt with a gold vest. She assumed he worked there. Her assumptions were proved correct, as the man smiled when she entered. It was a crooked smile, but sincere.

"Welcome, Miss. How can I help you?"
Looking down at her blood-stained shirt, his eyes widened. "Are you okay? What happened to you?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine," Kyra replied, grinning. "I, uh... got into a fight with a rather vicious animal." This was true, Cerberus could definitely be described as rather vicious. The man offered her a room, which she gladly paid for and accepted. Of course, she immediately took a shower.

><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><

She ended up staying in that inn for the next few weeks, and she got to know the people pretty well. The man she had met was the son of the owner, who was a jolly old man with white hair and a million stories to tell. He had run the place for years with his son and daughter, who both still worked there. They were extremely nice people. The old innkeeper even offered to let her stay there for for free, provided she protect their establishment from the creatures that occasionally attacked the town.

"You have the look of  a defender about you," he had said. How right he was. She was happy to have people to protect again.

As it turned out, the creatures to which he referred were called Dusks. Kyra found that they appeared most frequently on the outskirts of town, near an old, abandoned mansion. They were highly susceptible to the strikes of her Keyblade, and she found them fairly easy to destroy.  Her wounds had fully recovered by then, and she usually didn't even need her armor.
She found out a lot about this world, as she spent her first few weeks exploring.  The area where she had arrived was called Market Street, where shops of  all sorts of various kinds competed for the attention of passers-by. The shopkeepers were very friendly, Kyra discovered, especially if you bought something. One of these shopkeepers insisted that she see the Clock Tower while she was  in town, so of course she obliged. The tower itself was huge, and one could see almost the whole town from the top of it.
She ran across an area called the Sandlot as well, where some of the boys her age competed in a game called Struggle, and had mock-swordfights with blue plastic weapons. It was here that she earned the respect of some of the local troublemakers. As a swordfighter, she found great joy in playing these games on occasion. Some of the more arrogant fighters had insisted that "girls can't fight." They were proven wrong of course, so they decided it was okay to let her hang around. In a few short weeks, she had explored most of the town.

Kyra liked  it here. She had enemies to fight, kids to hang out with, people to protect, and a place to call home. Hades and his minions were pushed to the back of her mind. After all, she thought. They wouldn't come here.

Twilight Town, a place unlike many in this vast existence. One of the few that suffers in a way unique to others near it. A planet stuck in a perpetual stalemate between the light and the darkness. Those sensitive to such a phenomenon might find the constant struggle between the two elements to be overwhelming at times. The creatures native to this world may even act uneasy as a result. Heartless, nobodies, and the like spring up from time to time in incalculable bursts as a result. At least there are those among the populace that will rise to the occasional to keep the others from harm. A constant balance that is maintained by both volunteers and those that feel obligated to keep things this way.

Despite it's constant place being upon the precipice of disaster, and the fact that both alignments seek this world as either a new home, or as a means of a a final bastion, it is quite the peaceful realm. The wind carries an airy sense of calmness, serenity. None seem to seek to do harm to one another. Hearts do not fall prey easily here despite the dangers lurking in the more desolate sections of this town. But, even armed with that knowledge, the activity that takes place on a daily basis would make this world anything but tranquil. People by the dozens, their species varying, always seem to be in a perpetual state of activity. Even now they move about in tightly packed bunches going from place to place as they see fit.

Most go about their day without a care in the world, looking to pass the time wearing a smile., or with determination dictating their strides. However, with each individual moving about in a peaceful manner, there are those rare little blips moving against the wave of civilians.

Adults frantically trying to get to their jobs, or whatever sales may be happening in the various buildings around them. Some look at their watches and either grimace from how late they are, or if they realize they are cutting it close. Either way, manners seem to have left these people, opting them to shove their way through the crowds. Those new to this world would think that the sun's position in the sky would be the reason behind their cause for alarm. Yet, it does little to deter any of them, in fact most don't even bother looking up. They've grown up on this world knowing that the star is in that state. Content with never knowing what true night or day was. So why bother stressing, let alone acknowledge something natives would view as trivial?

Like ants frantically searching for a purpose all of them move about. None the wiser to the disabled man making his way through Market Street to stop on a nearby bench. Those that would be willing to spend more than a second to look his way would find him to be something out of the ordinary, or at least, his choice of clothing and blindfold would be something to take notice of. After all Twilight Town may be locked in a sunset, but it is still rather warm outside at this time. There isn't a need for such a long coat, or those black gloves and carpenter jeans.

However, hot and cold are terms mean little to Eno, what with being nothing more than a mere shell, the only thing providing him with a means to interact with the living on this planet. An incomplete body from a broken soul, a fitting combination for an undead spirit. No organs to regulate the body, no glands to make him sweat. Even the deep, relaxed breathing is manual to keep up appearances. With things as they are, it'd be little wonder if he stopped entirely and was never noticed. Eno prefers it this way though, to be kept out of the public eye, to go about unnoticed. It made things so much easier on him. No questions, no awkward stares or comments, at least none that he could hear or answer to.

After adjusting the blindfold covering the upper portion of his face, Eno reclines on the bench, allowing himself to smile peacefully. His reason for being here might differ from his actions, but that doesn't mean the husk couldn't take the time to enjoy the day. After all, it'd be many months since he's ben anywhere else other than that damned desert and that desolate cavern. And the only other time the ex-hand has  gotten to have his freedom from his home involved him bringing in a little mage under his guidance.

But, enough about time past, the giant of a man is here on a mission.

A certain individual, one by the name of Lightbringer, has managed to slip away from the clutches of Eno's master: Hades. A courageous soul who represented the norm of her kind. One who embraced the light as her name suggests, and shuns the darkness. Though, it wouldn't be fair to say she didn't have some tolerance for the it, after all some of her associates in the past were bearers of that element. Quite an oddity that pokes a hole in the logic of his savior.

To think, from the warnings the Lord of the Dead gave Eno would lead him to believe otherwise. As though people like Kyra, whether they be woman or man, would slaughter creatures like him without a second thought. It was almost disgusting to picture someone being so bullheaded and one dimensional.

While she definitely wasn't the strongest individual to wield a Keyblade, it wouldn't be fair to say she is the weakest. Even Hades told him that for his first target she'd present a challenge. A direct assault would prove fatal for the husk should he make a mistake, his body is rather vulnerable to the light, in fact the dark that helps keep his body together might act like gas for the fire should he be struck with powerful light magics. Something Eno must take into consideration when going after someone like her.

Just the thought of burning in such a way again sends a very lively shiver down the dead man's non-existent spine. Tartarus was bad enough, the blind knight wouldn't allow anything like it to happen again. He'll use whatever power at his disposal to see it through. But, until the luminescent fighter reveals herself, any and all possibilities will remain as they are. Through his rare “sight” he will find her.

After all, even to a “blind” man, someone who shines with light so bright will be easy to find. All he has to do is wait here. If what his master says is true, she'll move through this area on her way to the old abandoned mansion at the broken wall. Heartless love to make their little nests there after all, and like every keyblade warrior she must go and cull the tide before it can gain any real power. Like a mindless little puppet she'll let her element dictate her actions...

"Hey, Kyra," the inkeeper's son, Alan, waved as she came through the door. She was just returning to the inn after another day of exploring.

"Hey, Alan." She smiled in reply. "How's it going?"

"Fine. Just heard some weird rumors though. Sounds like some of those Heartless things are starting to appear on the edge of town. You'd better go take them out. After all, we don't keep you around for your shining personality..."

"Sure." She laughed, punching him playfully in the arm. "You just like getting to tell someone what to do. Still, I suppose I should earn my keep."

Of course, she would have helped out whether they let her stay or not. Heartless posed a threat to innocent people. She would never let anyone get hurt when she had the chance to prevent it. Turning again, she walked out the door.
As she'd previously observed, most of the enemies that appeared in this town seemed to spawn from the spot in front of the abandoned mansion. She headed toward there now. She walked with determination, but not so much that she didn't acknowledge the people around her. She greeted citizens she knew, and smiled politely at the ones she didn't.
As she walked, she noticed a strange-looking man sitting on a bench. He was wearing a blindfold and a trench coat, strange attire for the area, and his form radiated with darkness. That kind of power meant that he was probably some kind of warrior. Regardless, she had a job to do. She smiled and waved politely to him as she passed.

“W-what?” Eno mutters, utterly bemused. It happened so quickly that if he didn't have the site he's been gifted, the spirit would never have noticed. He was so focused on scanning the crowds from a distance the husk never thought to the one he might be looking for would pass right by him. It's as if she believes him to be nothing more than just another member of the crowd. Such audacity for someone who's managed to escape such a wrathful God. Eno would have to take her down a peg or two before bringing her back to his master. Seriously, she just moved right on by him seemingly without a care, the Lightbringer even waved at him as she passed.

Looking upon Kyra's flames reveal that they remain at a steady flicker, with no real variation. The ex-hand would chock her lack of fear to her being unable to detect the darkness, but from what Hades revealed that isn't the case. She's perfectly capable of feeling the dark. The husk's body is literally held together by it, the blackness should be overpowering for the senses. That in and of itself should be intimidating, but apparently it meant nothing to the little teen passing by him.

Regardless, that situation didn't matter, he'd found his target, there is no longer a need for him to sit there idling reliving past events in his mind.

While he kept his face forward to keep up appearances, he began to concentrate on the well of power within his shell. Manipulating the spirit to the point of splitting isn't an easy task, it requires concentration, the willingness to separate one's very being, and with Eno still being fairly new to the concept, it was still quite a task for him to pull off. Having stopped the false motor functions only helps to quicken the process, but not by much.

It's a pain, a dull ache that slowly rises as the very thing that keeps him tethered to existence itself is slowly being pried apart. He didn't need to take off a chunk, only a little bit is needed for the task at hand, but Eno has yet to fully comprehend just how to measure his soul. Like his first time in front of his master he has no idea how much to remove in order for it took work. If he takes too little it'll simply grow too weak and return to his body, leaving his stamina lower with nothing being accomplished.

However, if allowed to sit there and focus, the husk can remove enough to get the job done. As every second ticks on by he's forced to bite his lip harder and harder to keep from crying out. Such an agonizing sensation, as though something has set fire to his very insides. But, Eno has to endure, he can't be allowed to call attention to himself and interrupt his spirit magic. Even accomplishing nothing could result in a very dangerous situation for him. The ex-hand could remove too much, that in turn could weaken his body to the point of decomposing. The last thing the servant would want is to be forced back to his master due to his own incompetence...

Kyra moving further away from his detection range only adds to the stress, until finally, the cooling relief comes in the form of his husk numbing, and the green ethereal mist leaving his now open mouth. It only makes it a few inches away from his face before dissipating completely. To those who would wish to take a look, they'd be disappointment to find nothing. To the untrained eye, Eno's release would seem like a normal breath, but to those capable of not only sensing spirits, but seeing them as well, would quickly notice the snake-like, shapeless mist slithering its way a few yards above their heads.

It's still an odd thing to experience, this spell. Something capable of splitting the senses to encompass two beings, making the husk feel the cold air above, and the hard ground below his feet. Every so often his view would shift between his severed soul and his husk, letting him cover more area than the typical human or even those who've ascended past those limits. There aren't many who could pull off such a technique, a luxury only available to those who learned how to use their very life as a weapon.

The white fire, burning bright within her stark white outline acts as a beacon of sorts among the rainbow-like hues of the others. It's quite unique, reflecting the main source of her power rather than what she could be feeling. That's the only reason he is able to pick her out from the crowd. To have flames like that, a soul that is so vastly different among a sea of others, you would have to be something or someone out of the ordinary. In this case, it couldn't be anyone but her. It makes for a very easy task to track for the piece of Eno snaking right above her head.

Kyra's flames remained at a steady flicker, with no real patterns. At least, that's what the servant of darkness is able to perceive. As of right now she held no nervousness, not even a single hint of suspicion. Seeing this, the husk gets to his feet, traveling many yards behind her. With a part of the ex-hand now keeping a watching gaze on her, he could be as far back as he wanted. At this rate if she were to turn around she wouldn't find him, after all with her having gained so much distance there are a few buildings separating the two from sight, well, her sight of him anyway...

His feet are deathly silent among the populace, providing little to no sound as he casually moves through the individuals around him. At the rate he's moving, if her destination truly is the abandoned mansion, he'd be a few minutes behind. If she should run into any problems he wouldn't get there until the ending bits of any confrontation. Unless of course she's swarmed by heartless, or if she's incredibly skilled with her weapon.

Kyra continued onward toward the mansion. As she walked, the darkness coming from the man on the bench grew fainter. It was strong, but there was no point in being suspicious. She remembered Lenneth, who had emitted a darkness so strong that it was almost sickening. Yet he had been her ally. Whoever this guy was, he most likely had nothing to do with her. After all, she had only been here for a couple of weeks. That wasn't long enough to make enemies. Besides, he hadn't hurt anyone, so it wasn't really her problem. At least, this was how she convinced herself to focus on the task at hand.

She hummed as she walked, wondering what sort of Heartless she was going to encounter. Probably Shadows... she thought. It was always Shadows. Nothing too powerful had appeared in the time she had spent on this world. She supposed she should be happy about that, and in a way she was. It meant there was less of a threat to the people.

Still, she seemed to be falling out of practice. Mock-fighting in the sandlot was fun, but it provided little opportunity for improvement. Most of her opponents there were teenagers with no real fighting experience. She tried to remember a time when she had been like that, oblivious to the evils of the world. She couldn't quite recall.  Darkness had made itself a part of her life for so long. She fought it as well as she could, but it was there. Even knowing this took some of the innocence out of life. She prayed none of those kids would find themselves in her situation.

She finally reached the front of the mansion, stepping off of the road onto the green lawn. The Heartless appeared before her almost immediately, as they often did. She wasn't sure whether it was the light she emitted that attracted them to her, or the key-shaped weapon that she wielded. Either way, it was convenient. So long as they came after her, they were less likely to attack the citizens of the town.

As expected, her foes were mostly Shadows. There was some variety this time, a few fire-casting beings hovered above her. Still, these were not a huge threat. She jumped up into the air, striking the enemies with her Keyblade. After a few hits they vanished, shattered by the weapon. It never ceased to amaze her how effective it was against  these creatures. She didn't bother summoning her armor. What was the point?

She sighed as she slayed the last of the shadows, letting her blade disappear in a flash of light. She liked it here, but she missed the thrill of a real battle. She missed fighting alongside powerful allies, against world-threatening foes.

She shook her head. Seriously, how selfish can I be? As long as the people were safe, it didn't matter how nostalgic she felt. In fact, it didn't matter at all how she felt. What mattered was that the threat was gone now.

She had no difficulty in finishing off those heartless. What with their class being the lowest, their attacks were slow, easy to predict. It took Kyra little effort to move around the red hued fire users when they came into the fray. Frail little creatures that'd present a small threat to a warrior like her. In fact, the husk is sure that even small kids could have beaten them if they were to wield a keyblade. Quite sad, really, to have creatures with such potential bring about disappointment to those looking for an inkling of a challenge. Oh well, it's not Eno's problem. With him allying with the likes of Hades, someone whose worked with the one who controlled these monsters in the past, the ex-hand was safe by proxy. The Heartless wouldn't interact with him in a negative way, and he would be the same with them. So long as he didn't start a fight, there wouldn't be one.

Parts of the grass affected will maintain their blackened tint and smoky scent from the fire spells, the only way one could even tell a fight took place. Then again, that's how they are, aren't they? They come suddenly, and when vanquished leave nothing behind. In a way Eno pitied them, when their bodies dissipate into nothing, that's it. Whatever instinct that drove it ends there and the core that made them is set free. Dark Animals, running only on instinct, doing everything they can to survive. Sadly, their survival would depend on corrupting the hearts of others, hence why individuals like Kyra are allowed to exist in the first place.

But, despite hardly receiving a challenge, these instinct driven creatures got pretty close to hurting the warrior. Could she perhaps be getting sloppy in her technique? Or is she not taking them seriously at all? Either way, the ex-hand would have that answered soon enough. His order ring clear and loud in his empty head: capture the lost soul by any means necessary. Though, it'd be fair to say that Eno has his own objective in mind. This Kyra, the light bringer, is able to move around as though she were among the living. Unlike Eno, she didn't require a shell in order to survive, and upon looking at her it was as though she were actually living. How is it that she can do that, but he can't? Does Tartarus have anything to do with it? Who knows.

The soft crunch of dead leaves carries through the open air as the rest of him makes its way up the forest path. Eno's other consciousness comes to a stop at a nearby tree, allowing the portion he removed to rejoin the main host, completing him once again. It enters through the same way it left, his open maw.

Upon swallowing he clears his throat, trying to alert Kyra to his presence if she didn't sense him already. Leaning against a nearby tree he crosses his arms and waits, the chains that bind him slinking softly along the inside of his coat sleeves...

(Chains of Hades activated)

Kyra froze. She sensed something in the trees behind her, something dark. More Heartless perhaps? No, the force of this darkness was too great for any of the beings she had just fought. Whatever it was, it was strong. For a moment she found herself hoping it was an enemy, more of a challenge than these frail creatures whom she had just slain. Of course, she realized how ridiculous this was. The young defender could never wish for something that would be a threat to the people of this world simply because she was bored. She dismissed the thought as soon as it came. Turning around, she identified the source of the darkness.

There, leaning against a tree, was the man from the bench. She remembered the power she had felt emanating from him as she passed by, though he hadn't appeared to acknowledge her. Had he followed her here? She doubted that. She'd never seen this man before today. Perhaps he had come for the same reason she had. She knew that she was not the only warrior on this world, and this was the most common spawning point for creatures such as the Heartless she was fighting. The man cleared his throat as if to get her attention.

Kyra smiled as she looked at him, but summoned her blade to her side. She hated jumping to conclusions, and wasn't about to attack without provocation, but it was still entirely possible that this darkness-bearing man posed a threat to her. Though he was blindfolded, he appeared to be able to see her. At least he knew where she was. She wondered how it was he could do this. Perhaps he could sense Light as she could sense Darkness? Anyway, she couldn't very well ignore him. He seemed to expect a response.

"Hey there,"
She waved politely, keeping her blade in hand. "Can I help you? If you're looking for the Heartless, I'm afraid you're a bit too late."

The undead servant can easily see the dread creeping up the tips of her flames, causing them to spasm wildly. Because of it, Eno already knew she detected him before she even laid eyes on him. So slow on the draw, she really is getting sloppy. Perhaps she spent too much time living a lazy lifestyle of wiping out weak creatures. Something like that could play into the husk's advantage. However, she didn't hesitate to summon her weapon, meaning she knew how to identify a threat. It'd be best not to take this woman lightly. One mistake could spell certain doom for this body.

He knew some of the risks that much was certain. His master warned him of his body's reaction to light magic at work. He could literally grab a keyblade, but when it came to actual spells his body would definitely let him know just how bad of an idea it is to be around it. Unfortunately, that means he'll be ignoring the only instinct for survival his shell can give him. Oh well, he can just end her before she can do too much damage, well, that was the plan at least.

Hades informed him that there were many ways to bring Kyra back, killing her being one of those conditions. Another would be to simply bind her to his husk with the chains, then kill himself to bring them both back to his domain. Or, he can just tie her up and carry her over his shoulder. Sadly, the third option seems to be the less likely to work given how it'd come off as somewhat of a rule breaker to the populace here in Twilight Town. So, the first two options will have to be utilized, not that Eno minded of course. It'd been a while since his fight with Arden, The Black Knight, and he was itching for something more.

He would not use cheap lies to capture Kyra, he'd allow her the fighting chance he desired to give.

Having been acknowledged, he makes his way over to the girl, his feet almost silent upon the grass despite his apparent height and weight.

“You can help me, Kyra.” Eno says, foregoing subtlety, “you've been pretty slick so far, but your luck has to run out some time.” As he summons more chains under his coat, he can feel the weight slowly being lifted off of him. He isn't in range yet, but with the gate being her only way to go he wouldn't have to worry about that for much longer. Twenty yards is a lot larger than one expects after all...

He knows my name! The young warrior gripped the hilt of her Keyblade tighter as she brought it out in front of her. So this man had followed her here. But why? She'd done nothing to him, at least as far as she could remember. Then again, with her messed-up memory, that wasn't saying much. Still, she couldn't imagine having done anything that would make someone want to track her down and kill her.

Obviously, he was looking for a fight. What else could "your luck has to run out sometime" mean? There was something else he said that bothered her though. He said something about her being slick, but she generally faced things head-on when at all possible. Slick implied slippery, as though she had gotten out of something that should have a hold on her.  She wasn't the type to run away. In fact, the only thing she had run from lately... of course!

"Hades!" she exclaimed. "Did Hades send you?"

Mocking the god of the dead probably hadn't been the wisest of decisions, but Kyra hadn't expected him to send someone after her here. Whoever this was, he had a lot of power. She stepped back slowly, attempting to maintain her distance. She began to glow brightly, her armor materializing around her. On the bright side, she thought wryly, I may have a real challenge on my hands.

“Hit the nail on the head,” the husk taps his temple for emphasis. Again he continues to walk forward, trying to close the distance. Like a little unknowing sheep she continues to back up. It's not as though the ex-hand blames her, he is quite intimidating. It doesn't take a pair of eyes for him to be able to see that fact. The scars lining his face, lips, and chin only make the staggering height difference worse. In fact, the closer he came, the more he began to realize he could probably lift her with little difficulty, that is before light began to assault his limited vision. Bright beams of light shine through his gaze, forcing him to bring an arm up to block its brilliance.

What an annoying element. Were Eno in his real body, instead of this blasted shell made of earth and darkness, such a show might not have been as blinding. Looking upon her outline now, the husk can find a few subtle, very subtle in fact, differences. She seems bulkier somehow, her outline now encased in something. Amor perhaps? He couldn't really tell, it did nothing more than give some slight detail to the outline. Intricacies like doors, windows, and the like were still invisible to his eyes, but this protection and weapon were clear as day thankfully. Regardless, it didn't matter, from what Hades was able to show her fight with Cerberus would have been her demise had she not received assistance from some dark wielder. There's nothing to worry about. Just stick to your strategy and everything shall turn out fine.

Kyra is still backing away, so as far as the shell knows, the advantage is still his.

“Unfortunately, my master doesn't like it when souls wander about on their own,” he holds his hand out to her before adding, “so, I'm going to give you an opportunity to come quietly,” he smiles, revealing his pearly whites, “I'd rather not make your face match mine.”

So it was Hades after all. At this point, she wasn't exactly surprised. He'd sent armies of skeletons, a three-headed beast, and now this guy. Seriously, she thought. Doesn't the god of the dead have something better to do? She recalled how much she had despised Hades during her time in the Underworld. Not only was he the one in charge of that miserable place, but he was so annoying! Always going on about destroying his nemesis, and having fiery temper tantrums when things didn't go his way.  Of course he'd never actually admit fault in any of these failures, choosing instead to torture his underlings, who had done nothing to deserve such treatment. Such injustice was entirely intolerable to Kyra, even when inflicted upon the minions of Hades. She didn't regret calling him an overconfident jerk.

"Guess he's not too happy I killed his dog, huh?"
She smirked. She figured that Cerberus was back in his old position by now, fully healed and standing guard at the gates to the Underworld. At least she hoped so. After all, the dog had only been following orders, and she didn't want his pain to last any longer than absolutely necessary. "Cerberus is okay though now, right?"

Kyra continued to back away. At this point she was not afraid, knowing that she would have to fight him, but saw no other option than to continue moving back. It was against her moral code to strike first, especially against what appeared to be another human being. Strangely, though the tall man was blindfolded, he raised his arm as if blinded by the light she was emitting.  As he approached, she saw the scars that lined his face. She wondered what this man must have gone through to earn himself so many wounds. Had Hades done this to him?

She shook her head at the offer to avoid a similar fate. There was absolutely no way in hell (or outside of it, as she hoped would be the case) that she could go back quietly. Out here was where she was needed. She couldn't spend the rest of eternity down there with nobody to defend. She felt the back of her armor hit the metal bars of the gate. She could retreat no longer. Holding her blade out in front of her, she continued to talk as she searched for an opening.

"Thanks, but no thanks. I'd rather look like that than have to sit through another of Hades' monologues. Seriously, if I have to listen to him rant about Hercules for one more second, I swear I'll kill myself! Not that that would really help anything at that point..."

Funny how Kyra can taunt her captor when she doesn't realize the sheer gap in strength. It would be almost adorable, were it not for Hades' righteous fury at having his dog's soul swimming through the River Styx. Thankfully, with him being the guard for the entirety of the Death God's domain, as soon as his soul was retrieved his body essentially regenerated around the soul, giving him his appearance again. But, not without a few wounds, sadly some of his injuries bore into its very soul, and unlike Eno, the three-headed dog is capable of healing from these. A special privilege for those in that animal's position. Eno couldn't help but feel a bit jealous of his associate.

He couldn't help but smile wider when Kyra's back reached the gates, and with him moving in to position, she just opened herself up for attacks from behind. Eno might not even have to fight her after all. As he brought his right open palm up, black flames spring to life in the center of it. Slowly but surely the ball of flames grows in size and intensity until the entirety of his palm is consumed in its wild flickering. Every so often purple sparks of light arc across the fire, further showing off its dark properties.

But the funny thing of it is, this isn't even an attack at all. This is him merely calling upon Tartarus to provide a distraction. Should he actually fire this spell at her, it'd simply hit her armor and dissipate, but it's not as though she could know that. As far as the husk is concerned she's assuming he's readying for an attack, which isn't the case at all, at least not with this spell. Eno tries to keep her attention on him, while he does this the brick laden portions on both sides of the gate begin to shimmer in an odd pattern akin to the surface of water being disturbed by an outside force.

“The dog is fine, nothing a dip in the River Styx couldn't fix,” He raises his voice to carry throughout the area, and also to try to cover up the clink of the wrought iron chains as they slip through the points in space on the gate walls. The ends of these chains begin to morph, as though they themselves were melting. The ends manipulate their forms to suit the needs of the wielder: two short swords, their tip pointed at Kyra's sides.

Like snakes they slither about in their portals, the swords acting as their heads, ready to strike on command. With a flick of his left wrist, the chains within break apart, the top portion forming a grey sword, it's steel grey blade four feet in length. To think she's starting to speak now, while he opponent is getting ready to strike. Her monologue it only adds to muffling the noise going on around her, she's digging her own grave and she doesn't even realize it. Soon two more blades on the ends of chains take their place alongside the other two, increasing the size of the portals.

“Oh don't worry, with what's happening now, he isn't ranting about Hercules anymore,” not wishing to waste the opportunity he adds, “however, that's the least of your worries.” He dissipates the flames in his hand, then snaps his fingers. Immediately the blades behind her thrust, their tips aimed at various points of her body. Two aim for her temples while the other two have prioritized her hips.

Kyra felt the blades before she saw them, small points of darkness flickering at either side of her. While they appeared, she kept her eyes forward, continuing to talk. Let him think he had her fooled. As what she had expected to be a spell dissipated in the hand of the dark being, her reflexes took over. She dropped to the ground and rolled forward, narrowly missing the tip of one of the swords. Another struck the shoulder of her armor, but she managed to avoid any serious damage during the first attack.  Still, the four blades posed a serious threat, combined with the dark magic her foe appeared to be capable of using. As the chains flew behind her where she had been standing mere seconds before, she stood to her feet.

LIGHT SHIELD

A field of light formed around her , ready to annihilate any darkness it touched. This would ward off darkness attacks, at least for the duration of time that she could hold it up. The man was obviously a formidable opponent, seeing as he could control four weapons simultaneously. No longer obligated to hold back, she charged forward, swinging at the chest of her enemy.

In spite of Eno setting up an ambush, it seems like Kyra is perfectly capable of detecting darkness no matter how large the source is. Because of that she is able to roll forward and dodge the attacks completely, but not before one of the blades managed to land a glancing blow on her armor. Were she at her best she might have dodged them all, or maybe it was her armor weighing her down? Such a thing could provide Eno with an advantage this little keyblade warrior wouldn't expect. The more his opponents weigh themselves down, the faster Eno can become. In his life as the Tyrant's Hand, he'd faced many adversaries slowed down by weighted platemail. Sure, it made them harder to harm, but their armor always had a weak point. However, without his eyes, he couldn't utilize such knowledge against Kyra. He would have to rely on the weight slowing her down alone if that's the case.

With her little maneuver in progress he charges forward, bastard sword at the ready to come down in a vertical slash. But, when she got to her feet, her bright light comes to be yet again, it's almost maddening at how luminescent this girl can become! The husk is stopped dead in his tracks, forced to cover his eyes due to the light. As though her armor weren't enough, she's managed to encase herself in a shield too.

And unlike the armor, this dome surrounding her, it had an adverse affect on the shell. As she readied her counter attack he could feel heat begin to rise in his form, only growing hotter the closer she came. Could she truly be capable of harming the ex-hand by simply being too close to him? Nonsense! There's no way she can hold that much light in such a tiny body! In spite of his thoughts, he can't ignore the agonize flames that spring up within as he raises his blade to meet hers.

He ends up meeting with yet another surprise...

Sparks fly from his blade as it collides with the shield rather than the keyblade!

“What!?” Is all Eno manages to shout before he desperately tries to get back from what's to come next. Sadly, the shield took him by surprise.

The keyblade cuts across his body. A sharp cry of agony escapes him as he looks to move away. To keep Kyra from following up he jumps back out of her range dismissing the portals upon the gates sides as he does so. The servant of darkness then jumps yet again to gain distance. As he's doing so, he reopens the points in space in the area between him and the light bringer.

Again four chains launch themselves from the portals, each intending on striking the shielded foe. All of them aiming for the center of the shield relative to Eno's position. Should Kyra stay the course all would strike the area simultaneously. Eno hopes it'd do some good, perhaps having the shield receive constant damage would cause it to disperse? It was worth a try, and at least this might give him the opportunity to recover from Kyra's blow. Though, if anything, having the burning sensation dissipate was a relief in and of itself.

Instead the fire now seemingly rages across his new wound, causing him to clutch a hand to it instinctively. He's thankful to find that his own touch doesn't add to the pain the body is already experiencing. In spite of that, there's nothing to stop the sand from pouring in small lines down the front of his coat. The light is already getting to work on his body, causing it to break down into the elements that made it up, even hairline wisps of smoke can be seen emanating from the cut. To think such a profound effect could be felt from this sort of damage. It isn't even that deep of a wound! If he were any slower just how much would it have done?

It's as Hades said, he may never experience breathing again, to feel fatigue from combat, or sweat as a result of it. Normal weapons may damage, but the pain inflicted will be numbed to the point of near non-existence, but when it comes to magical weapons, especially ones made of light, it's going to hurt just as much as it would were he alive. A double edged sword to an already damaged form. Having no eyes to work with is bad enough, but to add this to the pile is just plain torture!

He keeps his attention on Kyra rather than his wound, he can't let her get that close to him without punishment again...

Again the man covered his eyes as her shield went up. Light seemed to have an adverse effect on him. This was something Kyra could use to her advantage. As she charged forward, his blade came down to meet hers. She braced herself to block the oncoming blow, but it did not land. At least, it did not land as she expected it to. Instead, the blade was stopped by the field of light that surrounded her, The man's whole body seemed to be affected by it. It was as if he himself was made of darkness. He was apparently as shocked as she was, as he let out a cry of surprise before attempting to regain his bearings.

Kyra did not waste the opportunity, slashing at his chest. The man yelled in pain before leaping back out of her range. He moved very quickly, it seemed. Or perhaps it was she that moved slowly. While she was grateful for the defense her armor provided, it did have it's downside. It greatly reduced the speed of her movement. Still, if the need arose, she could always dismiss it, albeit a dangerous option. She ran towards the enemy as fast as her armor would allow, determined to strike again while she still had the upper hand.

She felt the chains crash against her shield as she pressed onward, causing her to falter for a second. The light surrounding her flickered for a moment, and she grunted under the effort of keeping it up. Still, she kept her eyes on her foe. He looked relieved to have gained some distance, as though her very presence caused him pain. He bled from the wound that her blade had left in his chest, although as she got closer, she realized that "bled" was not the right word. For it was not blood that came forth from his body, but sand. Perhaps this servant of the Underworld was not even human? She probably shouldn't have been surprised by this, considering it was Hades who had sent him.

Now the chain's stand between her and her target, She does her best to avoid them as she moves forward. The energy she had to expend to keep the shield up increased with each  attack. She began to swing at the chains as they descended upon her, trying mainly to get them out of the way so that she could go after her real target.

The keyblade warrior repeats her same strategy, a simple and predictable thing. Did Kyra believe that just because her shield provided her with a means of keeping the husk away that meant she was winning? Laughable. Without the armor, he could see things playing out more in her favor, he watched her fight while wearing nothing except her normal attire. Her speed could potentially rival his, she may even be faster than him if she went without. But it's weighing her down, and her stamina ticking away in an attempt to keep her shield up she might end up tiring herself out before long. All Eno has to do is maintain his distance and she'd run out of steam in no time.

The blades on his chains were already doing some of the work for him. With each powerful blow her shield starts to flicker momentarily. While it seems she can repel the darkness, extended beatings would take its tole on her, making Kyra have to exert more stamina to stay protected. Something else to work out in Eno's favor, especially since him bringing forth his chains didn't come at much of a cost. He could definitely keep this up for as long as he needed.

However, despite the chains disrupting her, the lightbringer is still able to move about. Her protection is more than enough to keep the husk's attack at bay for now. In fact, she's more than able to still have some semblance of speed, managing to move around some of his strikes in order to advance to wards Eno. In spite of that though they're still more than able to strike the back of her shield as she moves, it's not as though they are in range for only a single blow. With attacks that miss the first time, they come around again to strike her from behind in an attempt at a second blow. If she didn't watch her back she'd find herself to be attacked on two sides.

That would prove to be of little difference, her keyblade and shield are able to create a temporary path in front of her. The weapon being strong enough to shatter a fairly good length of chain connected to one of the swords. It hits the ground with a sharp clang, unmoving aside from the occasional spasm of the chain. Almost immediately a new chain would replace the one on the ground, bringing up the total to five.

In a dull display, Eno dismisses the sword in his hand. The process of which is nothing more than the weapon itself break down into small steel grey fragments, dissipating into dark smoke before the pieces even touch the ground. With the process complete a six sword on chain joins the other five around Kyra creating a hexagonal perimeter around her. If she's unable to stop them she won't get any closer to her target, he'd make sure of that. Now all five swords on links surround her, each “neck” and “face” striking in a way similar to a hydra's.

While Eno watches Kyra swing at her targets, he stands there with his hands in his pockets, a smile lining his features. He can almost ignore the burning light searing the cut on his chest.

The chain-wielder was apparently capable of attacking with six weapons simultaneously, an impressive feat by any standards. Kyra's shield flickered rapidly under the constant barrage of attacks.  With each strike, she felt it weaken. She doubted it would last much longer.  She staggered forward a few more steps before the chains forced her to cease her advance. It hurt now, the pounding of the blades against her field of protection. Slashing at the links behind the weapons, she tried her best to keep them at bay. While she could break the chains, another would always attack from behind. Eventually she paused to scan for an opening in the hexagon of peril.

Kyra grimaced, watching closely as they came down upon her. The shield was going to give out soon, of this she was certain. Surely there was some way to avoid being killed once that happened. There was simply no conceivable way that she could avoid all six. Even though she could sense where they were coming from, she simply wasn't fast enough to avoid every strike. Unless...

The shining white armor that surrounded her split off and dematerialized, leaving tiny sparks in the air surrounding her. It was a risky move, considering the dramatic loss in her defensive capabilities, but it was the only way she could see that she could avoid a direct hit. Her skin glowed brighter now with the anticipation of what was to come. Clearly, her opponent was the stronger fighter of the two. If she were to lose, she could be dragged back into the Underworld, and she suspected that escape would not be quite so easy a  second time.

As the chains turned on her once more, Kyra let the shield fall. Perhaps it was due to her increased speed, but his attacks seemed slower now. She jumped to the left of the first chain's trajectory, landing in time to roll clear of the second. Still, she was worn from the effort of maintaining the shield spell for as long as she had. She barely had time to raise her blade before the third chain made it's move. As it met with her blade, it looked at though it might try to wrap itself around it. She let her Keyblade vanish, and the chain fell to the ground, while she leaped backward to avoid the fourth one. As the last two chains came in, she jumped into the air. The light that emanated from her left a streak in the air as she rose, which vanished after a second.

She re-summoned her blade, swinging at the link of the chain that followed her.  Looked over at her opponent, who appeared to be smiling, she found herself smiling as well. Although she didn't know if he could see it through his blindfold. He seemed very sure of himself, a problem that Kyra was quite familiar with. Now this, she thought. This definitely qualifies as a real challenge.

The keyblade warrior appears to be having trouble despite having the shield. Perhaps Kyra isn't used to fighting someone capable of multitasking to such an extent, to attack her from six different angles at once. The flickering magics, along with her body straining from every blow can attest to that. Even through the light ean see the light bringer strugling under the punishment. It's as though his blades were actually damaging her now rather than simply trying to invade her defenses. Could she really be so connected to her power that hurting it would hurt her too?

Still, while she's on the defensive, she's able to make some efforts at counter attacking. Her blade does wonders against his dark based weapons, sending hairline cracks along the links, threatening to shatter at any powerful contact. Were it not for the constant abuse keeping her attention she could definitely shatter the chains. If she were to succeed that'd end up bad for the servant of darkness. The husk can't allow her to let her think she can escape, those thoughts would only strengthen her resolve, leaving his tactics to be nothing more than a mere annoyance. He's gotta keep her in the mindset that she can't take the offensive role. Tartarus forbid she manages to get close to him with that shield again.

It's when they truly begin to shatter does Eno begin to worry. He's now having to replace them every time she turns to attack another sword causing her grief. It's a bit difficult, but the ex-hand is able to twist the chains into positions that allow them to parry, leaving her to have to change her straegy should she wish to sever their chains. However, it's not going to work for every one of them, she's just proven that by slicing through yet another.

He has to keep her in this cage of blades at all costs. With each cut she's probably gaining confidence. Suddenly, Eno forces his weapons to speed up their attacks, causing her to grimace. The small hope of fighting back is stamped out! The amount of flickering increases to the point where it looks like it's about to fade completely. She may be fast, but she's not able to handle every single cut. All it will take is this constant stream and she'll be done soon. Once that light falls he'll abuse her body to where even the thought of moving will be too painful for her. His master never specified on how her condition should be before Eno returns her.

There it is, his chance! The bulky qualities of her outline were starting to dissipate as well, it's only a matter of time.

The shield disappears as his chains went in for the kill. But, to Eno's surprise, she seems faster than before, much more in fact. She avoids the first, avoiding the second's follow up completely. Aiming his swords with his open palms he tries to keep up. The third is block with her keyblade, but the rest are following right behind it while the one blocked tries to constrict her weapon. Realizing this she dismisses her weapon and avoids the fourth strike.

The husk is losing his paitence with her, so using the last two to surround her on two sides he has them both stab simultaneously, which forces her into the air, and out of harm's way. While she's able to leave a thin trail of light in her wake, the little show means little to her assassin, who's keeping his eyes on her rather than what she can leave behind.

It's surprising to see that Kyra's legs are quite powerful, able to launch her high into the air, but it's not enough. There's no way that'd be the means for her to escape, he wouldn't allow it. As the ex-hand reaches down to the earth, a portal in space appears at his feet. Letting his hand sink into it's depths his hands wrap around the ends of all six chained blades.

If this little brat thought she'd get a break from Eno she'd be wrong, dead wrong. As he lifts them out of the portal they start to retract, giving themselves less play until each is no more than a foot in length. By putting three in each hand he gives them a means to properly wrap around all of them for this next attack. With his traget seemingly unable to maneuvur in the sky he begins to spin as fast as his body would allow, making his features a blur to the naked eye. The chained blades spin with him.

The undead spirit comes to a sudden stop, letting the force of his spinning launch the blades from his hands, and up to the keyblade wielder in the sky. The swords spread out as they move towards their target, their places of impact becoming more apparent the closer they get.

Two were aiming for her wrists, two were sailing right towards her shins, one chose to go right towards her blade, while the final one chose her head to be it's destination. While her increased speed might allow her to dodge some, there's no way in the husks's mind that she'd be able to get around all six.

And even if she does, she'll find a rater nasty surprise waiting for her. The very air around her might turn on her too...

Kyra fully expected the chains to follow her into the air, and was slightly puzzled when they didn't. In fact, they seemed to be retracting. As she began to fall back to the ground, her enemy started spinning in circles. He moved faster and faster, until she could no  longer make out his features. He seemed only a dark blur against the constant twilight of this world which she had finally gotten used to. As she watched, he stopped suddenly, the weapons flying towards her as she approached.

As the projectiles came closer, their targets became clear. Perhaps discarding the armor had been the right move. Had she left it on, they may have seemed too quick to give her time to analyze their trajectories. Two of the swords were headed strait for her wrists. The first of these she deflected with her blade, sending it back in his general direction, and the other flew by her as she pulled her arm in towards her chest. Another of the enemies weapons came dangerously close to meeting it's target, slicing through the air where her Keyblade had been only seconds before. The fourth blade came soon after it, apparently aimed directly at her face.

She raised her blade again to block it, only to feel a sharp pain in her right foreleg. She had seen it coming, but as she could  not cease her descent, nor block both simultaneously, she had figured that her brain was slightly more important than her leg.  She flinched at the pain, her reduced defenses along with her weakened body did not welcome this further abuse. Fortunately, this reaction moved her clear of the last blade. She kicked away the one that had struck her, sending it to the ground. It landed just before she did.

While she managed to land on her undamaged leg, a small trail of blood flowed from her newest wound. Kyra healed faster than most people, but this was still a major inconvenience. Combined with the effort of dodging the attack, and the blow to her endurance that the effort keeping up the shield had caused, she felt her strength beginning to fail  her. She gritted her teeth as she felt the blood trickle down her leg. Was it possible she could lose this battle? But that meant...

For some reason her mind jumped to Lenneth, and their fight with Cerberus. He had bled in much the same way. Her friend had been bruised and beaten by the giant dog, though it was only with his help that she ever would have won in the end. Still, he had been hurt, and why? To keep her out of the Underworld. That was the reason Cerberus had attacked, and the reason that her ally had shed even a small amount o f his blood. She couldn't let all of that be in vain.

She thought of the street kids she had only recently been mock-fighting with, of Alan and his kind father who had provided her with shelter. Indeed, she thought of all the people she had greeted on her way to this very spot. She had promised them she'd protect them, and that wasn't likely to be possible from the underworld.  The pain in her leg reminded her that she was fighting not for herself, but for them. And, though rather indirectly, this man ( or whatever he was) was a threat to them.

Anger overcame her.  Her eyes glazed over, turning a red-gold hue and radiating brightly. The light that still came off her skin turned this same color, as what could almost be described as flames danced around her. All threats to those she fought for must be eliminated.

A rather unfortunate turn of events for the spirit looking to capture Kyra. Her inability to fly didn't stop her from using all she had at her disposal to stop Eno's blades. Even airborne she was still capable of manipulating her sword in a way that'd make any swordsman green with envy. Eno's first two long swords were sent back his way while the third missed her entirely. As the forth was making its way to the target the husk is forced to turn his body to the side.

The blades sent back at him cleanly sail around him, though they came close, almost enough to where if he'd just been a half-step forward or back he'd have them embedded in his body. It's only due to luck that the sides are angled away instead of facing him. In order to keep the swords from continuing their randomly generated paths along the space surrounding the combatants he reaches out. Grabbing both by the ends of their chains, he stops their movements prematurely, the magic having been dispersed by their master's touch. As he turns to bring his attention back to Kyra, the handles now tightly gripped in both hands, he finds that the fifth and six have both had their magic canceled out.

But, one has clearly hit their target. The flames that are typically within the body of the outline, is now seen free flowing from an open wound in small white tinted wisps. The servant can only assume that she's been wounded, seeing that her life-force is now flowing from her body. While it's definitely not enough, it's a start. That leg could be his main focus should she be able to get close. With her having dismissed her armor any part of her body is now free to be damaged as long as the ex-hand is able to land a blow. That speed of hers will be a problem in that regard, plus he is unable to see just how significant of a cut is on her. Judging by the fact that her life isn't flowing out in large streams he has to assume it's nothing serious.

Back to the matter at hand, the third and sixth, remain in a constant state of motion, their trajectory causing them to reflect off the space around Kyra. Each time they makes a move around the keyblade warrior both comes dangerously close, but never near enough to actually strike her. The fourth spins as it descends, the magic on is obviously being canceled out by the way Kyra blocked. If she struck the sword like the first two, then the same effect would have came into play. Instead of it playing a further role, its blade buries itself in the ground nearby where it stays. Finally, the fifth hits the ground in front of her as she lands, as useless as the fourth had been.

It's in this moment silence falls over the two, each waiting for the other to make a move. The only sound being heard at this point belonging to the two blades still in motion. Each sharp ping being a constant reminder as their angles change and their directions along with it.  Neither seem to pay the potentially deadly weapons arching around them, their concentration on each other. Though, even if they did pay attention, it's not as if they needed to worry. They only remain in motion for a few more seconds before fading from existence. What a lucky little lamb she is, to not have to panic about either coming her way, and a rather frustrating turn of events for Eno.

This is a waste of time, she should have been nothing for the servant yet here she is only matched wound for wound with him. Wait, he shouldn't count this out just yet, they've only fought for three minutes at best, nothing really changing for either. This instance is still in its early stages, it wouldn't make sense for things to be easy. Besides, she helped take down that giant beast of a dog, Cerberus. He shouldn't look down on her with having accomplished such a feat. Even if she had help, defeating such a foe takes tremendous power and cunning.

Though, that brings up another point. Cerberus couldn't communicate with her. He can't speak the way Eno and others can, that dog can't put thoughts into the heads of others, demoralize them through the use of a tongue laced with silver. That's a thing reserved for those who could communicate with one another. The husk might be going about this all wrong, he's only attacking her on the physical front, should he attack on both he might push her over the edge, goad her into making a mistake that would seal her fate.

As his new plan began to formulate, he sees Kyra's body tense up, and the flames of life flickering within began to grow in size and intensity, it's becoming harder and harder for her outline to keep it contained. Just what is going on here? Is her spirit gaining power to the point of where her body can't possibly keep it contained? Where is she getting all of this with her flames dying down from the earlier assault it appeared as though Eno was already making a mark! What is she thinking about that's making the fire now flicker on her body?!

But that's not all, her eyes, that red-gold hue that show a burning rage, they've become so pronounced, staring directly into him. If Eno weren't a seasoned warrior, forged through trials and tribulations through both his life and death, such a thing would instill fear, instead all he feels is confusion and annoyance. But, this presents an opportunity. Angry individuals are easier to taunt...

He remains in a relaxed posture, the blades pointing to the ground rather than at her.

“You know,” Eno starts, the right correlation words building in his mind, “I can see you're determined to win. But, I can also see that you're under the impression that you're fighting for freedom, fighting for your survival.” He's sure to emphasize that word so it sticks rather than everything else. “We're not fighting, Kyra. That implies that you and I are on the same level. No,” he shakes his head, “this is nothing more than me capturing a scared and angry animal.” The husk points the tip of his left blade at her as he speaks. “You're letting your spirit run wild and free. No control,  no semblance of mastery. That's why you're a wild beast, not a warrior.” While the ex-hand continues his monologue, he concentrates, letting his back act as the focal point for new swords.

Quietly the chains slink out from the center of his back. While two wrap under his arms and stick out in front of him, the third arcs over his shoulder, though never touching it. Like metal melting under the intense heat of a forge, they change shape and form the familiar longswords Kyra is surely getting used to seeing.

“To think, the keyblade chose an untrained animal. How laughable. Perhaps, after I show you just how terrible you are with it, I'll show that young man and the old timer just how worthless you are as a guardian for this town.” Eno may have no intentions of harming any innocents, but its not as though Kyra can know that being in the state she's in. “I hope you understand what I mean, or should I just go to town now, remove their heads, and present them to you? I'm sure you'll get the picture then.”

Kyra cared little about insults to herself. While her pride did tend to get in the way of things, the slight offense she would have felt was far over powered by the rage that was flowing through her. At this point, she was barely listening to the words the man said, looking for an opening to strike him down. His blades were lowered, but surely he was not foolish enough to leave himself undefended. Still, she heard what he was saying, and couldn't help but let herself think of  it.

So he thought she was under the impression that she was fighting for survival? Well, in a way that was true. She was fighting, although not for her own survival, but for theirs. That he was so much the greater combatant as to consider himself on a different level was complete rubbish in her mind. The ability he possessed was impressive, but so far they had matched each other nearly blow for blow. For a man with six weapons facing a girl with one, the fact that they still seemed to be playing on somewhat even ground could attest to his blatant overconfidence. Fighting? Of course she was fighting, but what else could she do? Run away like the scared animal he thought she was? On this point too, she knew he was wrong.

"Scared?"
he laughed scornfully as one of  the blades turned itself toward her. The rest began to come into view, but she focused on the enemy himself. "I'm not afraid of you. As for angry, I'll admit to that."

The man continued to speak. He apparently knew about the Keyblade, but this observation did not strike Kyra as being particularly important. It was what he said next that drove her over the edge. How he knew about Alan and his father, she did not know, but this... this vile creature was willing to hurt them out of nothing more than sheer malice. This thing could no longer be considered human, in any sense of the word. Human beings didn't act like that.

Thinking back on it later, she should have known that he was bluffing. She should have known that he was playing on her anger. She should have realized that by letting her anger overwhelm her, she was becoming very much like the animal he had accused her of being. He had been right in one respect, she was lacking control. While her control of her movements was no less than his own, she had not yet learned to control her heart. Indeed even after everything had happened, she wouldn't regret this. The day she stopped caring about other people to such an extent would be the day that her powers would be rendered useless. All the power in the world meant nothing without something to fight for.

So Kyra fought. "YOU LEAVE THEM ALONE!" she growled, lunging forward at her foe. Her blade was met by one of his, and she fell back only to swing again. He was slower than her, but with so many weapons it seemed that no matter what angle she struck from there was another of those pesky blades blocking her way. She swung wildly and angrily at them. With her strength doubled, the chains shatter far more easily than before. It took only a few well-placed strikes to take one down. In her state of mind though, Kyra was not thinking about well-placed strikes. She simply swung with all of her might at anything that got in her way.

Of course, the creature didn't stand still under the assault. For every chain or sword she shattered, for indeed the weapons themselves could be broken after a while, another would appear in it's place. She was being attacked from all different angles. One of the swords  seemed intent on attacking her already-damaged leg, and struck at it almost to the point where it became predictable. Kyra normally would have picked up on this fact, but in her rage she knew only that these blades stood in between her and the enemy.

While she was perfectly capable of dodging these attacks, she found that she was getting no closer to damaging the enemy himself. Breaking the chains brought no satisfaction to the burning anger inside of her. Even as she dodged, she loathed to fall back even for a second. She was stronger and faster than she had ever been during the course of the battle, but she was blinded by rage. Her opponent, on the other hand, fought with strategy. No thought of this entered her mind as she lunged forward once more, striking with all of her might at the threat before her.

“Angry,” Eno echoes, ignoring her scornful laughter. Good, its essential to keep her that way, let her believe her rage will drive her to win this little debacle. As long as it keeps her oblivious to anything happening around them. Even if Kyra is able to sense the darkness she's rushed headfirst into, the fury that drives her actions should be more than enough to distract the keyblade wielder from anything other than Eno himself. The  husk's own darkness enveloping her might be taking priority, leaving smaller traces of the dark to go unnoticed. Believing this might be the only thing capable of pulling him ahead in their fight.

She's more than able to slice through his chains, and yet the husk is capable of making new blades almost immediately. But, the undead spirit can't keep this up forever, something has to give. Whether it be her running herself ragged or him draining his body of all the precious magical energy needed to keep summoning his only means of defense. As of right now, it's as though the Light-Bringer might pull ahead of the ex-hand and cut him down before he can accomplish his mission.

But, as was already mentioned, he's got an advantage over her still, in fact there are three...

The first being that a single one of the chains severed is slithering behind her as the two dance around swinging their blades at one another in a blur. Every so often Eno would split his attention to not only protect himself, but to move it closer as well. However, it's not without it's own problems. During their skirmish Eno's been forced to maneuver around Kyra after every attack, or jump away to gain some distance, leaving the chain to have to travel farther than needed. Every sidestep, every thrust, or lunge is met with a block, deflection, or parry. Those would be an issue were he fighting with only a single weapon. Using five means he's more than capable of getting away with mistakes. All he has to do is continue to combat her this way and eventually he'd get Kyra into a position to take her down.

The second being that even if he doesn't use the first advantage, he's gotten the warrior used to his patterns. They both know her leg is damaged, and common sense would dictate that Eno would aim for it to try and take her down. That's played into the servant's favor. As long as she believes that her leg is a target he'd be able to open her up for strikes. Honestly, it's just a means to keep her from doing more than just keeping his own blades away. With each attempted counter from her she's forced to block lest her hurt limb ends up worse for wear. With the constant movement to stay in melee range to add on to that is surely putting a strain on the damaged extremity anyway.

The third advantage brings in something that deals with the two being undead in their own ways. Kyra is sweating profusely, despite being able to keep up with Eno movement for movement and blow for blow she can get tired, her body does feel strain. This shell however, it barely functions as a working body, the testament to that being the sand that still runs from the cut on his chest. Eno can barely feel the temperature around him, can hardly process sight, in fact he hasn't taken a single breath to keep up appearances since their duel began.

To say that Eno could even feel bodily strain is a joke, but running low on stamina to continue his spells is a very real and terrifying struggle that he'd hope to avoid if at all possible. So, in order to come out on top, he has to employ all three advantages simultaneously.

The keyblade user shouts out her angry command, before lunging towards him. Immediately he brings up the blade in his left hand to meet with her keyblade while one of the chained blades on his back swung for her throat while another aimed for her leg. Neither made their mark as she fell back, but the opportunity arose again when she came back in swinging madly. It is as he told her, she fights like a cornered animal rather than a warrior. She's only further proving what he believes to be a fact, and that is more than enough to make him smile.

His empty words dug into her deeply, that much is for certain...

One thrust from Kyra is side stepped, and the upward slash that follows after it causes Eno to leap back, bringing himself closer to two of the severed chains that lie at his feet. With this small gap he dismisses the two swords in his hands, opting to rely on the three chained blades coming from his back. With this small breather Eno tries to further tempt her into giving in to her rage.

“Good,” Eno chuckles, opening his arms as though to embrace her, “let that fury drive you to strike me down, you dog of light.” He barely gets the words out before he's forced to use all three blades to block the following charging strike. Like snakes his blades “bite” back in the form of quick thrusts from three different angles, bringing her back on the defensive. As long as he keeps the blades angled toward her, and the chains away, she can't exactly cut them down to endanger him. She may be faster, however their hand speeds are even, and with three blades being against her, this change in tactics should be enough to keep her struggling.

Meanwhile, two of the chains that are lying around them slink along, coming every closer... they are just a few feet away now. Their front ends are melting down, giving way to curved daggers. Now, Eno doesn't bother with trying to move away, he keeps himself firmly planted in that spot, simply keeping her back with rapid thrusts. He's not even aiming for Kyra anymore with the blades from his back, Eno is aiming for her weapon in her stead. As long as he attacks it, she can't get a good angle with which to put strength into follow up swings, and a slash or stab lacking power also lacks damage potential. At least, he believes that to be.

A sudden, shocking thrust comes right after parrying Eno's third blade, an attack it looks like she's committing to. A once in a lifetime opening that this little girl is taking full advantage of. The ex-hand's swords are in a position that makes saving himself from damage impossible. Despite him never dropping his guard, she still manages a way through. In spite of that, she doesn't realize that this warrior of darkness can still act, even if he is at a disadvantage.

Instead of jumping back and away, he moves forward with his arms slightly outstretched, the chains now extending and wrapping around behind her back as though to encase both the husk and the light-bringer in a tight embrace of wrought iron. As the distance closes he moves to the left to try and avoid the bit of the keyblade, only to feel the light magic cut deep into the side of his abdomen. The blade cuts clean through, and it takes a fair amount of willpower to keep from yelling out from the sheer burning that now invades his torso. He has to take this hit in order to get the win out of this exchange.

His arms are now closing in around her wrists, to try and keep her from pulling back. Even if she did, she'd have to deal with the “net” of chains right behind her that'd just pull her right back to him anyway. And, as he is performing this action, the two daggers that were lying in wait by Kyra's feet strike, one aiming for the back of the calf of the damaged leg, the other's target is her thigh of the undamaged limb... should he succeed the keyblade warrior may find escape to be impossible.

As Xern travelled though the town he heard the clash of metal and people talking in a overly loud voice. Why do people even bother talking. After a few minutes Xern decided to go check the fight out, to see what was happening. As he approached the fight, he saw the girl from that one time. The one who wielded a Keyblade. Sighing heavenly, Xern watched and waited in the shadow waiting for a moment to attack any of the two combatants. He wanted to stop the two from destroying the area around them, and from killing them selves. He waited for a long time but then a opportunity came into the open.

With a flick of his wrist Xern pulled his sword out and attacked the man with the chains, useing his speed to burst towards the man. As he burst at the target he had in mind he started to cast a spell, illusion creation, so he could excape quickly and not be noticed hopefully. The attack in mind that he picked to use was a thrusting movement putting all of his speed into it.

As troublesome as it was tracking down people, Ikara didn't seem to mind. After all, she had not stepped foot in Twilight Town for quite some time. It was nostalgic in a way, a place of her beginnings, of her childhood. She quietly slipped by the old mansion that she used to sneak into the gardens of as a child, before it feel to ruin. The once well kept gardens now flourished to the point where the stone walls could no longer hold in the rampant flowering vines as they twisted and curled their way over the walls and spilled out onto the field out front. It made the halfling a little sad to see that the antiquated building fell from its pristine condition before, but it was still beautiful in its own way now. She shook her head as she continued walking around with her bare feet, sniffing the air every so often to find any trace of the one she was looking for. She had never met the female before, but with a request from a friend, Ikara was told to seek out a keyblade wielder. A girl who seemed to just sweat out light like it was natural. Easy enough she supposed, as annoyed as she was about the idea of becoming his bloodhound.

As the twilight darkened, Ikara cleared nearly all of the clocktower area of the city and boarded the train to the other portion of the world. It came to a halt at the station and she quickly paced down the stone steps, her feet curling over the edge of each stair. It was very quiet at this point in time, most people had left this area and off to sleep for the night. The halfling didn't mind, the less awkward stares the better in her mind. It wasn't long before she caught a whiff of a thick darkness, intermingled with the scent of a warm light at the far outskirts of the city. The female quickened her pace into a light jog towards the smell and lightened her footsteps as to make her presence smaller to not alert the group she could hear and smell up ahead. Ikara crouched low and stretched forward, her body transforming and shrinking into the form of a common cat with black all but on her tail and ears. The feline casually stepped around into the open from behind the foliage and her sapphire eyes scanned the site, locking onto 3 people in the clearing. Settling her eyes on the female she paid closer attention onto her and determined that she indeed was the one that Ikara has been searching for all night.

Kyra, huh? She seems to be holding her own okay. But I guess that I'm here to prevent anything from happening to her for now.

Ikara let out a small meow and flicked her tail to command her magic. Abruptly, snow began to fall upon the field they were all in, and softly melt into Kyra's skin, rekindling her energy. With that set, the female pounced forward as her form reverted back into that of her human one, retaining the ears and the thick wolf tail behind her. Ikara pulled out the bow that slung across her back and drew just the string with her pale fingers and as the draw reached max, the snow gravitated to her hand and formed a deadly sharp arrow formed of ice. The female steadied herself and released the arrow towards one of the chains and it melted slightly on impact, capturing the chain inside ice before continuing its path into the tree behind it, sealing it to the bark.

"Kyra, you may not know me but you look like you could use some help. Lenneth sent me to check up on you. I guess I arrived just in time." A wolfish grin crossed Ikara's lips as she drew the string back once more and repeated the same process, trapping another chain with her powerful ice magic.

[[I didn't know how you guys were going to react to Xerns so I left that somewhat open. I'll be able to write a more involved post next.]]

[[Rejuvinating Snowfall is activated. Post counter: 10 of Kyra's posts.]]

Vile dog of light... as if he was one to talk. So this creature still viewed her as some sort of animal. Her rage deafened her to the meaning of the words he spoke. He wanted her to get angry, to strike him down. She was determined to give him his wish. She charged once more, finding her path blocked by three of his blades. They moved differently now, each striking from a different angle, and it took her a moment to get used to this new pattern.

These three seemed the only threats at the moment. Were she of sound mind at that moment she would have scanned for the location of the other two swords, but right now they didn't matter. Indeed, even the three in front of her were little more than an annoyance. Her real target stood beyond them, hurling insults from behind his wall of chains. The dark force that seemed to pour from him now appeared to her as pure malevolence, no longer simple darkness, but actual evil. Of course, part of her realized that as a minion of Hades, he was only doing his job. In fact, he was probably bluffing. This part was shut out, however, by the sheer terror of those she cared about coming to harm. It was the only thing that scared her, and the only thing that could possibly enrage her to this degree of recklessness.

The attacking chains no longer struck at her legs or face, but seemed only to aim for the blade in her hand.  This made them easier to block, but drastically more difficult to sever. Constantly they struck, one after another, like the heads of the fabled Hydra. For each strike she blocked or parried, another would come between her and her foe. The man stood unmoving now, watching as she swatted at his weapons. So you've stopped running... she thought bitterly. For someone who considered her to be a cornered animal, he had been doing  good majority of the backing away that had occurred so far. His halt presented her with an opportunity, one that she intended to take.

The swords came in for another attack as she moved toward him. This time she made sure no knock them as far away from herself as possible. She had to create an opening. She swung violently at the fist two, sending them far out of her path. The third she parried, lunging forward and slashing at his stomach. Still he did not move. Instead he grabbed at her wrists as the blow connected. The pain it caused showed clearly in his face even with the blindfold, but somehow he managed to hold on. A wall of chains now stood behind her instead of in her way, as if to trap her inside. In this state she was much stronger than him. She pushed back against his hands, causing him to crouch slightly. Then suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her thigh.

Startled, she looked down to see that though her leg had been pierced by  a sword, it was not one of those belonging to her enemy. It appeared to have been thrust with great speed through the rear of the dark form, protruding out far enough to have hit her as well. The suddenness of it caused her to step backwards as one of the dark creature's daggers slid beneath where her foot had been a second earlier.

At that same moment a very strange thing happened. It started snowing. In the few weeks she had spent on this world, Kyra had never seen the weather change. The whole place always seemed to be held in perpetual twilight, never changing, never raining, and certainly never snowing. There hadn't been a cloud in the sky and yet somehow, in the middle of this intense battle, it had begun to snow. The falling snowflakes melted the second they made contact with her glowing skin. They didn't feel cold and wet as one might expect, but as they fell upon her she began to feel less exhausted, as though the melting flakes were giving her energy.

Looking back up she was shocked to see that  the face behind the new sword was one that she recognized. Her memories were still quite hazy, and being dead certainly hadn't helped, but she knew she had met him before. "Xern..." She remembered now, he had showed up when she was trying to help that guy... Sorox! That was his name. She wondered for a moment how he was doing. It was quite a surprise to see Xern here. The last time they had met was on an entirely different world. Still, she remembered him as a friend and refrained from attacking. The shock of his arrival had at least temporarily shaken her from her rage.

Speaking of new arrivals, another person had entered the battlefield. No sooner had she recognized Xern than a voice called her name from behind. She stepped back again and turned just in time to see the other of her foe's daggers pinned to a tree by it's chain, the links of which were covered in ice. The shaft of what seemed to be an arrow was still visible, and it's path could easily be traced back to the girl who now stood by her side. The archer introduced herself as an ally, sent by Lenneth,  no less. So even now Lenneth was still helping her escape.

She took another step away from the enemy, pulling herself free of his grasp, and smiled at this woman who had come to her aid. Though Kyra spoke to her new ally, she kept her eyes trained on the man in front of her, keeping her blade ready.  "Thanks. Always happy to meet a friend of Lenneth's. I'm Kyra, but I guess you already knew that..."
