"I... I don't know anything. I swear!" The thug's eyes shifted between the point of the keyblade an the karambit, knowing that either weapon was mere inches from ending his life. He looked up at the man with the rope, wondering how many of these people had eyes that could change color. If the change in him meant anything like it had in the girl, he didn't want to see it. "Please... don't kill me. I didn't know there was anyone down here. Heck, we aren't even allowed in this room! I'm just a retrieval specialist, I don't know nothin'. I just figured the owner liked his wine... Oh please, please don't kill me!

Kyra took the note from Jack's hand. Reading over it, she realized he was right. These guys didn't know anything about her. Maybe this owner guy did though.
"Owner?", she asked, bringing her blade even closer to his neck. "And who might that be?"

The thug shivered. "I don't know, some scientist guy. We pay him munny and he let's us hide out here. But only on the second floor, and never, ever in the cellar. I don't know his name, but I think he lives on the top floor. That's all I know, I swear!"

Seeing as he didn't know anything, and he had ceased to threaten her friend, she lowered her blade. The light died down, the armor vanished, and her eyes became blue again. She turned to the others. "Let him go. He doesn't know anything.

Leo stepped forward, his mouth was opened just enough to show his fangs; his arms still folded across his chest. "Madam, are you sure? What if he informs his boss that we are looking for him?"

He would release the man if she was certain. Perhaps Jacky would accidentally kill this thug to though.

The guardian went over to the wall and snatched the rope off of the beam, leaving the thugs hands and feet bound. "Find a way to free yourself punk." he snarled as he dropped the rope.

Jack watched as the girl showed signs of mercy upon the thug, someone was rotten in the heart...none of them deserved to live. No person like what was before them deserved to avoid the sting of a blade, all of them deserved every inch of the edge that killed. He watched as Leo kept the man bound, and he waited for him to move aside before standing straight and throwing his karambit with the flick of his wrist, watching it spin before planting itself in the man's chest on the right side...aimed just perfectly so it wouldn't hit the lung and it would avoid the esophagus. Here's the game...You probably have a few hours, two to four, before you bleed out. That's your timer to escape and find a doctor. But each hour you are still bound, I will return and I will create a laceration on your torso. Lady and Gentlemen, let the games begin! he disclaimed, raising his arms into the air before walking forward and yanking out his knife, watching the ichor form a river down the torso.

EH...I'd give you two hours. he shrugged and moved to the stairs, looking at the group before him. He knew they would judge him, but as he did the same to the thugs, they would not kill him. He killed those who needed to be punished, and he had hoped the three would not do the same to coerce him to make them feel the might of his karambit. I may be a jester, but when I'm serious there's the worry. Thugs like him don't deserve to live...They are what rot the streets and only look for the cheese that keeps them going. Now if you want, we can go tie up the scientist. But I warn you, once you are done with him...he's done with himself. Jack was much more grim compared to the giddy persona that he had before...it was a serious cause of Bipolar simulation, his switch between negative and positive emotions so rapid that they fumble into one.

Kyra looked at the man cowering on the ground. He seemed so frightened. A moment ago she would have slit his throat without a second thought, but then she had been blinded by rage. It seemed dishonorable to kill him now. After all, he had given them what they wanted. "I'm sure. Even if he tells someone, their boss is likely to find out soon enough. Jack already killed two of them. Besides, if the boss shows up, he's likely to know more than any of these thugs..."

Even as she spoke, Jack began his gruesome speech. She looked down at the bleeding thug, almost compassionately. She wondered for a moment if she should help him, but decided against it for the fear of angering Jack. She listened to him talk about human lives as though they were nothing. No, not all human lives, just these lives- the lives of the evil. She was glad he was on their side. Still, she couldn't bring herself to agree with him. She tore a piece of cloth from her sleeve, tying it around the thug's chest where the wound was. She left him tied on the ground though.
"That should show the bleeding, maybe even give you a chance. Still, I'll be offering no further assistance. If Jack insists on coming back every hour, I suspect there is little we could do to stop him anyway. She turned to the others, starting toward the stairs. "He's right about one thing though, we should probably try and find this scientist guy."

As Jack's blade plunged into the thug's flesh, Leo nodded in approval, letting Jack know he agreed with his actions. If they were lucky, Jack would have just rid this realm of yet another scoundrel.

"the Scientist is next then...may God have mercy on his soul..." Leo said in a ruthless tone, his amber colored eyes glowing with rage. The beast inside was longing for the chance to engage in battle with the proper opponent. Between he and Jack, they could handle thugs such as these by the horde...it was a real opponent in which he sought.

Myrus summoned his Keyblade to his right arm, and walked over to the right of Leo. He looked to him grinning, and spoke in a blen of a sigh and agreement.

"What must be done, must be done. I'm with you all."

Myrus spun his dark Keyblade in his hand. Battle would soon see it's blades again. It just awaited his newly found freinds to guide it.

"Alright then!" Kyra said cheerfully, her earlier rage all but forgotten. "Let's head out."

Krya began to climb the stairs. As she emerged from the stairway, she looked around the room. The door on one side looked as though it had been kicked in (probably by one of her rescuers, she figured) On the other side, she saw the body of one of the dead thugs. She averted her eyes. It's not like she had never seen death before, but she still preferred not to stare it in the face. Looking around some more, she observed that the walls of this room were made of the same material as the trapdoor, not the brick walls she had expected to see after emerging from the cellar. Off to one side there was a hallway. She pointed in it's direction. "I suppose that's as good place to start as any."

"Honored to have you Myrus.." the guardian said as he patted the younger warrior on the back.

He then followed Kyra up the stairs, keeping his eyes on every shadow, every curve...who knew what lay ahead just waiting for the chance to attack them next?

They walked through the doorway that Jack as well as Leo had used to get to Kyra. It wasn't long before they arrived at the first hallway. Kyra decided that was as good as any to take, thus Leo and the band of misfits would follow, ready for the battle ahead.

Jack followed, solemn that he couldn't dash throughout and slice necks, it would have been wondrous sport to do so! Even the writer and Jack can agree on some things, right Jackie? Yes! Blood isn't as boring as no blood. That was a terrible line. I agree on that too... Jack continued with the party, not even saying a word as the group made its way to the hallway Well, my writer says we should split up! he was back to his giddy persona, quite a happy tune-up from the sudden grim persona he had displayed to the group, happy that the thug they left behind was definitely suffering...but really he bluffed about returning each hour. Hm. We should go to the top floor, like the guy said. Isn't that where the scientist is?

Leo turned his attention to Jack as the odd pirate mentioned they should split up.

"Well it couldn't hurt...we'd cover twice the ground that way."

He then looked at Myrus and Kyra. "With both of them having the ability to wield a keyblade, I see no reason why they would not be fine. Jack, I'll go with you down this next corridor while Myrus and Kyra go straight. We will meet on the top floor...according to the historia behind Hollow Bastion that is where the scientist is said to reside."

Kyra nodded. "Okay then, meet you guys at the top!" She continued down the hallway with Myrus at her side. As they progressed, the hall got darker and darker. She knew it wasn't just because there were no lights down this far. She could sense the darkness around them. "Man, this place just keeps getting creepier" she whispered to Myrus. They walked further, and she began to see a dim blue light towards the end of the corridor. Something was down there.

Something seems way to off about this place. Myrus knew it. He was glad to have someone at his side, and this place might just reflect that.

"Something doesn't seem right, what's that blue light down the hall?

Myrus stretched his arm holding his keyblade, it's dark archaic design barely visible in the low light. He stepped beside Kyra in both fright and protection. He didn't want to get split up.

Kyra drew her own Keyblade, moving forward cautiously. She could feel darkness coming in around them, not to mention the darkness coming from Myrus's Keyblade. She wasn't too worried about that though. After all, Myrus was her friend, and she had learned long ago that darkness didn't always mean evil .

At that thought, her head started to hurt. She remembered the battle with the heartless... there had been darkness there too, but not just from the monster. She pushed the thought from her mind. She would worry about her memories later. For now, she had to stay alert.

As they approached, the source of the light became clearer. It was coming from the top a a cage-like contraption at the end of the hallway. A line of light ran through it, leading to the floors above. An elevator of some sort?

She took another step toward it, and a wall of darkness formed in the walkway, blocking the elevator's entrance. She dropped into a fighting position, ready to take on whatever was coming.

A small, yellow-eyed heartless appeared before her. She'd seen thousands of these in her lifetime, that much she knew. "It's only a Shadow!" she laughed, striking it down with one swing of her Keyblade. Even as it vanished though, two more appeared in its place. She struck at those, but then four more spawned. It seemed that when one was killed, two more would always take it's place.

She turned to Myrus, striking down another that attempted to attack her from behind. Even though they were weak, she couldn't fight endless waves of Shadows. She couldn't just stop fighting either though, and she had no intention of turning back. "What should we do?"

Myrus didn't really know. He raised his keyblade in defense of one trying to attack. He downs it a looks to Kyra. They needed to move. The couldn't be that strong, their only few shadows.

"They got to stop somewhere, any ideas?"

Myrus stabbed another one in it's head, only for another one to reappear a few feet back. He hadn't seen this much before.

"Only one!" Kyra began to glow with a brilliant white light. LIGHT SHIELD The glow expanded into a sphere, covering both her and Myrus. As heartless jumped up against it, they vanished in a flash of light, more spawning in their place. She pressed forward easily at first, but the waves of heartless striking at the shield began to weaken her. She reached the barrier and began to attack it, doing her best to ignore the creatures. She struck at it with her Keyblade, but to no avail. Realizing this wouldn't work, she began to pound her glowing fists against the wall of darkness. The shield had weakened significantly, and she was beginning to tremble under the effort of keeping it up.The shield around her faded as she directed her remaining power into her fist, throwing one last punch through the wall.

Surprisingly, as the wall shattered, the heartless vanished. Kyra breathed heavily. "What was that?"

Myrus gripped his Keyblade, something wasn't right. They don't just disappear like that, do they? Hush mind, just save the girl. Myrus saw that Lyra was weak, he put his hand on her shoulder and spoke softly.

"Thanks but don't hurt yourself, your too cute."

Myrus rested his and looked around the immediate surroundings. He on the inside was confused, Why did he finish that sentence like that? He didn't know, but he had to protect her.

Kyra laughed under her breath. Too cute, huh? Her looks would do her no good in battle. As for hurting herself, it was practically in the job description, being a warrior of Light. Still, using so much of her power in one battle had probably been a bad move. At least the path was clear now.

Her breathing began to slow, and she stood up strait. "Thanks. Alright, let's keep moving." She motioned in the direction of the elevator. If they could figure out how it worked, they might be able to take it to the top floor.

Myrus walked over to the elevator and looked around it. He was an amateur engineer with his smithing job. He didn't get very much use of his smith at all anymore, just the occasional fix this or make this small thing. He looked to a group of chains connected by gears but no source of power for lift, at least he didn't see it.

"Maybe it's hand cranked, or I'm just not seeing the source."

Myrus looked to Kyra and shrugged, he wanted to get it started, but he couldn't find out how it worked.

Leo and Jack began their trek down their chosen pathway which would lead to more bends and curves than either one of them could have expected.

Years prior to these events Leo had explored the lower bowels of this mansion/studious building, yet he had never taken the time to stroll in the upper parts of it.

"I don't suppose you know which way to go?" he asked the pirate in hopes that he had been here before.

I wonder how Leo and Jack are doing, Kyra thought as she followed him into the elevator. As soon as she set foot inside, the contraption slammed shut behind her, trapping them inside. "What the..." Startled, she lept away from the door. She looked around, trying to make sense of the situation. There must be some way of getting this thing started.

It was then that she heard a soft, buzzing sound. She looked around for it's source, but failed to locate it. Then a voice spoke. "Well aren't you just full of surprises, little Light Wielder." The voice sounded maniacal, laughing as she drew her blade. She looked around again, but saw nobody but Myrus and herself in the elevator. "Congratulations on passing the first trial, but you're proving to be quite a troubling subject. You've made me speed up my timetable, waking up so early. And you've brought friends along. Don't you know that increased variables are bad for an experiment? Honestly, your lack of cooperation is such an inconvenience." More maniacal laughter.

"Hey, who are you calling a subject!?!" she growled in no particular direction. Then the elevator started to rise, trowing her off balance and causing her to stumble backward into Myrus. "Sorry." She stood, turning to face him. "That must have been the scientist guy that the thug kept ranting about. He keeps talking about some experiment. Fairly insane, if you ask me. At least this thing is moving now." She tapped the wall of the elevator. "It must be run on magic or something."

The contraption ground to a halt, opening to reveal another passageway much like the one they had just come from. Kyra guessed this was probably the next floor. "Well," she looked at Myrus. She didn't see very many options as far as what they could do. "Keep moving forward?"

Myrus looked around confused, the gears and chains were completely fake. Myrus gripped harder at his keyblade and he looked to Kyra.

"Well it looks like that is the only way."

Myrus began to walk down the pathway, expecting Kyra to follow behind him. This could only get worse, he knew it was about to be.

Kyra nodded. She walked beside Myrus, staying as close to him as possible. She wasn't sure what to expect. Holding her blade out in front of her, she moved forward.
"And I thought this place couldn't get any creepier."
She looked up at Myrus. "What do you suppose that guy wants?"

Myrus shrugged at that question. He smiled the best smile he could under the current circumstances and looked to her.

"Power, insanity, or a painful death. I think I know which one he's gonna get."

Myrus spun his keyblade with his wrist slightly. He knew sometimes his Dark heart spoke for him, but he meant it in a good way. He'd save the girl, and have the good feeling of victory. He just wished his heart wouldn't always be the darkness that he knew it wanted to be.

Kyra laughed, relaxing slightly. "Glad you're on my side. Walking though all these hallways alone would be boring." Not to mention scary, she thought. She smiled at Myrus. "Well, that guy will get what's coming to him. Don't kill him too quickly though, I need to ask why I'm here."

Jack had absolutely no idea what he was doing except being bad ass. That was the only thing he thought, knew, and felt at the time regardless of his sometimes serious tone, and actually thought the writer should give him more explosions and killing...which normally the writer would oblige but this time it is less necessary. Looking towards Leo who asked the question, he shrugged. NO clue! But we haven't seen any bunny-a I mean thugs in a while." Jack dashed wall-to-wall with his karambit and one of his Bolt pistols, acting all stealthy and having his eyebrows do the wave constantly for no reason. He was quietly-not-really whisper to himself, dah-dah-dah....stealth mode....dah-dah-dah! stealth mode.... over and over. Eventually, the two reached a doorway, and he awaited Leo to open it, nodding his head towards it. Let us breach my young squire!
