It was a beautiful sunny day as always in the Olympus Coliseum. A cooling breeze flew around the arena leaving a small whistle here and there. It was late morning that the arena would be occupied by people today. Helena hadn't exactly reserved it herself but there wasn't really someone there either. Having the opportunity to use the entire place to herself to train she would gladly take it.

The girl walked to the center of the arena with her battle suit already on, covering her from head to toe. In her left hand was a wooden staff, which she used solely for the purpose of training and competitions. She wasn't one to go for a kill but she sure tried to knock someone out as soon as she'd be able to. It seemed someone had left barrels and obstacles around just for the young champion to train. An unseen smile would streak across her face.

Helena placed herself in a stance ready to pounce with the balls of her feet deep in the ground. In a flash the girl took off running at a set of three barrels, approaching them she placed both her hands at the end of her staff and leaped into the air smashing down on the middle barrel which broke like a flimsy twig. To move on the girl slashed the staff horizontally to break the barrel to the right as she'd land swiftly on the ground. Once that one was broken the girl smashed a whole into the last barrel of the set so it was on the end of her staff. Looking around she looked for another set of barrels while bending her knees ready for a hauling movement.

With barely any effort the girl swung her staff over-head with the barrel on the end of it flying off towards another set of barrels in the distance. However just like that the barrel bounced on the ground breaking a bit before going into the other barrels merely knocking them over. Helena straightened herself up as she watched the barrels clumsily fall over leaving a mess. The girl held the staff loosely in her left hand once again as she calmly talked to herself.

"Hm, gotta work on that aim.. Maybe a bit more power next time, yeah."

Free from Halloweentown, there was nothing stopping Milo from enjoying the fruits of the universe. And to get them, you needed to climb the tree. Or the world. Or some weird metaphoric statement that resonates with people. This wasn't the first time he was in Olympus, he stopped here for dinner a couple times with his parents. Not much had really changed, but how would he really remember, anyway?

As he wandered into the arena, he noticed this warrior in a very out of place suit, seemingly practicing with barrels. Was this another world traveler? Great! He hadn't really met too many of them yet, considering he had just started his own journey. He wondered if this was an adult or not. It'd actually be pretty awkward if it was someone his age, since he never really dealt with that social consequence? It was weird now that he let the thought linger.

Dismissing it to introduce himself, his dirty blond hair and hazel eyes stood out when juxtaposed to the warrior's suit. "Aye, training, huh? You're doing pretty good," He said, looking towards the barrels that she had sent the other barrel to. "Must be pretty hard hitting a non-moving target. They're tricky. Very tricky." He said, goofing around, somewhat mocking the warrior in a friendly manner.

He put his hand down, which had been raised so he could point his thumb to the barrels as he looked in the face of the mask. The person wasn't too much shorter than him, so it was easy to look eye to eye. Y'know, if there weren't a mask in the way. With a cheeky grin, he introduced himself, "Milo, local space traveler. Judging by your outfit, you're probably familiar with the occupation."

Standing there as she watched those few barrels fall over Helena noticed the figure of someone else. This place was almost dead whenever there wasn't a tournament so perhaps it was another champion out to train. The girl turned to face the man as he approached, her posture straight as she let her staff slide through her hand to hit the ground and her helmet still on her head though it could have been seen as rude.. most likely. However this guys approach to the woman wasn't the most well mannered either, mocking Helena's training against still targets, but it was just playful banter the girl assumed.

"I suppose they're better than nothing."

The words slipped out of the girl's mouth with a calm overly cool guy- gal tone. As the two stood there face to face Helena examined the young man, dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes, around her age-ish and clothing that seemed a little out of this world. As he introduced himself as a space traveler it made Helena let out a little smile, she was right, and, he was too. Though he was friendly and all the girl just nodded to her being a traveler and stood there silently for a moment before she'd introduce herself to him properly.

Perhaps it made her seem overly dramatic but after those few short seconds the girl took off her helmet - well the helmet retracted back into the suit, morphing into no extra shape. Her long blonde hair fell out of the helmet and her emerald eyes were pretty much locked on his face. The young 'oh so mysterious' girl gave the man a small grin before extending her hand.

"I'm Helena, nice to see another traveler, haven't been many round here in awhile."

She took kindly to his words. Great! It was annoying when people took him too seriously, as if he was trying to purposely offend them or make them feel inferior. He was just trying to start a conversation, maybe take a few jabs here or there to be funny, but it was never meant to actually lead to a confrontation. It was a pleasant surprise, as his mouth had gotten him into trouble before.

As her helmet retracted into her suit, which was admittedly a cool trick, she revealed her features. He hadn't thought her a male before, considering her feminine body and tight outfit gave away enough of her shape, but he was surprised to see her underneath. Milo had thought she would be a raven haired, cold eyed bitch. It fit the outfit she was wearing, and her voice and tone didn't ruin the theory, but she looked a lot more appealing than originally assumed.

Blond hair, emerald eyes, and rather attractive face. She was easy on the eyes, which led him to think she might not have been fighting for all too long. She looked relatively young too, which means there were tough times ahead of her if she was going to be a warrior. It was all he could assume, considering the situation, and the barrels, and the comments on the barrels, and...yeah.

"So, what're practicing for? Coliseum battle? Adventure? Maybe, traversing a dungeon? That sounds fun actually. If you're gonna do that, then count me in." He said, rambling a little bit, in the same upbeat tone he typically spoke in. Milo was always rather friendly, even if he sometimes blurted questionably rude content. It was all in good fun.

"A bit of this and that y'know. I was hoping for a tournament to be held soon but I'm not too sure when the next one here will be, so I guess its always good to be prepared for whatever could come at me." Helena paused, the silent maybe hinting that she was going to continue training despite meeting Milo, she tended to be determined like that. "If you'd like to train with me I'd be down for a spar... That is, if you want to."

With the invitation extended the girl lifted her hair up and twirled all the length into a bun, just like that the helmet formed over her head again as she let go of the bun. The mask wasn't exactly necessary for a spar but she liked to get use to her equipment for when it called for real situations. With that done and dusted, the girl waited for Milo's reply patiently.

She spoke of a tournament, which was the least interesting of the options, but the most logical. He wasn't particularly fond of entering tournaments or being overly competitive, for the sake of winning and proving he was more powerful than someone else. He enjoyed adventures, because they provided great stories and typically forced him to think outside his comfort zone, which was rather large to begin with.

She offered to fight and he hesitated, only for a second, before shrugging his shoulders and agreeing. There wasn't much else he could do right now. Might as well see what she was made of and practice what he was taught in Halloweentown. He had only been accustomed to his wind manipulation in real situations, using candy magic still required some thought, opposed to instinct.

As he flicked his left hand open, his candy cane weapon seemed to stem from his wand finger. It unraveled into his hands in an instant, as he held it somewhat loosely. As his other hand was raised, and he took his typical stance that he had practiced throughout his youth, he smiled, letting her know he was ready to go. He wondered how far she took this spar and how seriously he was supposed to take it. "Uhm, go?"

As a candy cane formed in Milo's hand the girl couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, it was different indeed then again in some way the man himself seemed pretty unique too. It was apparent that he was a magic user, considering the finger.. which was a wand.. again.. unique. Helena herself moved a stance with her staff being held in one hand leaning over her left shoulder where as her other hand was left free with her fist clenched. The girl had a tendency to get overly competitive when it came to battle, even if it was just a spar she probably wouldn't give up til she won or was severely beaten.

Milo had told her to go and she was to do just that. The girl was very physical in the sense she used sheer strength and speed to overthrow her opponents. She dashed forward straight towards Milo, as she did so she let her staff slide down her hand so her grip was at half way. Nearing him she swung the staff around for a whack at his right side, the girl used quite a bit of strength in her swing along with momentum even if it was just her left hand, she wanted to test his strength against hers first before moving on to using the staff like a two handed weapon. Plus, in this instance, she'd have her other hand free to place on the staff to move it into a defensive position.

Helena had a plan to start off lightly anytime she was to spar, even though she wanted to win it was nothing like a tournament battle where she'd go as hard as she could from the beginning. Though, she wouldn't slack too much on the power she used in each hit, she still wanted to win after all.

She came quickly, rushing towards him. She was extremely fast, but he was sure he could keep up, as long as he was smart about how he moved. As she swung her staff horizontally, towards his right side, he jumped from a standstill, pretty high, especially through use of his air manipulation and kicked out forward, as the staff was still swinging under him. The air from the kick, which was the main attack, the kick not actually coming close enough to make contact with her, would fly towards the warrior at a high speed, but wouldn't really do much but try to push her away and towards the ground.

He would land lightly, on his feet, his position not having changed much, if allowed. He needed to push her away to see what she would do. Leaving them at their default would open up some insight on her fighting style. He knew she was fast, but what else could she do? Would she stay physical or would his use of magic convince her to play with some of her own? With a goofy smile, he would tease her with his cane, wiggling it around a bit to show his lack of supposed tenacity.

"You're pretty fast." He said, speaking to see if she was the type that preferred silence or banter. There were a lot of factors that came into fighting and he needed to be able to use every advantage he could. At least, that's what he was taught by both his parents and his mentor in Halloweentown. Then again, he was their mentor, so it made sense why their philosophies synced up.

Helena didn't need to be some sort of mage or something now to see that Milo was using wind magic. With ease he jumped into the air and the slight breeze suggested that there was a knock of wind coming Helena's way. Sent at her while she was in mid-swing made things a little bit difficult however she wouldn't allow it to throw her off balance. With her free hand she placed it on the staff and moved it into a diagonal defensive pose where the kick would make the most impact on her that wasn't her body. With her toes solidly on the ground she slid back a few meters bringing her heels down as she did so. Typically dust kicked out from underneath as she slid, rising up in a cloud up to her knees.

Though the distance wasn't too far nor too small there was surely an opportunity for Milo to throw another spell on her, which was generally what she assumed would happen if he was a magic user, most of them tended to use distance to their advantage. However he was just landing lightly as a wind-mage would, waving his cane around in a taunting way, could have been strategy to get her worked up, or simply just his personality, after all the first thing he said to her was pretty cheeky. Perhaps he thought the girl had some magic of her own, which really she didn't but she liked to keep that a secret and leave people wondering, to think someone could brawl as ferociously as she tended to then whip out some magic could leave some people being very frightened.

"So are you."

Said the girl before moving forward once again, this time she shifted forward in small steps holding her staff diagonally across her body to leave her less open than before with the blatantly forward attack. Her next attack was still blatantly forward but hopefully with a rolling effect. Nearing him the girl instantly picked up her pace and slashed the staff downwards at Milo's left shoulder - area, whether she hit or not she continued with the momentum to step to the left yet turning her back to him slightly as her right foot quickly shot up for a kick to lower torso, quickly after that she brought that foot down to the ground to turn her body back towards him, her staff going for a quick but weak jab at Milo's chest. The girl liked to use both her weapon and body when fighting, after all she was taught that weapons were merely an extension of the body when in battle. How Milo reacted to Helena's attacks interested her and would typically give more insight to his fighting style and perhaps how he evades or defends himself.

She pushed forward, the attack having landed, which was good to know. He wasn't sure his fighting style would work well against her, but it seemed he was able to go toe to toe pretty well. Luckily, he was able to react to her speed. If he were even slightly slower, or kept at a pace for too long, he would likely be overwhelmed by her ferocity. Breaking her pace and moving at his own would be the key to success.

As she progressed, she seemed more guarded this time, however, she still left herself open with her attack as she raised her staff. If this were a fight to the death, he might find himself attempting to impale her, but that wasn't a good impression to make when you're sparring with someone. The inability to hold back wasn't an attractive feature. And would that be domestic abuse? Nah, she was a strong woman, she would probably kick his ass if it weren't for his magic, especially with that ambitious of hers.

As he had The Jaw-breaker dance with the staff, all he did was lead the momentum in a slightly different direction away from his body, getting his wand finger close enough to make brief contact with the staff. When he would tap it, a giant gobstopper, with the same weight and density of a concrete sphere with an 8 in. (20.32 cm) diameter.  The added object, and it's weight, would be near the end of the staff, making it much more difficult to move, considering the balance was off set.

Unfortunately, this trick didn't allow him to counter or evade the kick that came to his lower torso. All he could do was slightly duck down, brace for impact, and put his bicep in the way as he slightly hopped, causing him to get pushed back quite a bit. He was carried by his wind manipulation a bit, causing her force to carry him farther than he would have if left to the natural forces of gravity. Now, she would have to deal with closing the distance yet again, but have the gobstopper slow her down in some facet.

He left her with a cheeky smile as he landed, getting back into position, a horrid black and blue hidden by his sleeves. It really smarted, but the adrenaline made it bearable for now. She was quite the hitter. In fact, it was surprising she didn't get the barrels to collide earlier on, she was likely training to control this strength more efficiently. It was possible she could've completely broken through the barrel without launching it anywhere, which really makes sense in needing to learn control. Anyway, yeah, back to the fight. It was pretty fun. He enjoyed trolling her a bit.

Though severely confused by the ridiculousness of this gobstopper now on her staff the girl still managed to land a kick on Milo however hitting his arm rather than his core. He was sent back a distance that would have been more than she could push him with just a strong kick, though she managed to land a hit it gave him time to make distance, however in this instance she needed it. The weight of her staff changed immensely, the ball on it seemed just like concrete however its color and ever so slight sweet scent gave it away that it was candy, not to mention that her opponent had a candy cane as a weapon.

With the ball on her staff the girl quickly smashed it on the ground in front of her, keeping an eye on her opponent. Though she did this to get the weight and his magic off her staff it could have been a little intimidating to see a nimble girl like herself smash the concrete-like ball off of her staff and in result the ground cracking beneath the ball. With that done and dusted with ease the girl stood up straight, holding her staff slightly more towards one end than the other and slightly pointed at Milo's cheeky smile. It was once again time to close that distance for another strike.

The girl once again ran forward, closing the distance rather quickly as always. Her body was left pretty open as she came towards him, however her reaction time and agility usually allowed her to hit spells away or even just dodging them was possible, that was, if it came to that. As she neared the weirdo magic guy once more she firstly jabbed her staff downwards at his shin and spun the staff back and upwards as she'd take a quick step back to assess the next moves Milo would make. It was a simple attack thus far, but usually as things managed to hit Helena would come up with another move from there.

Her opponent this time was very equally matched with her too in terms of speed which kept the warrior on her toes. The whole battle so far was quite equal, the girl had her strength and the boy had his magic up her sleeves. Helena just had to find out what tricks were up his sleeve, which was usually the most enjoyable part about fighting against magic users, seeing their capabilities and all. As a girl with not much magic capability herself it usually fascinated her and sometimes caused a bit of jealousy, something she'd never admit though, along with never admitting how much she just sucked at magic.

His weapon was meant to harm more than he intended, right now. He would either end up slashing, piercing, or breaking some type of bone and he was unsure the severity that he was allowed to spar. That was kind of the reason he wasn't going for any attacks right now that could seriously damage her. Not that he underestimated her as a person, but he didn't know if she was prepared to deal with someone trying to go for the throat. It was a spar, after all.

He desummoned it, as she took time to break the concrete spell. Yeah, she was definitely strong. Stronger than he was for sure. He wasn't so much intimidated as he was impressed. Good for her, breaking stereotypes and all that jazz. What was wrong with powerful women anyway? Too many men couldn't deal with the insecurity that there was a woman stronger, smarter, faster, or etc. than them, but there was always going to be someone like that. So, what was the point in worrying?

As she approached, she sent her staff toward his shin, which would be easy enough to avoid. Focusing more on his wind manipulation, his style was much more fluid than when he used his candy magic, which was more direct and upfront. Not wanting to waste energy, he avoided the attack to the shin by slightly circling out of the staff's way, using minimal movement, due to her target having been small and easily moveable. Especially, since it was necessary for him to move this to continue.

As he circled, he stepped forward, thrusting the back of both hands to her torso, using the wind manipulation as a supplement to the force of the attack, which not only increase its strength, but make her fly farther back as well. The idea was to simply get her to use more than her staff at this point, since he had already used up his not-deadly tricks. The best part about his current fighting style was utilizing minimal movements, while using the strength of his entire body in a burst to deal damage when appropriate.

Hopefully, he would be able to get the hit in or force her into a position where she would have to do something else. Even if she was purely physical, he wondered if she would use magic to enhance those aspects of her and make her overwhelm him.

As her attack was dodged quite easily the girl had managed to take her half-step back in order to keep track of Milo's move. Seeing him go for a physical attack excited Helena, she was interested in his physical capabilities as well as his magic. Releasing one hand from her staff she raised her arm to take the blow which indeed hurt but even more so achieved the aim that Milo was making of distance. Being thrown back a bit would usually take someone off balance, Helena however quickly stepped back with her torso slightly leaning back a bit further than normal. It was easy to assume Milo had added wind magic once again to create this distance, perhaps he was trying to tire Helena out, or get her to pull out magic tricks like he tended to do.

When it came to using magic the girl liked to save it for later in battle as it tended to drain her a lot more than running around and assaulting her opponent. However this was more of a fun fight than a fight to the death and what she planned on doing with her magic wasn't the most straining thing she could do to herself. Repetitive as she was, Helena charged forward once again to attack Milo. Her staff held diagonally across her body as she came towards the traveler, however when she came within a few feet of him she stuck the staff into the ground and flicked it up and towards Milo, the staff itself wouldn't hit him as there was still a bit of distance between the two, usually it would just achieve the nasty trick of flicking dust up into his eyes or some thing, instead a crack rushed towards Milo with a pillar of the earth getting bigger until it reached him to shoot up and get him in the lower torso. Helena's magic didn't exactly allow for the long distance things or the massive pillar to follow him if he repeated the jumping motion from earlier.

While the pillar rushed at Milo so did Helena as if to follow through with the earth attack. She watched carefully for where ever her opponent would evade to as she spun her staff from side to side to gain momentum and strength for when she went to strike him next, or perhaps to even block something.

He succeeded, but he wasn't really getting anywhere, which he was fine with. Right now, he was just trying to push her around until she started showing other tricks of hers. After all, what fun would this be if she stuck solely to her whack-a-mole method? All he would have to do is tired her out and then pin or down or something with a spike. Then again, that might be a bit risky, considering that she

Fortunately, she seemed to have a different strategy in mind, as she stuck her weapon into the ground, using some Earth manipulation magic to send a spike towards him, which he was pleasantly surprised to see. This actually fit her so well. Her rough, jagged style was, of course, complimented with her ability to manipulate the earth around her. The question was, why did she withhold this ability? It would likely put her on part with him, now that they both had a crutch element to rely on. Especially, since they seemed to be in equal supply.

As the spike came towards him, he decided to act a bit more aggressively, as a way to make things more interesting, opposed to his escape-at-all-costs method. As he put his left hand forward, the giant gobstopper now appeared on his hand, blocking the spike the spike and causing the rock to crumble and break as it came into contact with the spell. As he grimaced, he didn't realize how much the impact would hurt, even if his hand was protected by the spell.

As the two forced finished colliding, the gobstopper was only cracked, since it was a magic meant to endure such hardships. Unfortunately, his hand dropped, due to the weight, which would make his fight against her a bit more difficult, since he now had to get rid of this. There wasn't a way to desummon this, so he'd likely have to smash it against her or another earth attack of hers, which would end up hurting his hand even more.

Yikes. Maybe he let himself get a bit too cocky there? Or maybe he wasn't confident enough. He didn't expect the spell to survive the collision. "Well, this is awkward." He said, joking around, nudging his head to his handicap, smiling widely. "'I'm glad to see you're pulling out all the stops now." He continued, hoping to push her into continuing this battle.

Surprisingly Milo hadn't evaded this time, instead summoning another gobstopper to funnily enough stop the spell Helena had used from hitting him. Seeing this opportunity arise the girl spun her staff above her head horizontally before moving her arm to send the staff to whack at the arm Milo was using to block her earth spike. Shortly after the attack whether it hit or not she quickly changed the direction of the staff to spin back towards her, stopping completely as she prepared for another attack. In this short moment she noticed the gobstopper on his hand weighing him down, she didn't exactly enjoy banter while fighting but she had to let out an awkward response of,

"Oh jeez, didn't see that coming." The girl paused, looking down to the staff in her hands, at this point it felt like a liability, it seemed she'd have to use her bare hands and magic in order to over come Milo so, she threw it to the side, like way to the side, like damn she had a good arm.. "I think this will make things more interesting."

The girl smiled, it seemed to be that Milo would have a way of getting out of this little default he seemed to have gotten himself into. Helena however was going to continue the fight using her body as a weapon. She rushed towards him even though there was a small amount of distance between them anyway, she held one hand palm down in front of her as the other was pulled back ready to go in for a punch. As she threw a punch at Milo's torso her other hand shot up, in correlation to that a concave wall shot up behind Milo, it was obvious that this was made to make sure the only way he would be evading was up, which was likely with his wind magic but also dependent on the gobstopper too.. she guessed.

As a brawler the girl continued to make another move after the punch, as her arm pulled back from the punch she spun to bring up a nice roundhouse kick towards his torso once again, using momentum and her strength alone to try overpower him, that was of course if he was still close at all.

As he clumsily swung his hand upward, as he stepped backwards, he blocked her attacked, the gobstopper cracking a bit more, but still staying in tact. He was lucky the momentum was able to parry it, but it did leave him a bit off balance. Fortunately, she had decided to take a step back and analyze the situation, otherwise, she might've had him on the run for a bit.

It seemed she was tired of using weaponry, which was good. He had dropped it awhile ago, so it was nice to see her change her style. "Getting hands on, huh?" Milo teased, with a mischievous smile. She was likely going for the more intimate approach, he only had the advantage because he went within a closer range than her staff allowed for, causing him to manipulate her body and cause him to push her away. This was no longer the case. Oh, well.

As she rushed towards him, he began to move backward, swinging the gobstopper to help him build momentum. However, due to the wall popping up behind him, he bumped into it, getting stopped. She had him on the run now, which was actually kind of exhilarating. He didn't realize how much he enjoyed being preyed on. Too bad he actually had to not get kicked around, or else he'd leave a bad impression. And with her proving rather impressive, he didn't want to disappoint her.

Using the leftover momentum of the gobstopper, when she threw her punch, he used it to crash into the wall, causing the structure to fail, so it would come crumbling atop of this. Simultaneously, he used this momentum to send his other hand flying towards the arm pit from the hand she punched with, hoping the other hand would've been too busy from just having brought the wall up and/or dealing with the debris that was coming their way. It was all kind of wonky, but he hoped he could pull of these movements, just to build some space and be free of the gobstopper hand, since, y'know, that was extremely difficult to coordinate around.

Helena smiled back at Milo for a second, then realized, he couldn't see it. Oops. Continuing however it came to be that the intention of the wall came to use, her opponent had to hold his place and fight her, he managed to break the wall with his gobstopper hand which was quite impressive, sadly for him the gobstopper hadn't broken either. In the girl's punching movement Milo punched her armpit, which was really weird but effective, well as effective as can be through Helena's armor. It felt like a bruise had just been pressed on lightly, if it weren't for her armor it would most likely have hurt a lot more. Her other hand was held with her palm open, debris flew towards her and him randomly from the wall being crumbled however with her hand there each bit of earth would stop and fall to the ground when it came near her personal space.

The magic she was using so far wasn't very complex at all but it still managed to take a bit of a toll on her stamina each time she used it, this mostly called for her to get more intense or stop using magic at all. The moment after Milo's punch had landed Helena shifted her body forward and moved her arm back and down towards her torso to hold Milo's arm there. If successful she would have placed her hand on his elbow just to hold him in place. From there she took a very short, very important pause, on that she hoped her opponent recognized as a pause in the battle.

"I thought this could make things a bit fairer."

The battle suit she was wearing retracted to her hands, shifting like mercury to form just a pair of gloves. The outfit she was wearing underneath was very simple, a crimson tank top, a pair of grey shorts and a pair of brown ankle lace up boots. Her hair was tied up avoiding that whole hair whip thing that happened with her quick movement. She gave a smile and a nod to show she was ready to carry on, along with a few seconds to make sure he was ready before she carried on with her next movement.

From there Helena raised her knee and jumped up and at Milo, at the same time if she managed to catch him pulling him down to try and get her knee to make contact with his stomach, from there she would let go. She had the idea that the gobstopper arm thing would be coming her way and she had to be ready for other moves that would come at her.

As she caught his arm, he realized how fucked he might've been, but he wasn't going to let this turn circumstance prevent him from trying to pull ingenuity from where the Sun don't shine. Even worse, she was using her magics to prevent anything from hitting her, which admittedly protected him from the larger chunks, but he was still nicked, here and there, dirt starting to cover his face a bit more. Even she couldn't escape from the, while this close in proximity.

Fortunately, he was able to bend his elbow a bit before she tried holding it in place. He wasn't going to win over all, but he could delay her for a bit, if she ended up trying to break his elbow, which he was cautious of. Admittedly, at this point he would've tried slamming her with the gobstopper, but that might've dealt too much damage to her. He was unsure if they were really trying to break each other's bones, or stab one another, or etc. Maybe there was a submission tactic to it?

Regardless, she seemed to have a soft spot for him, whether out of respect of his combat prowess or disappointment of how much he sucked. She removed her armor, which he could've made a joke about, but was now really the right time? Of course it was, but he didn't want a broken, so. Scales.

Launching a spike from his finger, in order to break the gobstopper, she seemed to take this as a signal to attack, which it was. Her knee connected with his stomach, airing him out, but he didn't let his gasping air stop him for too long. She was in the perfect position for an awkward topple to the ground. As one knee landed in his stomach, he had wrapped his leg around her other and pushed forward, while using the now free hand to grab her thigh-ish lower back area? He was just trying to avoid inappropriately groping her while making it difficult for her to remain balanced as he locked himself within other parts of her body, so they would fall to the ground, him on top.

To be honest, he wasn't even sure what to do from this point forward. If all of this worked, even if she managed to roll him over and get on top, he would normally just stab her with his finger, using the candy corn spike spell he had just shown. But, as was previously established, murder was not part of sparring, so. He'd probably have to take the L like a champ.

Though using her magic to stop the debris from hitting her it didn't stop all of them, as she was in the middle of her attack just one bastard of a rock flew past Milo's head and hit her in the forehead, not too hard but it was an annoying pain, one that made her wish she left her mask on, she didn't enjoy her bread and butter getting all mashed up. However with a small twitch of her eye she toughed through the pain and carried on. Feeling her knee make contact with Milo's stomach caused her to do a small hooray on the inside, though she stayed focused. Instead of the gobstopper coming at her Milo broke it with a candy corn spike spell thingy which freed his hand, she wondered why he didn't do this earlier but oh well.

With his hand free and Helena balanced on only one of her legs Milo took the chance to make her fall to the ground. With her body in his grasp but not like in awkward places she wasn't able to slip out and would end up having to fall to the ground. Knowing the outcome of falling to the ground she wouldn't let it herself go down without causing a bit of damage. During the fall Helena bent her arm that was being used to control her earth magic wiz biz and slammed her elbow down at Milo's collar bone. The force was enough to leave a decent bruise, she wouldn't want to break any of his bones because it was just plain rude to do in a spar like this, perhaps one day they'd train together a bit more intensely but this was just the first time they had met.

As planned, Helena fell on her back which admittedly hurt with the rough flooring below plus her and Milo's weight combined, there was even a bit of wind knocked out of her chest. She wouldn't let this fall and lack of wind stop her from trying to win the spar, it was pointless but she was just so damn determined to be the best at everything. From there she attempted to grab Milo by his upper arms and lock her legs with his, after she was secure she rolled to the left to hopefully bring her on top which would be a little awkward but that would hopefully be the end of this spar.

Despite his success, he had to deal with an elbow to the collar bone. If he hadn't already been aired out, he would've let out an audible yelp of pain, however, all that came out was silence and another gasp for air. As they landed on the floor, she used this opportunity to roll him over, which he expected, but wasn't prepared to deal with considering the blow to the collar bone that had left him momentarily stunned.

She grabbed his arms and entwined her legs with his, ensuring that he wasn't in position to escape. She was strong, and while he was able to exert a large amount of force in a burst, this scenario was not his forte. Pointing his want finger above her shoulder, he cast the candy corn spell once again, making sure that it would miss her and not pierce or cut her in anyway, but he had to let her know that if this weren't at spar, he would've been escape to escape via magic.

With a cheeky smile, he accepted defeat, after letting her know about that one opportunity to escape, but showing he didn't want to be an asshole about a spar. After all, was losing that big of a deal? As he kind of looked down, he really took notice to her form and the fact that she was on top of him. He got a bit nervous and his face showed that as he gulped.

The only way to relieve the tension was with a joke, "Hey, not that I mind a hot girl on top of me, but aren't we kind of rushing things?" Admittedly, he didn't know what else to say. And he really didn't want to focus on the fact that she was on top of him, since he was just teenager and had very little self control. "The name's Milo, by the way." He continued, just trying to keep himself distracted.

Helena was successful in rolling over and pinning him down, however he showed that if this wasn't a friendly fight magic would be a liable option for him to get out of this situation to which Helena admired, she didn't quite understand the whole candy thing but still it was unique and generally worked out to his advantage. It was nice to see he wasn't an asshole and went for the ridiculous strike one this friendly fight... like she did, she was an asshole when it came to winning but at least she only left bruises and perhaps a bit of fatigue over broken bones and blood everywhere.

There was the awkward moment where Helena looked down to realize the position she was in, shortly followed by Milo's comment, it was terribly cringe-y. With haste she loosened up and moved off of Milo, it wasn't that he was unattractive but she just really didn't enjoy the sort of situations when people get the wrong idea. It was clearly a joke but Helena wouldn't inch anywhere near that. Despite all this, she played it all off as cool as she stood up brushing the dirt off of her knees and letting out an angsty cool kid

"Whatever." Followed by a cheeky one sided smile and her hand held out to help Milo up. "I'm Helena, nice to meet you, you've got some interesting magic going on there Milo."

She commented as she'd try to help him up. Helena truly was interested on where he had learnt this magic from, she hadn't seen it anywhere before so naturally she was curious. There was also other things she'd like to know about Milo, like really why did he even come here today? Of course he was a traveler but there wasn't a tournament or anything on so-. Perhaps at this point as well it could be good to make a friend her own age that isn't just her pet, it seemed like they'd get along, maybe.

As she helped him up, he was glad that she didn't address the situation. It was pretty embarrassing, but that's kind of why he had to make a joke about it. He typically danced around what made him uncomfortable, which might be a testament to how he was raised. Good, good. Time to completely change the subject and focus on introductions.

As dusted himself off a bit, but it didn't help too much with what was on his face. He definitely needed to shower or bathe in some local river or something. They hadn't invented showers here yet, right? Yeah, probably no plumbing. That sucks, a nice hot shower would do wonders, considering how sore he was going to end up feeling in the morning. Everything smarted right now, but the healing process always seemed to be more grueling.

"Helena," he repeated, primarily to himself. "Nice name. Very unique." He complimented, genuinely having never met anyone with that name prior. The closest he ever heard of was Helga, The Marsh Giant, which was one of his mom's childhood friends. Still, it was only the first three letters and they probably didn't have the same etymology.

"Yeah, my parents have this weird lineage and set of traditions, so they let me stay on Halloweentown for a year with a guidance counselor-coach-tutor-sensei type thing. " The gypsy explained, giving some closure to how he learned it. "Also, this finger really helps." He said, displaying his left hand point finger, which was a living wand. It was the appropriate length, but it was just a magical item opposed to flesh and bone.

"Your earth manipulation magic was pretty impressive," He began, continuing the compliment by adding, "Among other things." He said this, rubbing his arm from when he was kicked by her. There were other black and blues, but this conveyed the message enough.

"Milo seems a lot more unique than Helena"

The girl laughed. It was strange for the girl to hear that her name was original and unique, in a place like this she thought it was kind of common, at least it would be to his name. As he spoke of his parents, their traditions and how he had been training in Halloween Town it made sense to Helena why he was the way he is, unique indeed but also very playful and cheeky, at least that was the assumption she had made so far. She noted the wand finger thingy, it looked very convenient for a magic user but also rather weird, having a certain way of knowing what the human body looked like made even the slightest changes seem very deformed and different.

"Thanks." She said, happy to take the compliment as always, "My use of magic is very limited though, thus why I fight more physically which I see you've noticed."

Helena said with the sneakiest of winks. Looking down at her body she wasn't quite as dirty as Milo was thanks to wearing her battle suit most of the fight. Attempting to swallow her saliva she realized how parched she was, the air wasn't too hot but exercise alone just asked for more water. Near the entry for the arena there was a water fountain, not some fancy one but an old one to which one would have to pump the arm to get clean water out of. Helena motioned for Milo to follow her over there so they could talk more and he could get some water himself. As she walked over she pulled her gloves off and tucked them away in her back left pocket.

Going up to the fountain the girl started pumping water out with one arm as it landed in her other hand to which she held close to her mouth. The lovely sensation of her thirst and dry throat being quenched made her eyes close with joy, after a few sips sculls of water she took one last handful of water and splashed it upwards at her head to run it through her hair. Stepping away she gestured at the fountain.

"Don't know what I'd do if this wasn't here. Probably be more prepared or something."

Though taking her calm and collective approach to Milo she could possibly be seen as kind and caring. After a battle like that she liked to see that her opponent had been looked after, that was of course if she thought they were worthy or nice enough.

His eyes wandered to the sky, as he briefly recalled the people he's met in his lifetime. "That's true," he agreed. "I've never met anyone named Milo either." Y'know, he never really thought of his name too much. Was it random or did his parents have it as an homage to someone? Huh, you would think these thoughts would've crossed his mind earlier, but he was too busy adventuring as a kid and meeting people to ever really ponder on these thoughts.

"Yeah, it wasn't anything crazy advanced, but it was very tactful. You probably fight a lot or have gone through some training, right?" He asked, wondering how she got so skilled. After all, he went through his entire life to physically and magically get to this point, so she might've had an interesting life of her own, especially since she too was a traveler. Milo just wanted to know more about it. He was a naturally friendly and curious person, so this was something he typically did.

As they went over to get water, she made a small comment about it before drinking, and he wouldn't mind letting her wait a couple seconds before replying. After all, he had just asked as they had gotten there, and they had just engaged in strenuous physical exertion, so. Why not indulge in hydration, one of the body's base needs and pleasures? Honestly, he was lucky she went first, since he didn't know how to use the contraption until watching her. He never really encountered such an old water fountain. To be honest, he wouldn't even have recognized it as a fountain from a distance.

As he went to drink, he didn't realize how thirsty he was. Yeah, his mouth was way dryer than he thought and by the time he came up for his first gasp of air, he felt like he had been swimming for hours. The gypsy had been a bit messy too, getting it all over his mouth and a bit of his face a bit, since he was going at it like a dog and bowl, despite not needing to. Following her lead, he put water on his face and hair, but with little self control he doused himself far too much. Then again, he really didn't know what too much meant. He laughed himself to a little bit as he did this, listening to her response, despite his own self amusement.

"Yeah I suppose a bit of training has been done here and there but I've mostly learnt what I know here in the Coliseum with other warriors either training or entering tournaments."

Said Helena as she placed her hands in her pockets and kicked one of her feet on the ground lightly. There wasn't much the two would do after using so much energy but talk really and begin the recovery process. Moving closer to the stands the girl lightly jumped up to sit on the edge with her legs dangling. Watching him as he drank the water and chuckled to himself the girl gave a mockingly, condescending stare before blinking her eyes and smiling to herself momentarily.

"So where did you come from?"

She asked, getting a little nosy over this person she had just sparred with. The girl usually just beat people up and they'd part ways, her opponents usually sore and angry over a girl beating them. It was nice to see that Milo wasn't sexist in this way, or at least he didn't seem that way at all.
