So annoying.

Anling had been wiping his hands, an ichor smothering them with bits and pieces of skull. He hunted slavers, taking their money and letting the herd flee. It wasn't caused by heroism, only a sense of vengeance and inflicting pain upon those who followed a path similar to the people who made him live through a metaphorical hell. He used the body as a pedestal for one foot, using an undistinguished spell of fire, he scorched the body with a black pyre that quickly consumed the flesh. He walked away from the body, using spacial magic to rid him of the blood that stained. Stretching and cracking his neck, Anling left a shack that contained the body of a supposed slaver. Whipping his hand towards the structure, he let out a jet of fire that consumed the wood of the shack. It didn't take long to create a beacon of light, but Anling did not care. There was a large bag of munny which elevated at the presence of Anling through the use of spacial magic. It floated and followed him as he journeyed to follow his appointment for the land he was going to buy to build his forge for both metal and magic.

It was not a far walk to reach the outskirts of Enchanted Dominion, but he had quite the walk ahead of him so he levitated and glided forward with the munny behind him. Reaching the appointment, he scared the man whom was there to make a deal with him. Looking at Anling, he made a stern face, as if he was ready to be a bearer of bad news. "Sorry, Mr. Djinn. The land has been purchased by a rather wealthy corporation, they were intending the same thing...but named a higher price." Anling, furious, prepared to burn the man alive but knew they were in public and stopped. "What!? I already had an appointment to buy this land. This must be illegal! Ugh....leave." the man tried to contest Anling's words but felt frightened, leaving as Anling stood and thought on what to do next. Kill the competition. Simple as that. I just need to wait it out. I should purchase some things from the apothecary first... he decided to leave the area he was going to buy, taking his money with him and holding it over his shoulder. He was soon in the streets, infuriated by the light of day, as in the news he received.

Pon's day was the same as usual. Petty theft, scrounging, and the occasional bit of begging which ultimately got her nowhere. It was the same day in Enchanted Dominion for her as it was yesterday -- making enough to afford necessities and being careful enough to avoid being tossed within a cell. In the end she was satisfied with this however. Did she desire more? Of course. But life wasn't often thrilling nor rewarding and the best option was simply to enjoy what she could -- even if it wasn't much.

Her hands slipped in and out of the pockets of careless commoners in routine as she walked through the streets. However sometimes routines change. Not everyone has the same destination and with most of the crowd going in separate directions the girl soon found herself lost. Unsure of where to go having never encountered a situation like this before, Pon continued forwards searching for pockets to pick and finding herself lost.

Eventually she came to her senses and stopped; beginning to look around at her surroundings. There was a nearby property where two men discussed something she couldn't seem to hear. It seemed the best course of action would be to ask one of them -- though as she approached she noticed the other man storming off and the sound of cash bouncing around. He seemed to be carrying something over his shoulder and with the sound of money ringing in her ears she began to think that today there could be more spoils than usual. Without further adieu she casually pulled up her hood and followed him from a distance while avoiding looking at him too much in order to make sure to avoid suspicion. It was with him entering the street however that the girl entered her natural environment and began to switch from moving crowd to moving crowd -- her short height allowing her to do so. Luckily enough for her the crowd had diminished a bit at the least and with the decrease she was able to follow the man more easily.

It was only as she began to close in on him though that she actually began to wonder how she was going to go about this. There was a difference between picking pockets within a crowd and attempting to pull out a handful of cash in broad daylight from a large bag of money. Without watching where she was going now she ended up tripping -- falling straight towards him in a collision where attention would surely be attracted should he not move out of impact's way.

Anling had peacefully strolled along, prepared to wisp his money away with magic had a single coin fell into a beggar's hands. He saw them as thieves, nothing more than the rot that failed to succeed in sinking a more fortunate being in famine. He stood proud as he walked, but without a moment's notice he was sent to the ground like a weakling, his money soaring in front of him, watching it spew out with the golden coin that was pawned around the Dominion. Beggars soon closed in but in fury, Anling let them rise into the air, the form that they breathed being stolen from their bodies as he formed a magical aura around their bodies, constricting them. Soon it faded at the moment the public decided to open their eyes. He gripped the bag he used and with a polarity, sucking in the money that had escaped. Turning, he had a look of fury washing over him as he stared down at the girl who had fallen upon him. "Do you know who you disturbed, girl?"

In his mind, he pictured skies of black and streets of blood, a pike held by the land as it made sure the girl was bound to it by piercing the veil of flesh that covered her torso. But shaking his head, he banished the thought and returned to reality. He was quite the mage, but knew he couldn't flaunt it like he just did in terms of violence. Anling was one that had been slipping in both guise and sanity, and he needed stability soon or he will not last. The girl seemed poor, much like he was at one point before he looted the professional thieves outside of civilization. He was once a stray, not long after achieving his freedom and eventually becoming "Djinn" which had been his alias and physical facade. Both were wretched people, but truly he tried gaining the respect of others...only to get close enough to tie the strings upon their joints. Anling was quite the demon, one that even contemplated enslaving the poor for his own use, knowing scraps would keep them following.

Pon was knocked backwards now and fell to the ground as beggars rushed to collect the coins. Suddenly however they stopped and a strange aura floated around them -- their bodies going limp and the previous expression on their face chained onto them as they became unable to express the fear surging through their minds. Onlookers came soon and the man let the beggars go -- scurrying off quick as a whistle.

The girl herself was in shock of the magic used. Perhaps he had no intent to hurt them and was simply defending his coin but seconds later he had sucked it all back up without any trouble. Couldn't he have done that from the start? None the less it didn't matter. What mattered was the current situation and in the end it seemed that the best option available to Pon was simply to apologize and attempt to scurry off like the orphans. If he hadn't used that magic perhaps she could have helped in putting the money back and have stolen some of them as well in the process but even if that were the case she'd be in definite trouble if she were to have gotten caught.

"S-Sorry sir, I hadn't been watching 'ere I was going. Meant nothing of it."

With that apology she would then attempt to simply walk past him -- hoping to move on and avoid any potential further trouble.

It was the sound of terror that brought him. The sound of terrified beggars attracted the attention of him. Why? A multitude of reasons that were about to be listed. The love of terror. The excitement of perhaps, something stronger than him. And, the spoils of war.

It had simply started with the monster of a machination standing against a small hut, hidden from the rest of the world's society. He waited, and waited, and waited, but then, something else attracted him instead of the possible fool that was usually interested in him. He turned, to see what was happening. It was a very interesting scene, to watch the beggars being attacked like that, and to see the odd creature known as Anling use such interesting magic. Feisu was not a master of magics, but he did enjoy them when presented. They offered a good challenge in his hunt.

Then came the young woman, who peaked the mech's interest. Such a bold move for a mere child to attempt to disturb this creature. Finally, he had had enough of being the bystander. He walked out from the hut, getting directly into the path of a running beggar. The poor man bumped into Feisu, and looked up, with a face of pure terror. Before he could react, a metallic tendril emerged from Feisu's back, and grabbed the beggar by the back of his collar with the tendril's pincer. The man squirmed, and whimpered in fear, before the mech just threw him aside, into the wall of the hut, knocking him out of consciousness. Then, Feisu started to approach Anling, and Pon.

"Is there no method to this madness?"
