"That I did, Dravocn. Thank you for casting it on me." Xoen said, looking over the boy as he spoke. Unlike the one he helped to her feet, he appeared incredibly exhausted. With the black knight having left the battlefield only after a small amount of combat, he didn't exhibit the same signs. Sure he was sweating slightly, but other than that he eluded the fatigue of battle. He did feel a twinge of guilt for doing what he did, but he had to conserve his energy for the task ahead. Opening a pathway into the interior of that dreaded blight upon the land would be no easy task. Hopefully their troubles have ended, at least for now.
How did so many heartless gather in that area? The last time he made a trip out to the Dark Depths he didn't have this large of a problem. Only a few squads of heartless dotted the area. However, that now wasn't áthe case, the three were forced to take out an almost literal flood of heartless. Did they simply flee the city to gather in the maw in mass, or was there something darker afoot? Xoen shivered at the thought of something leading these heartless, gathering them for a greater task at hand. In spite of how he felt, he still intended on providing the two with the view they wanted to see.
"Alright, with that bit of business out of the way, we can take a break here if need be." He spoke with an air of confidence rather than reluctance. The last thing he desired was to put his companions into the same paranoid state as he. Though, before he could say anything more, thunder rumbled in the distance. Looking beyond the decrepit castle lightning arched across the sky, however that was many miles away. It was likely that the storm would head their way within a few hours, and it would become an issue should they stay in the castle.
Noticing the size, it might take them a while to reach the balcony at the top of the central spire Xoen could see. Putting his attention on the overlook he swore he could have saw someone or something staring back. As soon as he blinked, the figure was gone, as though there were nothing there at all.
"However, I suggest we should go back and try another day. We have no provisions or rucksacks. If we explore this place we'll end up caught in the storm and forced to stay the night." Looking over the two he waited for an answer.
