Nex is a reserved individual with a passion for literature and a cynical outlook on the living, as well as a nihilistic way of looking at life.
She often pushes others away and tends to stray away from getting too close to be people considering her profession and how attachment could potentially make it difficult should those she call friends find themselves mixed up in her duties on the wrong side. Despite how she tends to avoid getting close to others she's still willing to work with them but will valiantly resist attempts at bonding with her in any sort of positive way, shape, or form
Nex likes to think of herself as sarcastic and witty as well as somewhat of a philosopher. To her, life is nothing but a meaningless trip to the grave and though she believes people have the right to choose whether they go through it or not she personally believes that doing so is rather idiotic. In her eyes, death is when the real journey begins; specifically the life that comes after death.
Nex is also a clear misotheist when it comes to the God of Death, Thanatos. While she admires death she hates the God himself and believes that he seeks to just use it as a way to enslave others like he did to her. She's rather bitter and resentful towards him; displaying a clear desire to go against his wishes that's only been kept suppressed by the consequences that would come from defying him.
Finally, Nex is what people would call a stoic. She displays little emotion and appears to be apathetic: also speaking in a monotone on occasion to put the icing on the cake. Despite this, she isn't actually apathetic and can feel emotions just like everyone else can; she's just good at hiding it.

Poena Addo: Poena Addo, or Pain Bringer when translated to English, is Nex's signature weapon. It's an orichalcum sword of medium length with her name engraved into it and silver linings running across it. The weapon itself also lashes out against the soul with each strike and upon death of the opponent it has a chance of dragging the soul into the Underworld; though this is simply a plot ability and it will be left up to the person reacting to decide on whether or not this occurs.
Unnamed: An unnamed steel dagger that is often wielded alongside Poena Addo.

Thanatos's Blessing: As per the contract, Nex will not die unless her soul is destroyed and will instead return to the Underworld upon death. After a week of IC time she will come back to life and rise from the dead as a weakened version of herself; losing one ability of the author's choosing that she had before death.
Memento Mori: After five posts of effortful charging, Nex can unleash a blast of blue fire all around her at a medium range and a high speed. The fire causes third degree burns to those caught within its embrace and will quickly spread within flammable areas. It will also result in the spread of a thick and murky mist wherever the flames go that will cause horrific hallucinations if the user doesn't resist the illusion the mist carries. These hallucinations will result in the victim feeling as though their skin is rotting and falling off to the ground all the way down to their skeleton; slowly and painfully one piece at a time. Vivid images of their worst nightmares will flash through their mind as this occurs and an extremely painful burning sensation will occur as well. As previously mentioned though, these are all hallucinations brought upon by illusionary magic. á
A Reaper With a Familiar Face: Nex can alter her appearance and voice to that of a person she's recently killed within the topic after making physical contact with their corpse.
Omega: After two posts of effortful charging, Nex will gain a minor boost to her physical strength that increases depending on how many hostile foes are left standing. For every foe currently present, Nex's boost will decrease in power.
After the post where it's activated finishes the boost will wear off.
Pyromaniac: Nex can masterfully manipulate flames to her will. She can also start fires at will and extinguish them too.
Tea Time with Demise: Nex and Thanatos have a telepathic link that allow them to contact one another regardless of the time or location so long as the other isn't in any state of unconsciousness. Thanatos may also takeover Nex's mind and body should he desire; possessing her. The latter effect doesn't need Nex to be conscious however, unlike the effect before it.
When possessed by Thanatos, Nex's eyes will turn an ominous yellow and she will begin to speak in a more masculine tone with a demonic echo following every word.
Teleportation: Though not instantaneous, Nex is able to teleport in the direction of her choosing. This also applies as a skill that allows her to summon her equipment in her hand; allowing her to teleport both herself and it.

The Underworld is the resting place for countless amounts of souls that roam it. To some it is a bleak and barren wasteland, to others a paradise. Since the dawn of time man and woman have lived and they have died; life being both given and taken by the living of the world. Humanity has become its own harbingers and its own reapers over the flow of time.
Thanatos, the God of Death, has sent the souls of mortals to the Underworld since the dawn of time. What many people don't know about though is that he has a certain group of servants that are more important than others. On rare occasion a person might be given a second chance to live outside the boundaries of the Underworld; to live their afterlife as they please without the worries of death so long as they abide by his rules. In exchange, these people have gone out and done Thanatos's will. They've been sent out across the worlds to gather the souls of mortals whose time has come and to guide them to the Underworld that beckons to them.
However, even a deity has their limitations.
While Thanatos could bring the souls of those who had already passed to the Underworld, he himself couldn't seize one that hadn't died yet through murdering them. Doing so was prohibited and as a result Thanatos's enemies could roam freely without worry of him coming after him. It was one day though that he noticed a loophole in the agreement.
While he couldn't directly bring death to mortals nothing had been said about his followers. They could be commanded to wipe out those who stood against him. After a bit of consideration however he realized that in the end such a thing wouldn't work out. The special group of servants he had founded over the years were too busy aiding him in guiding the fallen souls to the Underworld and it would ultimately be both tedious and inefficient to send them out as assassins. So, he gave up on the idea for a time and went back to his usual routine.
One day however, his hopes came to life in the form of a soul taken by death.
The girl couldn't remember her name or anything about her life, including the moment of her death. She was confused and alone without anyone to turn to for the answers; chained down to the Underworld with no hope of escape. While cases like these had happened before something about the girl caught Thanatos's eye and drawn him to her.
The God's memories of the loophole came flooding back to him now as he approached the girl and with a kindly smile on her face he offered his hand to the lost soul. On that day he promised her the chance to live a life without fear of death that could potentially allow her to sate her curiosity about her past life. She could do as she pleased once again in the universe they lived in; no longer caged inside the Underworld like a pet bird. All she had do in return was pledge her service to him.
Upon acceptance of the offer, Nex was given a new name by the God of Death and had the chains that bound her to the realm they called home severed. No longer was she a slave to the afterlife... No. She could go out into the world without worry or fear and find out who she was. She could experience life without the fear of losing it... all thanks to death.
It didn't take long for her to realize that she had been na´ve in her decision however. Thanatos quickly began sending her off onto missions, treating her not as a partner but as property and threatening to revoke the contract if she didn't hold up her end of the deal; sending her back to the Underworld that she had just escaped or worse. Without a choice in the matter she would end up gathering up souls for Thanatos as his personal slave and assassin. At first it was hard but eventually she slowly grew used to it and it became a natural thing for her; adapting to it as animals did to changes in their life and environment.
This cycle continued for three years and throughout it she had studied various things. Human nature, philosophy, and methods of combat were all things she had taken in an interest in. With no other choice she was prepared to continue the usual routine. However, Thanatos said something that day that surprised her...
He wanted her to take control over the Underworld.
