Busy Times (Open) Empty Busy Times (Open)

Post by Oriel on October 1st 2013, 5:31 pm

Oriel entered this world arriving at the Guillotine Plaza. It was night as always and the citizens were all rushing about. It was only a month to go til the biggest even of the year in this town! Upon arrival the girl's appearance changed to look just as scary as the citizens of this world. Her skin went completely pale, her eyes glowing bright red, the dress she wore was white and tattered to the point where the front was shorter than the back, and the boots she wore were a bit more dark that what she'd normally wear - spiked platform boots.

The girl looked around, a little frightened however the feeling faded after none of the citizens really tried to scare or attack her. Her eyes peered around then down to her hands which she could see the ground through. A smile streaked across her face as she began to walk around the Plaza, citizens around her complimenting her outfit then carrying on with their preparations. Checking out the gates and upper ledges of this plaza Oriel ended up in front of the fountain. The guillotine went up and down in time with a small tune that could be heard in the background of all the ruckus. Green liquids spat out at her, the girl jumping back. It didn't look like it was as friendly as water.

Discovering the guillotine plaza Oriel decided to carry on. She walked over to a gate which would lead her to the graveyard. The way this world looked amazed the girl. The lines on the ground leading up to the hill that curled around, graves everywhere though people being fine with being in the graveyard. Oriel made her way to the top of the hill where she sat gazing at the big round moon. She would have asked what everyone was getting ready for if only it weren't for her shyness.

Little would the girl realize that she was not alone in that graveyard. Not by any means. Then again nor would her company realize much the same in vice versa. Sat down underneath the peak of the swirled hill. In a feral style of doing do. Much like the animal she was forced to be at the moment. Was a red and black wolf that resembled humanoid traits in it's overall bodily structure. A werewolf if you will. Having been forced to transform upon arrival into this world. It was safe to assume the human behind the creature was none other than a visitor that made common appearances every now and again. Her reason for doing so this time. She had been helping out with the preparations around time. If she intended to rule this world at some point. Then she would have to show she was willing to go the mile for it and the people that inhabited it. Which she more than was. Though having spent most of the day doing whatever the citizens had asked of her. The Eternal Flame was taking a little rest in the solitude of the graveyard. Her demonic glowing eyes fixated on the eery moon above. This world was a splendid treasure to behold. Like it always was. She had a deep appreciation for this world and the peculiarities that mad it unique. For that matter, she always would. Completely unaware that she was joined by another person. Axis raised her muzzle to the sky and let free a wicked howl. A tribute to the approaching festivities that were only days away. She would not realize the presence of another female that was right above her.

Hearing the howl of a wold Oriel jumped a little where she sat. Her gaze at the moon was interrupted with sheer surprise of the fact that she was not alone. It was the first fright she had been given in this town. Though the girl had gotten use to the scary appearance and sounds of this place and the feeling of fear would be replaced with curiosity. Hearing that the howl came from underneath the swirl of the hill Oriel stood up. Walking to the very end of the hill where she would still be able to stand the girl laid on her stomach to pop her head down to where the werewolf was. Oriel would look quite obvious with the pale glow of her see through appearance and gloomy red eyes, the werewolf would definitely notice her. Being the only person not working away like the citizens Oriel sprouted out with the courage to speak to a stranger.

"Hi, do you know what's going on around here?"

She asked. The assumption the girl made as she had only just noticed the werewolf sitting there was that she wasn't exactly a part of what was going on. Oriel would most likely be mistaken but asking would be the only way to find such things out.

Axis was just about to let out one more howl to the stars above. When she was interrupted by the sudden appearance of a ghostly figure. Quite literally so in fact. It was another female who had taken the form of such. No one that Axis was able to recognize. Which mean't that this was someone who didn't necessarily belong to this world. Another outside visitor just like herself. This idea was assured when the woman asked about the commotion that had overtook the town. She clearly did not know what was going on.  When Axis had finally realized there was someone else with her in the graveyard. She turned to face the unknown woman. Rising from her sitting position to her full posture. Her tail swaying back and forth contently. Axis would sniff at the girl for a second or two out of instinct. Before being able to say anything. "I take it by that question. Your not exactly from around here." Although her appearance spoke dangerous measures. Axis remained friendly towards Oriel. She had no reason to act otherwise. "Everyone is getting ready for the biggest night of the year. Hallows Eve. Or as the modern day calls it. Halloween."

Oriel had made it obvious that she wasn't from the world simply by asking that question and the female before her was quick to notice it. The girl wouldn't take any sort of bad reaction from it, she was new to her travels as well as very new to this world. The third world she had been to since leaving Destiny Islands. Oriel nodded to the werewolf's assumption, even if she didn't the female would know she wasn't from around here. Hearing about the festivities about to happen a grin appeared on Oriel's face. Halloween! The fact that it was the biggest event of the year around here explained a lot to her.

"Oh... That explains a lot.."

Suddenly the girl's mind filled with questions, if she wasn't currently helping out maybe she was a traveler too. Someone who knew about this world and it's treasures would surely come back to visit around this time of the year perhaps to join in. Oriel was just glad this was one of those world's she visited first to make it here to know and enjoy the festivities. It was like all the hype for Christmas but Halloween.

"Are you not from here too? Visiting for the festival? I just thought so cause.. everyone else is going crazy with preparing.."

Oriel asked, her voice trailing off into a shy tone. She didn't want to sound too pushy and annoying but curiosity took hold of her as it normally did with every new world and stranger she came across.

At the mention of the Halloween preparations Oriel's face bared a grin. A signal to impending excitement. More than likely. A natural reaction expected of most people. Especially in a world such as this. That harboured the single holiday almost as a daily religion. Not that it was a bad thing. It gave the world a unique flare that was unlike any other. A main reason to the appreciation and fondness Axis felt for it. She held pride towards the unconventionally bizarre atmosphere. The attentive expression in the ghostly female's appearance would be the cue to a question. No doubt she had many. Not that Axis minded by any means. The girl seem intrigued in the whole concept of the town and it's cultural aspects. Or at least the portion about their holiday preparation. Either way the wolven nobody would be more than content as well as capable of answering any inquires made by the girl. With as much time as she had spent in this world. Axis had more than a plethora of knowledge about it. Enough to satiate whatever Oriel wanted to know.

The first question that Oriel did ask was a little odd. Somehow she assumed that Axis was not of this world. Which she was right to do so. Though there was more reason for the Eternal Flame to be here than most visitors that simply passed through. This had once been a home, a sanctuary, a save haven to her. Much like Space Paranoids was right now. Halloween Town still remained that way in her opinion as well. Which is why she often found herself traversing it's terrain for the sake of nostalgic comfort and remembrance. A lot had happened here for her. Most for the better. Hence why she held so firmly to the world. Adamant with her obsession for it. Unable to think otherwise against it. "I actually used to live her at one point. I come back every so often to visit. This time though, I came to help with the preparations. Just figured I'd take a little break out here is all." Axis would not mention her intentions further beyond that. There was no need. Yes, there were other reasons pertaining to her presence in this town. Plans that were silently but surely being put into action. But those were of no concern nor consequence to the girl. They definitely didn't need to be out publically just yet either. "How bout you? What brings you to the land of terrors, Miss?" Axis would press for the girl's name at the end of her sentence. Hinting that introductions were in order. The two had spent enough time talking already. Might as well get acquainted with each other at least.

Listening to what the werewolf had to offer in terms of being from this world or not Oriel would keep a kind polite gaze. It wasn't easy for Oriel to understand why she would live in this world, the girl liked it, but herself, she couldn't deal with the constant night time. If this was a break the ghostly girl could only begin to think of what other worlds were like that she hadn't been to yet. Her travels hadn't taken her too far yet, though she wasn't going to rush any of her travels just to see what was out there. The conversation had gone on long enough for it to be fair to ask for a name, the werewolf doing so in a nice way rather than just 'who are you?'

"Oh, I'm Oriel. I've just recently started traveling and I guess.. I just came across this world.. didn't know this is what it was.."

Replied Oriel. Her tone was rather casual and friendly. There was something about the scariness of this world that somewhat broke the girl out of her shell. It was probably the fact it was about a holiday where people could dress as something they're not. Suddenly Oriel was beginning to understand this world as an escape, perhaps not in the best way but she did enjoy being a ghost for the meanwhile.

"Quite a pleasant surprise."

"It's a pleasure Oriel. I'm Axis." She naturally would return the favor with her own name. It was only appropriate after all. That's how introductions were suppose to work. Well, usually anyway. There was always some odd ones every now and then. Upon introducing herself Axis would bow her head towards Oriel. A sign of hospitality at it's finest. Though outdated. It was just something that she did to make the meeting more meaningful. Even though the girl had been caught up in a fluster of shy behaviour earlier on. Or so Axis had been able to take note of without letting on. It appeared that she was starting to get more comfortable. The tone in her voice was becoming more casual and friendly. A sign that she must of felt the conversation going well enough to be okay with. This was pleasing to the wolven nobody. If people could open up around her like that. Then all was as well as it should be.

"For all it's oddities. This world can be quite the pleasant experience to behold." Axis further added to Oriel's next comment. "It just needs to be given a chance is all." Such truth. Beneath fear and terror was an absolutely astounding world with so much enriched culture and society. It may not seem so at first glance. But the town held wonders and potential galore. Assuming one took the time to get to know the world as she and few others had in the past and still did to this day. People would be better for it. If they could look at the world beyond it's stereotype. Not that it didn't have it's benefits also. "Since your new and all. Why don't I should you around? You might see some things you like. Make a friend or two. All that fun stuff." Since the girl was a rookie to the concept of world travel. Axis would help her in any way possible. The wolf was well seasoned in the ways of the universe and the worlds that inhabited it. Though she did not know them all. She had explored a vast majority of them in her lifetime thus far. If anything, she could share her experience with Oriel if needed or even prompted to.

Noting that Axis was quite traditional in giving a small bow of the head after an introduction Oriel would return it with a smile. It wasn't often she came across someone like that anymore, one of the older people at the orphanage used to do it to everyone who came into the home. The girl was quite new school, so it wouldn't be something of habit for her to return the bow. Oriel now found herself lucky meeting someone new like Axis. The girl knew of her own awkward and shyness but she really did try to open up a bit more and most of the times she had done so had benefited her.

Listening to what truths Axis told her about this world Oriel was plain excited when she offered to show the rookie traveler around. The werewolf would also have a lot of knowledge of this world seeing as she had lived her for awhile before. This brought joy and excitement to the girl, the world appearance grasping ahold of her as her voice let out ghost noises as she spoke.

"It's lovely to meet you Axis, it wooOOould be really cool if you would show me around."

Catching her mouth with her hand after speaking Oriel gave a small chuckle. Excited and ready to be shown around the girl leaned forward, holding the other side of the thin part of the hill she swung down like a kid on a playground, landing on her feet near the werewolf. She examined the werewolf's full posture, admiring the black and red fur she had, her humanoid features still somewhat visible through her Halloween Town appearance. Catching herself just staring at Axis she would speak.

"Oh, sorry I was just admiring your coat, your appearance in this world is really cool."

She paused, having a think about how the female would recognize her in another world should they meet again. Ready to go she spoke again, a clear voice that would show a hint of excitement.

"Would you like to lead the way?"
