I propose that we have levels of magic, like fire, fira, firaga as a seperate thing from a spell.

Generally, in KH, whenever there was an advancement in spell levels, it replaced the spell instead of adding to the list. Due to this, I suggest there being a way to obtain levels of spells for each spell. Like, after x amount of posts we recieve ONE spell level up. For example, my spell Nyx would become Nyrax or Nyra. It would be the same ability pretty much but with a few appearance differences, power difference, and range difference. Maybe the effect is carried out slightly differently but in the end, it is the same spell, just more powerful. Though to obtain a level up in spells it should take longer than obtaining the spell itself. Say, for example, the amount of possible level ups is equal to the amount of half or less the possible number of obtainable spells.

What is the point of wasting a slot to switch from Fire to Fira? We aren't learning a new spell, just a more advanced version of what we already have. Maybe the third spell in set of 3 obtained could also bring a level up.

What I mean:

X amount of posts unlocks yet another spell.
X amount of posts unlocks yet another spel
X amount of posts unlocks yet another spell AND a spell level.

It could be an and/or thing. Some way to advance our skills in the way we see it to where it truely brings out the "primary, secondary, tertiary" factors. Say, primary can become -ga level but secondary can only be -ra level. I am not sure about -agun though.

I don't really think this is a good idea. If you want to start out with a light spell, and no not the element light, I mean as in a light damage spell... Well you'd be forced to use something strong. Plus with the MP costs you'd drain MP no matter what, rather than being able to choose whether you want to use a 5 MP spell or a 60 MP one.

Sorry if I worded this in a confusing way but the point is, I'm fine with the system the way it is.

I just thought of it and wanted to share it.

Then again, leveling a spell in KH didn't drastically increase the mp cost. A 5 mp (base spell) wouldn't have a 55 mp difference with its 3rd level spell. The changes don't have to be drastic nor does the part about REPLACING the previous level(s) would have to be applied.

Yes but in terms of change, on the site it typically would have that increase. It all depends on the power of the spell. Something that leaves a minor scar on someone's shoulder will probably cost 5 MP, but if the upgrade were something that could shatter the bones within the shoulder with just one use it'd probably end up costing 195 mana in that case. It would all depend on whether they would want to simply increase the power by a little, or a lot.

Referring to the changes in power in KH, they weren't that drastic either (except for Thunder, Cure, Aero, and Stop) so in a form, if we tried, it would work.

I'd rather not make a predetermined list of spells; it gives me the feeling of mmorph leveling and grants power based on post count versus actual rping to an extent.

In the video game Drakar, not on the site. What I exactly said would be in most cases how it would reflect with this, it'd just be you losing the option to use a lower leveled spell to save MP from my eyes. With forms, there never were changes with them from what I've seen, so it couldn't apply to them with the current argument being that it worked in the games. Also I highly doubt anyone would be willing to update their spell if it were only minor changes, as it would be easier and practicully the same to stick with how it is.
