Hand Crossbow: Partner Character Weapon

Name: Hand Crossbow

Type Of Weapon: Hand Crossbow

Primary/Secondary: Secondary

Ability/Function: A small crossbow that can be wielded in a single hand. It's string can be pulled back and set in place with one hand. Fires small steel bolts.

Close/Long Range: Short Range (most effective within ten feet)

History: Balendin bought this weapon as a gift for Royce to celebrate his acceptance of Balendin's offer to become Captain of his personal guard. It cost Balendin quite a bit of money since it was made in Spain by master weaponcrafters and had to be shipped to Balendin's castle in France.

Is that implying that you're able to reload it with the same hand that's holding the crossbow? Or is it simply saying that it only takes one hand, the wielders free hand, to physically pull the string back?

The second one. You would have to use two hands to fire this crossbow multiple times. One hand would be to hold the handle and pull the trigger and your other hand to pull back the string and set the bolt in place.
