Knight for Hire (OPEN)

on April 5th 2017, 8:34 pm
As much as Galter was respected in his home, his skillset was limited. He was no diplomat, nor was he clever with machines or adept with the soul magics he'd sometimes see. Inside and out, he was a warrior, and in the eyes of many, he was a powerful one. No arms skill would substitute a ship, though, and it was for that reason that he was still in this dark town, wandering this way and that in search of bounty notices.

What struck him as odd was that, no matter how far he went, he couldn't find anything. It was not like the peasant cities, where people would regularly offer fortunes and even tools or other equipment in exchange for the services of an adequate warrior. The walls here didn't have any such statements to share, and it bothered him. Here, the Heartless seemed to be a routine part of life, and yet people were somehow more content than any of his Lord's citizens. From what he could tell, there may not have even been a defined ruler here. What sort of nonsense defined these people?

It didn't help that he constantly found himself lost. Again and again, he would be walking along the same street, or pass through a gate and come out at the first courtyard, then go back through and appear somewhere completely different. He had seen strong magics at play in this place, and he began to wonder if maybe it wasn't his poor navigational skills leading him in circles...
