Great yet Subtle Change (Open)

Post by Rou2 on June 10th 2014, 8:26 am

In a modern town, there were kids running around and adults relaxing. It was summer. Summer vacation for the students. The sky was clear, the sum was shining, and the air was hot enough to justify a trip to the beach and get ice cream. Many people were relaxing, not a care in the world. As it should be. Twilight Town was a peaceful place, except for the occasional kids getting into fights. That could be attributed to the Struggle Tournaments, which was a game where you beat your opponent into submission with a plastic bat. Even with these oddly violent sports, the town was peaceful.

However (as there always seems to be a however with these type of things), unbeknownst to the inhabitants of the world, and to every other world in the universe, a new danger would be coming, and bringing with it great but subtle change. This new danger would come be to be known as the Memories, creatures that dealt in memories of the heart. They would devour their way into worlds, creating new doorways. Any citizen may notice the appearance of the Nobodies, but only few would notice the new doorway from their world.

Small, curious looking creatures skirted around the sides of buildings and under the shadows of alleys. They scurried around, similar to how a wild dog or rat would. They were in all colors and sizes, though mostly were no bigger than a large dog. These strange creatures wondered aimlessly around. They were unnoticed for now, but that was bound to change soon enough. There were several dozens of them, so somebody would notice them one way or another. But what would happen then? Would they become hostile and attack when discovered? Would they just ignore any human who came across them?

Danger peeked its head around the corner. A small pup rounded the sharp vertex of a tall building to find a broken entrance to a forest of some kind, with trees that seemed to invade the clouds. Birds chirped, as more followed in, smelling and feeling everything they could get their greedy hands on, as if information was a currency and they were the poor dumped amongst dunes of gold.

Among the trees a particular bird adorned in scarlet feathers could be seen swooping upon the masses of ever-growing Memories, some of them crowding around and slashing at the winged creature. With a single swoop of his very tiny wing while hovering above them, a small burst of wind shot forth from sheer strength alone, powerful enough to slide the small creatures back a bit. Before they could retaliate, the bird did what seemed like shivering. But instead, it was speaking to its brethren.

They halted, cocked their heads, and moved along. Just another one of them, as it were.

Wasure flew towards the crack, ceasing his flapping and landing on blank air, as if it were solid. From there, a shoulder materialized from a black  mist, which gave way to a body, muscular and tall. Each step made no sound, each movement of the shade with a near-complete body bringing him closer to a light new to the forest, as the tree-cover blocked the sun's reach. Just before he would become visible to those looking inside of the hole, the Samurai's face became whole, the last piece to fall in the domino of his formation. The sparrow rested on his shoulder, cooing at the extension happily. The rest had seeped through, and now he just needed to retrieve his sword.

Memories flooded past him as he stepped through the portal the hole served, entering the domain of light for the first time since his conception. All of his kin looked so... inferior. Hell's Sparrow sought the sun, using his right wing as a visor while his illusion did the same with his arm, for appearances. The glowing orb could be seen through Wasure's peripheral vision, but just for a moment he stared at it straight on, just to witness its glory for once. He loved the sun.

Lowering both arms, the feathery Memory scanned the area to look for pedestrians in need: the bird's soft spot for humans was near-fatal. Seeing none, he continued to the next area, the 'Sandlot' in search for humans in need or vessels in need of a stowaway. Plus, that's where his sword was.

Hopefully, now that the doors were open to him, Wasure could find information on his past life. For closure or instinct, his goal remained the same.

As he strode, his red feathers became sleek in appearance because of the sun's assault, with his illusion appearing perfectly comfortable. There was no one really paying attention, so there was no need to keep up more than the basics at the moment.

Zeferoth made his way slowly but surly out of the forests of Twilight Town. He was not yet used to moving his body so much. Each move seem to be taxing causing him to take many breaks. He sat down on a stump looking at his hands. Why were they so weak?. He took the time to evaluate his situation. He had no idea who he is except his name, he doesn't how where he is. All he does know is that he is hungry. He sensed hearts nearby. A large collection of them. Once again he lifted his body off the ground and walked the town.

He kept to the allies and dark areas where ever he could. He knew that he needed stealth in order to take his prey without alerting everyone else. Using his newly found ability to muffle his movements, Zeferoth walked out of the alley seeing a man walking to him. Zeferoth retreated into the alley an idea popping in his head.

"Hey you, can you give me some help?" He called weakly from the ally. The man turned to look inside seeing Zeferoth slumped against the wall. The man predictably came close to see if he could help. Zeferoth smiled and his clawed hands punched through the man's chest. Before the man's terror stricken gaze, Zeferoth pulled his heart from his chest. The man faded into darkness as he started devouring the heart.

That one heart would sate him for a while. He felt strength returning to him. He sat up and continued to make his way to the sandlot. The white haired boy looked around with his crimson eyes. He saw a few kids fighting with bats. He then saw a man that felt strange. With everyone else he could sense their hearts, but he could not with his one. Maybe he was a heartless like himself. He decided to shadow the man and see for himself.

Sitting atop the tram were a boy and a girl. Both had the same deep blue hair and the same ice-blue eyes. The boy was considerably taller and older, being around the age of seventeen. He wore a blue t-shirt with "teh" scrawled across the front and jeans. The girl was younger, with her hair reaching towards her waist. She was wearing a blue sweater and a mini-skirt, though didn't seem bothered by the summer weather. She was about thirteens years old.

"Hey Sic, are you gonna to practice using your element later?" asked the girl, kicking her legs methodically. Her head was tilted and she was looking in the distance, admiring how the light hit the buildings in the signature way.

Sicarius shrugged. "Probably, Mana," he said as he yawned. Heat always made him tired and all he wanted to do was nap. "I'm guessing you want to come with me?"

Mana nodded. Not excitedly or anything, just a simple nod. "Yeah. I finished my summer homework and just wanted to start using magic more, like you do," she said.

Sicarius didn't say anything for a bit. He didn't mind his sister tagging along. She behaved herself well and wasn't annoying, like how he found most other kids her age. Though, he was worried that Mana was spending too much time with him, or alone. She didn't seem particularly interested in hanging out with anybody else. Which could have been inherited from him, as Sicarius himself found everybody to be boring. He wasn't sure why this bothered him, though.

He sighed, though something out of the corner of his eye caught his attention. In an ally way, there was something scurrying. Like an animal, but the shape wasn't right. It was too angular, and it was bright red. It seemed to sniffed around. Without wasting a second, Sicarius jumped off of the tram and approached it. Mana was quick to follow.

As the duo neared, they got a clearer look at the odd being. It was red and reptilian, resembling that of a Labrador dog in size. Its body seemed to be on fire, though it wasn't in any obvious pain from it. As Sicarius and Mana noticed it, it noticed them. It turned it head towards them and the pair froze. They stared at one another, unsure of what to do. Was this thing a threat? Or was it harmless?

"Um...yo," Sicarius said with a wave.

Wasure cooed as his Samurai turned to meet two distant bodies, strokes of blue in a moving canvas. Then, in the corner of his eye, a splotch of red. Through his piercing, tiny eyes, the lizard bled red memoric magick. Should he continue to the sandlot, or glide his way to interrupt the clashing archetypes of color? Both the illusion and the bird turning heads toward the Sandlot, contemplation bounced around for a moment. Then, a smile crept on the Samurai's face. With near impossible speed for a bird his size, Hell's Sparrow zoomed off in that direction, the Samurai de-materializing behind him. Dust picked up as the bird flapped once, twice, then a third time before the distance was closed, landing on a nearby building as the trail of dirt caught up with him , finally. The tiny billow flew in-between the duo and lizard dramatically, and the bird was curious as if who saw his quick flight. He protectively encased himself in a small illusionary shell that rendered him a normal bird to senses and sensory magicks.

Aside the lizard, the Samurai illusion would appear out of a dark mist, this time radiating illusion magick that doubled to make him seen as a Memory, so the lizard would not attack him. The Illusion spoke softly to the young reptile.

"Scamper along, young one. Grow up big and strong." The Samurai had knelt, placing a solidified hand on its head, petting it. The fire obviously didn't bother the figment, as he could not burn him. The lizard eyed him suspiciously, backed up, then make a shriek of some sort. Wasure was unsure if it was in recognition, anger, or another emotion that the bird had already forgotten. However, it was clear that it had not accepted his condescending attempt at 'love' when more came out of the woodworks, mostly from atop buildings and around corners. The heat must have amplified, for even the bird could feel the warmth. Closing its beady eyes, Hell's Sparrow imagined another bird, one the size of a hawk, circling over the Sandlot, swooping down to take a toy weapon that seemed just a bit too big and misshapen.

A shadow appeared over the Samurai as the hawk the maestro had illusion dropped the plastic weapon overhead, before disappearing into a black mist itself. The gold-handled blue bat of sorts landed in the Samurai's awaiting, outstretched hand: when it did, it shed its form in a dazzling light, revealing the Demon Sword. Hiding such an artifact in plain sight was the greatest protection while the bird rested.

"Or die a wyrm. I, unfortunately, cannot let you harm this lovely lady and her... colorful companion, if that is your intention or not. However, knowing what a little parasite you can be, its safe to assume that its dinnertime for you. How rude.

The blade was hooked onto his back before the Samurai released the Demon Sword from its sheath, its magickal properties allowing the illusion to hold it without the effort of maintaining a solid form. Smiling, he pointed the razor-sharp katana towards the cold-blooded slugs, speaking to those behind him.

"Between us blue-haired brethren, I suggest you evacuate while I carve myself some new boots."

The heartless boy lost the man that he was fallowing and the bird that he was fallowing. It was as if it disappeared. The boy stopped thinking trying to sense it. No it was just moving really fast. He ran faster climbing on a nearby roof top. He fallowed where he sensed the strange presence until it too disappeared. This was starting to get confusing and frustrating.

Zeferoth looked down and saw a pair of blue haired kids standing in front of a...fire lizard? Before he could do anything the samurai appeared again. What was this guy? He squatted on the roof watching. He couldn't really hear what was going on, but he saw the samurai drawing his sword. He tensed waiting to see what will happen next.

Sicarius blinked in surprise as somebody seemed to appear from nothing next to the odd fiery creature. He pulled out his sword and said a few things. Sicarius frowned when he was called Mana's colorful companion. "Hey, you makin' fun of the way I look?" he asked, his tone offended. "Yeah, well, you talk weird. Using...old words and shit."

Mana rolled her eyes. "Are you gonna kill it?" she asked the strange man who had appeared. "Does that mean that thing is dangerous?" She didn't seem afraid (Sicarius wasn't either) of either the man or the creature.

A small chuckle escaped the illusion's lips. "I feel like it would be foolish to make fun of your blue hair, as we seem to have similar positions in that area. And I think I'll take that as a compliment." The Samurai tossed his sword lightly in the air over the nearest lizard, it spinning vertically at a slow pace.

"They're about as dangerous as a hungry cat. One is no problem-

The figment disappeared, the bird still watching overhead. The sword spun and spun, beginning to complete its arc as it hit its apex. If it continued, it would hit the ground behind the lizard who exuded flame. However, just as it hit that apex, the Samurai materialized in a dark mist overhead, hand grasping the hilt of the Demon Sword as he fell downwards in a position that seemed almost like standing, except he was holding the sword like a cane in a hunched position, applying force as he drove it down. The illusion had its knees bent, appearing to be bracing for impact, and a slightly contorted face to display him exerting strength. It was a straight 'drop drive'.

The Demon Sword ripped through the layers of flesh and crushed the bones as it eviscerated its foe, the Samurai figment smiling. He pulled the blade towards himself, tearing it from navel to gullet. Then, in a burst of energy, fire erupted from its now open stomach and swallowed the figment. A normal person would have been fried - even a mighty warrior would have been burned. While the flames still hid the illusion, he spun and swung his sword towards the building Wasure sat atop, the steel piercing into the wall. Then, as the fires settled, a burned Samurai was revealed. Terrible burns covered the illusion's arms and legs, but his face seemed fine, as if he had covered it. The injuries seemed normal for the small but extremely hot explosion, hopefully.

"Ok, well...don't open them up...and they're not a problem...at least." The illusion would speak, falling to one knee, forcibly placing his arm on the ground to hold his balance. More slithered from alleyways as they noticed its burned brother, different shapes and sizes. They seemed to be a majority of fire, for whatever reason. Wasure felt one climb the building next to him, and threw a second veil of illusion over him, rendering the puffin invisible to any onlookers. Focusing, his figment spoke.

"I suggest a tactical retreat." The Samurai's voice feigned injury. He was interested in playing this scenario out, to see what the apparent humans could do.

The stranger went to attack the mysterious creature. He did it in an odd way, disappearing and reappearing. He was certainly using magic, there was no question about it, but it was unlike any magic that the siblings had seen before (though their range was very limited). Just when the duo thought that the creature had been slain, it blasted the stranger with flames, leaving him burned.

"Huh," Sicarius said, astonished. "That looked like something out of a cartoon. Except real and what appears to be really painful. But, it was kind of funny." He didn't seem too phased by the sudden violence, however he took a step back when more creatures appear, protectively keeping Mana behind him.

"I'm not going to run from a bunch of lizards," the blue haired youth said, rolling his eyes. He held out his arms and two short swords formed out of ice. They were crudely sculpted, though the edges were fine and they could definitely slice through flesh and bone. They began to crackle with electricity.

Mana stayed behind her older brother. She didn't want to rely on him, but she wasn't good at using magic yet and it seemed like getting close to those things would hurt a lot. She liked punching things more, but it seemed as though that wouldn't work out very well in this situation. Instead, she formed a small, ice dagger, similar to her brother's weapons, and held it against her chest.

Zeferoth watched the scene play out from the roof top. He felt like he shouldn't get involved. This was not his fight nor did he owe anything to these people. He got up to look around some more when something behind the girl caught his attention. Another lizard was making its way to them. It was much bigger than the one that the samurai defeated earlier and was much heavier armored. It was about the size of a pony and aggressive. It started making its way behind the girl hissing angrily.

Zeferoth ran down the side of the building and focused gravity into his right hand after extending the claws. He felt himself slowing down from the increase gravitational force around his hand. The neck base of the neck of the lizard was vulnerable he will need to hit it here. He jumped quietly and flipped over the children. As he summersaulted His blades caught the creatures neck. The blade went through the creatures flesh and bone. The head flew several feet past the three as the body fell into a heap of stone.

Zeferoth straightened keeping his back turned to the three. He didn't want anyone to see that he was a heartless, but unfortunately for him, in the back of his armor was a large heartless symbol. This one was different than usual. It had two broken key blades behind the heartless symbol and a small set of scales in the foreground. He remained silent his attention still out incase more came from that direction.

Interesting... The avian Memory thought as he saw ice bend to Sicarius' will, Wasure still shrouded behind a cloak of protective magic. The Samurai illusion stood from his knelt position still appearing badly burned. Perhaps theatrics might scare away my kin, to avoid a terrible strain. And then this lovely duo might carry me off world..

The Samurai illusion spoke in a tongue not native to Twilight Town, as if inciting some exotic power. "悪魔リリース || Akuma Rirīsu!"

The burns on the Samurai's body started to bubble like a wicked brew of a witch's stew, a purple color starting to be apparent from his veins. His hair began to fall out, revealing a clean scalp that slowly started to melt away into his form, revealing a skull. The illusion began coughing profusely, spitting up blood that sizzled away once the liquid hit the ground. His teeth began to sharpen as every muscle group tightened and pulled against the other as the gruesome transformation continued.

That should be enough... perhaps. The bird thought as he was hardly strained by the demonstration. The Samurai was cloaked in a dark flame that concealed his form, which dispelled a moment later to reveal that the illusion was healed, with some differences. Scales littered its body in lieu of skin and wings shot out from his shoulder blades, tattered and leathery like a bat's. His hair was gone, and the gray scales jutted up a bit in place of his old hair. Amber eyes replaced his old, tame ones, and claws protruded from his hands. A small grunt escaped his demonic form before he shimmered, almost there but halfway gone, blurred details composing his features. One of these shimmering images appeared by four of the neartestlizards, claws extending.

"同時にギロチン || Same-time Guillotine! The roar escaped his lips as the images ripped downwards, reaching into the guts of the creatures and causing them to explode, much like the first. As soon as they began to ignite, the images faltered and the Demon illusion became whole again, no longer flickering. The small explosions had tore into the buildings, a bit, but overall the numbers of lizards only increased.

"I feel as if this is your last chance to run- They're coming from the back!" The  bird snapped its head to the right as its demonic illusion growled speech, noticing Lizards come from the building and clearing around them, with Zeferoth joining the fray. The Memories began to surround the quartet. Wasure could get them out of there, but it would have to be soon before-

"SKREEEEEEECH!"

The sound pierced through the bird's thoughts and the air around them, an inch of fear allowed to enter his forgetful heart. Whatever it was, it sounded very, very large and very, very powerful. The lizards, hearing this sound, seemed to stop in recognition, cocking their heads to the right as if trying to hear sounds and avoid predators. Then, slowly, the crept closer, reading to envelop their prey. They wanted the Illusion, too, for he was projecting a normal heart at the moment. If he dropped the illusion, they would probably just believe him to be hiding, the same if Wasure shrouded the others. How was he supposed to get out of here if everyone died?

Another person joined the apparent fight, with snow white hair. He came from above and took out a creature who was approaching Mana from behind. "Did he just fucking run down the side of the building?" Sicarius muttered under his breath in disbelief. Another one approached and Sicarius quickly took action. He sliced through the creature, cutting the flesh and frying the nerves with his lightning powered ice swords.

More and more creatures appeared and started to close in on the group of four. Where were they all coming from? Sicarius returned to Mana, his swords still drawn. He had to think. How would they get out of this one? They could just slashin' and blastin', but who would give out first? And then there was a screech that filled the air. It was loud and all consuming. It sounded dangerous, even more so than these things.

Mana looked around, absorbing the situation and the various outcomes and possibilities. Four people, three of them seemed to be capable fighters. Mana herself was very inexperienced, while Sicarius was only a bit better. The white haired one and the one that disappeared a lot seemed to be more powerful, considerably. They were all capable of using magic.

"Everybody should use magic that is capable to attacking every one of these things at once," Mana said. She didn't shout or anything, but she spoke loud enough for everybody to hear. "If we all attack at once, it should be enough to at least immobilize these things. And then we can get away, or we can risk dying or something if we stay."

Sicarius nodded, agreeing with his sister's suggesting. The swords in his hands crumbled and dissolved. Sicarius would be lending his concentration on another attack. Above them, spikes of ice started to form. Each were thin and about the length of the average broadsword, and very sharp. Like his short swords he had created, the spikes crackled with electricity. More and more appeared, matching the amount of creatures there were and doubling that. Tripling. Quadruplicating.

Re: Great yet Subtle Change (Open)

Post by Karahito on June 12th 2014, 9:58 am

The ear-piercing scream of a child shattered the calm afternoon of our small home the day I noticed the change that began to morph her. I had been knocked to the ground, and was staring up at the shameless grin my sister bore. There was blood covering her hand where she inflicted a wound upon herself shortly before screaming; some of it had smeered her face and... my favorite toy. Our mother was  to arrive, running to her side at the sight of the bleeding. It wasn't the fact that I was ignored that shocked me, but how easily her tears persuaded them of all this being my fault.

"S-Seren-nity... hurt m-me," she cried, her words coming out chocked and choppy as she toddled forward to bury her face in our mother's chest. "Sh-She tried to take my t-toy and hurt me."

At that point our father came in, his eyes wide in shock and fury. He marched right over to me and grabbed me by the wrist, pulling me to my feet. I could he his rage, but deep in his eyes there was a sort of hurt. "Why!? Why did you do that to Felicity?" He tugged my arm so that I was facing my sister. Her tear-stained face was partially hidden behind Mother's shoulder as her hair was stroked.

"Bu-But papa! I didn't do anything! That toy is mine. She took it after she broke hers," I looked at him, tears of my own welling up in the corners of my eyes. I remember... feeling desperate at that time. For my parents to believe me, for the lies and rage to dissipate, for someone... anyone... to take my side. But, as things would turn out, they didn't, it didn't, and no one would.

She sighed, attempting to push back the memories that had risen once again. Opening eyes that had been closed, Karahito let her eyes drop to her feet. There had been far to many occasions where she debated deleting the memory clean out of its existence. But time and time again she opted to keep it, despite how it haunted her. It was an important memory that dictated who she would become when she grew up, and who she was at that day. There was no escaping the harsh truth.

From where she sat atop the sun-kissed buildings, there wasn't much she couldn't see. People came and went, more going than coming the further the sun fell in the sky. But the colors that setting sun left in the sky was a sight to behold, beautiful no matter how many times her eyes seen it. Sitting on a rooftop's ledge within the world's Market Street, there wasn't much that she couldn't see. And the activity she did see upset her somewhat. Or perhaps it was just a burning curiosity? Regardless, the shadows that skittered across the walls of one of the allies had caught her attention. Typically, she would have ignored such happenings, but the sight of people in distress caught her attention.

Sighing again, she hoisted herself from her seat on the roof and stood to her feet. In seconds, Karahito was before the ally's entrance, landing on her feet with a graceful leap. In either of her hands were her short blades, coated in a thin layer of sound magic. A gentle breeze followed her and several of the Memories at the rear of the group were dispatched, cut clean in two before exploding. That wasn't what she was expecting at all... Hopefully she'd be able to assist the group before the situation worsened. She flinched, however, at the crippling sound of the screech that echoed throughout the area.

Great... She grumbled to herself, her displeasure displayed clearly on her face. What the hell was that? She turned her attention to a blue-hair woman in the fray, listening to her suggestion though never taking her eyes off the Memories. A mob control attack, hm? Didn't seem like a bad tactic... Placing the blade in her right hand back into its sheath, Karahito raised her empty hand to the sky and quickly cast a spell of her own.

"Mind if I lend a hand?" She looked to Sicarius with a grin. Above each of the man's sharp ice swords hovered a supplemental sound wave, contorting the air where they were. The intent was, with the man's permission, to give the ice a little more added speed as they fell. Upon making contact with the Memories or the ground, sound waves would explode themselves and rebound upwards, taking with them the heat of the explosions as she slowed the air's molecular rate and thus dispersing some of the heat. It would take careful timing and concentration to get the maneuver to respond accordingly, but hopefully it would be enough to allow them to escape. Granted, any shrapnel would still be sent flying, but that wasn't the main concern at the moment.

They still haven't accepted the offer to retreat... How will I ever get out of here. Wasure thought, not even acknowledging the Lizards as a threat. Maintaining the demon illusion was already starting to impact his reserves, with all of these complex glammers. Perhaps it was time for a break.

"I'll be back soon; I need to go find something." The scaled Samurai would say in a grumble, his dimensions folding unto themselves. And then, he was gone, as if he portalled. This would allow the bird to rest before any real noticeable depletion of his reserves happened, and to allow the worms time to eat and get bored of this place, much like Wasure was. The fletchling would wait until the time was perfect, re-appear as a savior, and stow-a-way his way to the next world.

Standing atop a building in the center of the town, Xern was walking along the roofs, eating a pastry, while he saw signs of combat, which was not unusual to Xern. He looks around trying to find a place to hide to observe the  fighters, and if needed, or if he saw a opportunity stop the fight, wither by eliminating one of them, or by walking up and forcing them to stop by other means. As he went to hide, after finding a good place to dissappear from view, he saw a girl who joined the battle, useing sound as a weapon, interesting. Xern quickly hides behind a AC unit, and examines the damage on all the fighters. The blue hair group was in a interesting shape but not hurt. The other man disappeared before he could examine him further. When the man disappeared, Xern would creep to the edge of the building, to hopefully not be seen, and will try to climb down.

Zeferoth continued to hold off the memories from the back seeing the boy conjuring a bunch of ice swords. A woman arrived as the man vanished again. Great that showed how reliable he was. Zeferoth had an idea. He didn't see any of these things near the lab maybe it was safe there.

"Hey! take out the ones immediately around us, I know a place we might be safe." He shouted over the battle. He focused his power in his hands again as more came to attack them. He will wait until the boy unleashed his attack to make their was to the lab NOW! he shouted clearing the way as he started running.

It seemed ANOTHER person fell from above. "Jeez," Sicarius said out loud to everybody around him, "is there this new trend of jumping off of rooftops that I'm just not informed about?" He was mouthing off in a situation that probably wasn't the most appropriate, but he couldn't it. He liked saying what he wanted, no matter what situation he was in. The only place where he held his tongue was his parents funeral.

But, despite his remarks, he didn't not want their help. He nodded at the newcomer with a smirk, silently accepting her help. And then the mysterious poofy guy went up and poofed away. What a load of help he was. "He started this mess and now he's just goin' to run away? Lousy lowlife," he muttered as he continued to keep his focus on creating more spears.

The white haired dude said he had an exit strategy and signaled for him to release his attack, which he did. Several dozens of spears (perhaps hundreds?) flew forward, hitting all of the fiery creatures. They were each charged with an electrical blast that would further stun them. He grabbed Mana's hand and and went to grab the newcomer's wrist and ran after the white haired man.

Zeferoth lead them through the streets the way he had came. The magic in his hands were slowing him down, but that allowed them to stay with him as he ran and cut down the few lizards that still remained in their way. They where soon out of the town and at the edge of the forest. Zeferoth took the time to slow down and scan the area just in case more were waiting to ambush them.

Stay on your toes. He said as he slowly went into the forest muffling his body movement as he entered.

At the white-haired man's cue, Karahito simultaneously released her attack with Sicarius'. She didn't even have the chance to gauge the effectiveness of their combined effort before her wrist was grabbed and she was towed away. Her eyes widened for a moment before her face contorted into one of discontent.

"Hey! I got two feet and a pair of eyes, ya know. I can walk on my own," she was looking at a head of blue hair as she spoke, noting their direction an thinking of any "safe place" that might be ahead.

It wasn't until the sudden change of scenery that she understood. It wasn't often that she found herself in the the greenery of the forest, for she hardly ever seen the place as having any use, but for the moment she'd just have to deal with it.

Turning her eyes to Zeferoth as he gave his warning. He seemed to take the front, walking further into the forest. Looking upwards, Karahito decided her course of action. Her forte rest in the less honest, shadowy tactics.

I'll be scouting up head, but I'll be within ear-shot. If you need me just call," she said, readying her muscles to jump. "B-But don't think I'm doing this for you or anything! I just don't want anyone dying... or whatever...

Turning away, Karahito set of for the cover of the trees and went ahead. Not too far from them sat a few small squads of Memories, no more than three groups of three of four. Further ahead, a final group of five was stationed before the mansion's gate. None of them seemed to be in any hurry or state of alarm, which panned out for the group making their way towards the mansion. She pondered to herself if these creatures could be silently assassinated, but with their explosive nature she chose to avoid that action.

Back tracking, Karahito made her way back to report her findings and see what was going on.

Sicarius rolled his eyes when the girl complained. Mana chuckled, though was content being led by Sicarius herself. They ran into the forest behind the crack in the wall. Were they going to go hide in the old, abandoned mansion. Mana had heard stories about it being haunted, though Sicarius usually dismissed those rumors whenever Mana talked to him about it. Besides, it seemed like it'd be better to deal with a bunch of ghosts than these weird things that seemed to invade their town.

With the girl gone now, Sicarius created a broadsword of ice, though unlike before, it wasn't imbued with electricity. Sicarius wasn't the most adept at magic yet, though he was more experienced than the average person, so the earlier attack had taken a bit out of him. However, he could still fight, which was good, because as they neared the gates to the mansion, there were more of those fiery monsters.

"This day just keeps getting better and better," Sicarius complained as he stopped before them. He let go of Mana, who held her ice dagger in front of her, and eyed the enemies in front of him. "Maybe if I stab them really, really hard, they won't explode."

After Xern successfully scales down the wall, he sees the small group run, great they must have thought he was a enemy, this is why he perfered to be in the shadows. Chasing the group down, they reached the forest, a great place to hide in for him. He would quickly climb a tree, and the parkour after them, useing his skills he acquired during his mercenary jobs to chase them, he eventually lands on a near by tree at a opening. There in the clearing where two of the three he fallowed, and there where fiery creatures that seemed to be guarding a Manson of sorts. The girl said something about the things exploding. He looks at her weapons, trying to figure out what type of weapon it was. As he did this he was building up his mana, into his right hand, forming a ball of ice, when he figures out she's wielding a knife, Xern shakes his head, he then jumps from the tree, landing a few feet from the two of them, rolling as he lands, crushing the orb into shards he wills the shards to fling them selves at the fiery creatures, each shard, there being a dozen different shards, they all fling themselves evenly at the creatures. As this happens, Xern pulls out a note pad and writes down on it quickly.

The note pad says:Quickly run to where you where heading, I'll blow these things to bits if I can, but just keep running, and don't ask me anything, I am doing this so I don't see any one die, and because I am not here to kill anyone.

Zeferoth was about to attack the man that rolled in out of no where. He stopped his attack once he started attacking the creatures. He wasn't going to ask any question even without his note pad saying not to. He just nodded keeping his mask on the lower part of his face. He motioned for the group to fallow him west of the mansion to where the secret entrance to the underground lab was. He found it quickly and opened sliding trap door ushering everyone in.

Inside quickly. He said in a quiet yet stern voice.

Karahito had seen the sudden appearance of the new body and had quickly move to defend the people below. Though as fate would have it, the man was attacking the Memories, also offering his assistance. From where she hid in the trees she wasn't able to read the words of the note pad, it intrigued her but the answer would have to wait til later. It seems their new friend had bought them some time, a currency at the moment that would not last long.

Trailing behind them, then finally regrouped with the growing cast of characters in the clearing before the mansion's gates. Within, the white-haired man motioned for them into a small trapdoor. She thought it sketchy at first, and the uncertainty of what lay inside left a funny feeling in her stomach. Now was not the time for doubts, however, and so Karahito jumped feet-first into the opening. Moving out of the way, she looked up to the sky above and waited for the next person to join her.

It seemed as though everybody wanted in on this adventure today, as another person joined the fray. Some guy who jumped down from the trees (which are like the rooftops of the forest), magic blazing. He quickly wrote something down for them to read. "You could have easily said that out loud," Sicarius yelled at the stranger, following the white haired man. "Who writes in the middle of a fight, anyways?"

The white haired guy led them to a secret trap door. Sicarius looked at it and then back to the man. "How did you know about this? I've lived here my entire life and I didn't know there was a frickin' trapdoor," he complained before jumping in.

He landed gracefully in a crouch. He stood and brushed himself off, giving a wink at the girl who had jumped down first. He opened his mouth to say what was probably something suave, Mana jumped down and landed on him. Sicarius was sprawled on the ground with Mana standing on his back.

"Thanks for helping me out, though I coulda landed fine by myself," she said, looking down at her brother with slight concern.

"Yeah, well, you know me. Super helpful," he grunted out, obviously in pain. Mana stepped off of him and helped him up and move him out of the way, so the white haired guy could jump on in as well.

Once the children were inside Zeferoth jumped in after them. The trap door closed behind him leaving them in pitch black darkness for a few seconds. The lab's emergency lights kicked. They cast a dim light that cast dark shadows on the piles of rubble around them. Zeferoth took the lead again leading them down the long hall. This hall was one of many emergency escape halls leading out of the lab. It was a little ironic to be using it as an emergency entrance.

After a few minutes of walking, the group arrived at a large circular room. Tables and chairs littered the floor though few managed to stay standing after years of neglect. Most of the cushions have disintegrated with time. More light poured in from above from a skylight that somehow remained intact.

This is a good place to rest. Just don't wonder off. I don't know what all this lab has hidden. He walked to a nearby wall and sat down on the hard tiled floor. He kept one leg straight and the other bent crossing his arms and closing his eyes.
