How best to utilize the shop or not utilize it to best serve in the rping experience.  Currently as shown in the spoiler below the shop/munny system utilizes using both ooc and ic rewards for the expenditure of munny earned from events, trades, and static increases from rp posts.  I have my own opinions on how I would like to see this change to better suit us as users and rpers but I would like to hear everyone else's opinions and points.  There is also the clear cut option of dropping the system as well as its implications but for now let's hear everyone's opinions and ideas.

Title Picture - 150MU:
Purchase of this item will allow a picture to be added to an already existing title.
Name Change - 250MU:
If your character changed his or her name or wants to go by an alias, you can purchase Name Change to change your username along with it. It can only be changed once per purchase.
Tournament Pass - 300MU:
Allows you to add an extra slot to a category of your choice (Weapon, Ability, or Equipment) for one tournament.
New Title - 375MU:
If you want your character to take on a title, such as Yima, the Oncoming Storm, you can be given one if you purchase once. You can purchase this again to change it.
New Title with Picture - 500MU:
Allows new/changed title with a picture of your choice, as long as it is a reasonable size.
Tournament Slot - 500MU:
Allows you to add an extra slot to a category of your choice (Weapon, Ability, or Equipment) for tournaments.
New Character (One Use) - 1000MU:
If purchased, you are allowed to make a new character. However, you cannot replace a character if you want a new one. This means if you purchase one, you will have five characters. If you decide to get rid of a character, your maximum amount of characters allowed will still be four. You will have to purchase a New Character to make a new one.
Character Slot Upgrade - 1525MU:
If purchased, you are allowed to upgrade a non-slotted character to a slotted character.
New Character (Slot) - 2500MU:
If purchased, it increases the maximum amount of characters you are allowed to use at one time, permanently. This means that if you purchase one, the maximum amount of characters you are allowed is five. If you make five characters and choose to get rid of one, you can make another without purchasing anything else.
City Defense NPC (World Leader Only)  - 3750MU:
Once purchased, allows the world leader to add one defense NPC of their own design to their world defense. If destroyed, it is destroyed forever and cannot be replaced unless purchased again.
City Defense NPC Slot (World Leader Only)  - 5000MU:
Once purchased, allows the world leader to add one defense NPC of their own design to their world defense. If destroyed, it can be replaced or restored in the next topic.
City Expansion - 7500MU:
Allows you to build a building of your choice in any world, as long as you have the world leader's permission. If the chosen world has no leader, you do not need permission. However, if there is a new world leader in either situation, he or she can choose to tear it down, but only if they personally refund you for it.
World Expansion - 12500MU:
With the permission of the world leader (if there is one), you are allowed to build an entire area on a world. Such examples are a city, an underground base, and so on.

I personally feel that as it stands right now, it's kinda useless. A lot of people use it for a "reward" style feeling, but there aren't many useful rewards for it. (Imagine going to a game place where you receive tickets as a reward. The prizes are a cheap toy car for 50 tickets, or a real life limo for 50,000 tickets, but those are your only two options). I know Etz is against this, but I'd personally like to see it implemented in more of an IC way, considering we already do that to a sense (For example, I can buy a really powerful weapon IC that affects my character IC with OoC munny). I think it should just be overhauled to have a more clear understanding on it, maybe opening up a few opportunities for it to be used. Not necessarily gotten rid of though.

I personally enjoy the shop, I was actaully trying to use it not to long ago and still am.

I like it, I also like the fact that it makes the will rp even more on members. I would think though that an increased amount of munny per post would be handy though.

Like instead of 5 per post it could be 10 or 15.

That would make it a little easier imo. But I would really like to hear your ideas Yima, figuring they are probably thought through and alot more sufficient.

The things we can remove is everything from City Defense NPC down, but most importantly City and World exapnsions. The NPC defenses could be bought so we don't BS uber-powerful defenses but these are for IC development reasons. If we use the same effort that we have for restoration, we can earn the last few things without the need for MU. Also, I feel that effort into building things or expanding the world seems a lot better than magically appearing expansions. If you want it to be difficult for the sake of avoiding outrageous expansions, you could cut the prices and require a mandatory IC process. Like dropping CE to maybe like 3-4000 MU and WE to 6-7500 MU

Why would anyone choose to buy something IC when they can RP it out? They can even take the lazy way and post once saying they found it, which gives them the item and 5 munny, opposed to losing munny for the item.

The issue with that system is that it either has no value or we start limiting abilities based on when someone has enough to buy them. If it's the latter, it's just a different form of an approval system.

If that's what the site wants, then I'm all for it, but we shouldn't half ass it and try to play it off as something it's not. We either implement an approval system or we don't. We either trust the members or we don't.

We also shouldn't have a system that affects both OOC and IC. If we were to implement the aforementioned IC system, it should be separate from the OOC system.
