Both contestants would enter the Mirage Arena. The participants would enter at the same time in their respective platforms through means of their own such as portalling or means of the special transporter which placed them there the battle would begin whenever the participants chose to fight. The moment all participants entered the monotone voice of a female would come over and announce, “Begin”.

In the Mirage Arena stood a young girl of no more than nine years old, a scythe much larger than her sheathed on her back and a hood resembling a bunny over her head. This child was none other than Emilia Moon----and happened to be one of the contestants in the tournament.

A determined look was in her eyes as she strived to make her family proud and beat all the odds that came her way. There was a smile on her face and behind her slammed shut the corridor of darkness that she had used to enter the arena. Upon looking forwards she would spot her opponent, a kitty that she had fought before at Destiny Islands before Snuggles passed away. "Hi kitty!" She cried out in her cheerful tone, unsheathing her scythe and waving at him as she awaited her opponent to make the first move.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Yo, little bunny!

The cat-boy stood in the Mirage Arena with a smile on his face as he faced his new opponent. After winning his battle against Kia, Mohon had been taken to the Arena's medical team, and because of their proficiency in healing magic, his body was left as good as new. After everything was said and done, he used the remaining minutes before his match to investigate a little about his next opponent... and he was visibly surprised when he recognized the name.

Emilia, the dangerous little girl that had burned down an entire island for the sake of "saving" the people living on it. His memories of their encounter weren't pretty, to say the least, and Mohon was still a little scared of what she was capable to do.

However, now is a good opportunity to beat some sense into her head.

When the signal to begin the fight was given, Mohon took his usual fighting stance: in his right hand his rapier, The Flash, pointed directly at his opponent, and his left hand behind his back, both to not get in the way and to offer The Flash space to move.

Searching through his memories, Mohon remembered what the little girl was capable of doing. Other than summoning that giant stuffed rabbit of hers', Emilia could shoot multi-colored orbs that exploded upon impact as well as cast a protective barrier around herself. She was probably capable of doing more than that, but that was still an useful amount of information.

She has a scythe... Scythes were relatively hard to control, but if she looked so confident with something like that on her hands, Emilia had to know how to use it well. Let's test that first. Mohon dashed at the little girl, using his tremendous speed to diminish the distance between the two in a second, and then slashed his rapier at her left flank, hoping to see how fast she really was with that scythe.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

The fight had begun now and Mohon took off speeding towards her, the girl's eyes looking to the rapier in his hands and focusing on it. She would begin to float off the ground a few inches in the air and she would quickly fly to the opposite side away from it upon seeing it come forwards; her scythe not weighing her down in the slightest. The cat's rapier would only hit thin air as a result and would be launched forwards in motion that would give Emilia a chance to strike.

Without a second to waste the girl would continue flying towards her scythe and in doing so would swing her scythe horizontally on course straight for the right ear of the cat with the intent to slice it off. With the rapier already in course and going in the opposite direction it would be difficult to block the attack using it, if not down right impossible for the cat to do as the scythe threatened to stain itself with his blood.

Emilia would toss her scythe up into the air afterwards and would fire out a rainbow colored orb at his right foot with hopes of blowing it clean off. Should she be successful she would then catch the scythe and fly forwards with it aiming downwards straight at the cat's right eye in hopes of stabbing straight into it. Alternatively, if the orb didn't strike, she would fly backwards instead and would land to the ground a few feet away from Mohon with her blue eyes carefully watching him.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Mohon on January 25th 2014, 10:56 pm

The cat's first slash was a "test" strike of sorts. The idea was to see how fast Emilia's reaction speed was and how well she used her scythe, expecting the blade to be stopped or avoided. So when Emilia literally flew away from his reach, Mohon was only surprised at the fact that she was able to fly, and not that she had moved away unharmed. And because he expected things to proceed as such, he was also prepared to stop his blade on time to block any type of counter-attack. Even more, rapiers were weapons made to quickly change directions and to attack from different angles in fast succession, and someone who had mastered the weapon like Mohon would have much trouble doing something like that.

The attack came from his right side. Mohon's blade had slashed to the left. Even though he stopped his rapier quickly enough, reaching the scythe in time still required him to use as much strength and speed as he could muster in that moment.

Once he deflected the scythe, Mohon would jump backwards just in time to avoid getting his foot blow off by the rainbow colored orb. He had already seen the attack and what it could do before, so just seeing the energy gathering in the scythe was enough to tell him what was coming.

Now it was his turn to counter. The very same moment the rainbow orb hit the ground and Emilia flew backwards, Mohon would jump forwards and would dash towards the girl, reaching her at the same time that her feet landed on the ground. He would first slash his rapier vertically from above. No matter what happened, Mohon would quickly draw his sword back and slash from his left flank, followed by a slash from the right and finally a thrust to the middle of her chest. With fast and consecutive attacks Mohon planned to block most of her escape routes and tire her down as much as he could.

Speed was his main strength after all. He wouldn't be defeated if it came to speed.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Emilia on January 25th 2014, 11:21 pm

At the sight of Mohon jumping into the air another orb would be shot forwards towards the ground near him while he came in for a landing and would explode once his feet neared it in another attempt to blow them clean off. This would most likely end up interrupting his course of attack and could potentially prove dangerous to avoid.

In the case that he avoided it or it failed in its intent for another reason and that he carried through with his attacks, Emilia would wait for him to close in before responding to the rapier by firing out another orb at it as it came downwards vertically. The orb would explode without further adieu and would threaten to blow part of the blade right off in another burst of colors. A barrier would appear in front of Emilia herself to protect her from the blast afterwards and after the orb exploded it would be dismissed only for the girl to seize the moment and strike, interrupting him before he could attack again. Her scythe would fly forwards with the intent to cut his right arm clean off, which would be followed up by swinging it downwards at his left shoulder in an attempt to sink the weapon straight into it.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Mohon on January 26th 2014, 1:14 pm

How annoying...

The orb suddenly came at him as he was about to land on the ground. Mohon had no other choice but to stop his planned sequence of attacks and slash his rapier vertically at that very same moment while concentrating magical energy on the blade, sending an arc of condensed electricity towards the orb, making it explode before time, barely saving him from having his feet blown off.

He approached the girl with his rapier still pointed at her but without the intention of attacking. The girl would send another orb of energy at Mohon, but as the cat-boy was expecting to be attacked, he jumped back in time to avoid the explosion unharmed. Emilia had formed a barrier around her body, protecting her from her own spell.

Ok, time to fall back.

The cat-boy wouldn't continue his attack and would instead jump back a couple of times, separating himself from Emilia by a large number of feet. The Vorpal Bunny's scythe would find only air where the cat was supposed to be. Mohon would proceed to start running in circles around the little girl at a moderate speed, keeping his eyes on her at all times. The distance was enough to let him predict any incoming attacks and act accordingly to protect himself.

Now, to review: her weapon is a large scythe, larger than her own body, but for some reason she seems to be able to handle it with ease. She's either using a spell to make it weight a lot less or it's actually made from an extremely light material. In other words, she can swing it around as if it was a stick while keeping the same properties of a scythe... but she's just swinging it around without much technique, so I can be sure complex movements won't come. She probably can't add more strength to it than her arms allow her, so that's a plus.

Other than that, she can fly around at high speeds, allowing her to avoid my attacks easily, and she can shoot her orbs by just concentrating, without needing to use an incantation or tool. And there's also that barrier, which can protect her from her own explosions as well as external attacks. With this, I think I've grasped all her basic abilities... and I must say, this battle looks tricky.

The cat boy sighs. This is where not being good at magic comes to bite me in the ass. It was difficult to get near, as Emilia's orbs would definitely be on his way, and the Vorpal Bunny would use the opportunity to slash at him with her scythe. However, even if he was safe from a distance, he had only one long-range spell, and it wasn't too powerful, at least not enough to break through her barrier in a single try.

Well, it's not as if there weren't any other methods to win, but... He sighed again. What a pain.

The cat-boy would continue running in circles around Emilia, waiting for her next action.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Emilia on January 26th 2014, 2:20 pm

As Mohon avoided both orbs and her incoming attacks, the girl would look around the arena in confusion for a few seconds wondering where he had gone before spotting him circling around her. It seemed to the girl that he was gaining momentum for an incoming attack or was taking a defensive approach for the time being. Whatever the case, her gut told her that trying to attack him was a bad idea and she would put her trust in it as she instead chose to play the waiting game against the cat.

Two barriers would now appear all around Emilia to defend against any potential attacks he planned on doing. Two would appear in front of her, two more behind her, two to each of her sides, and two above her. This meant that he'd have to penetrate through two layers of the durable barriers if he planned on attacking her anytime soon with all directions covered and would allow Emilia to take a defensive approach like he was.

The girl would take a seat on the ground afterwards and would begin resting in the midst of battle considering how she had nothing else to do within the situation. With the barriers protecting her she wouldn't have to worry about any danger for the moment; or at least that's what she thought.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Mohon on January 26th 2014, 2:51 pm

The little girl stopped on her tracks and placed several barriers all around her to defend against attacks from every direction. She had probably felt something was wrong and had decided to go into the defensive.

But it all worked pretty well for Mohon. The cat-boy didn't care what she did as long as she did something. The fact that she had created such a high number of barriers actually allowed him to test out a few more things before the fight got too heated up.

The cat would concentrate a small amount of energy inside his blade and would swing it in Emilia's direction, just like the last time, sending an arch of condensed electrical energy at one of her barriers. The spell was called Thundara Strike, a fast thunder-based spell that could deal a moderate amount of damage to the enemy with a direct hit. Mohon mostly used it to counter other middle-level spells, such as Emilia's rainbow orbs, but it was also perfect to attack from a distance if he didn't want to risk himself just yet.

The spell would hit one of the barriers, the one at Emilia's back. He would continue circling around her and would cast the spell again, this time aimed at the girl's right side. Mohon made sure to concentrate more energy into his second attack, making it slightly more powerful. He'd repeat the process when aiming to the barrier in front of Emilia, again with more power than the last Thundara Strike.

The cat-boy was testing the barrier's endurance. His aim wasn't to destroy them but to see how much damage each strike dealt to them. He knew exactly how strong his spell was compared to a blow from his sword, so he wanted to use it as reference to know if he really could break through them or not.

He'd stop with the third strike and would simply continue circling around Emilia, waiting to see how she reacted.

Emilia would nonchalantly sit behind the barriers as Mohon fired his strikes. Even if he did penetrate them she figured that she could just create more and that as a result it wasn't a problem. The lightning slashes themselves would each slam into the barriers but no visible damage would actually appear after them. While it had actually done damage it wouldn't appear to the naked eye that they had; let alone did the actual reality of the damage come close to breaking through them.

The cat went back to circling the girl afterwards but would receive no response from Emilia. She simply continued to rest within the barriers, humming various nursery rhymes to herself as she fiddled around with the handle of her scythe.

The barriers showed no signs of damage. Even if there was actually some damage done to them, it probably wouldn't actually show. That was fine. He was just making sure that they were strong enough to not be broken by his Thundara Strike. The cat-boy was now certain that he needed much more than his normal strength to go through that shield.

Mohon lowered his pace, from running to walking, still circling around Emilia. Even if he could keep himself running for a long time, it was no good if he got tired. Walking would be enough to react in time to her attacks, if any ever came.

I suppose I'll just stick to the plan for now. He nodded to himself. No use getting impatient. I just need to wait for the right time.

The cat-boy would just walk. As long as he walked, he'd slowly recover the energy he had just used with his Thundara Strikes, and everything would be alright if he did.

Emilia would simply continue to wait as she had done before behind the barriers, sitting there and recovering her stamina with a relaxed expression on her face. This would continue for a few minutes before she suddenly sprung back into action. In just a matter of seconds the barriers had each been dismissed and the girl would launch off towards Mohon; flying towards him at high speeds out of nowhere.

Barriers would now begin to appear once more but at a far lesser degree. The barriers would appear by the cat's own sides and behind him as well in hopes of bettering the chance to strike him. They would block off these specific directions and would require the cat to maneuver around them if he wished to escape via those paths. A few seconds after they appeared three rainbow orbs would be fired out at him, two closing in on him from diagonal directions and one going forwards at him in a linear path, all of them going towards his torso.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Mohon on January 28th 2014, 5:42 pm

When the barriers around Emilia disappeared, Mohon prepared his sword again for battle. He kept it fixed on Emilia as the barriers appeared behind and his sides. The cat-boy considered for a second trying to jump above them; if he used enough leg strength, he would probably manage. However, if Emilia took notice of that, she could easily fly to him as he was still in mid-air and attack him with her scythe... which would be no good, not to mention that it wasn't the most efficient way to carry out his plan.

He decided on a frontal approach to the matter: when the orbs approached, Mohon stepped back as much as he could and waited for them to as near to each other as possible. They were apparently all aimed to the same part of his body, which worked wonders in this particular opportunity. Once the three had lined up in front of him, Mohon slashed his rapier sideways, sending another arc of condensed electricity (Thundara Strike) at them.

The three orbs would explode upon colliding with the spell... and the cat-boy wasn't willing to waste a single moment after it. He dashed through the multi-colored remains created by the orbs and rushed at Emilia, using those very same remains as cover to reach her before she could notice.

A single thrust to the middle of her chest, using the speed he had gained while running to make it all the more dangerous. If Emilia fixed her eyes on the sword, she'd notice that it was now coated with electricity, which would not only make it quicker when moving, but it'd also transmit electricity to Emilia's body if she dared to block the blow. Though the first blow would just itch, with enough contact the effect would increase enough to numb her hands.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Emilia on January 29th 2014, 4:08 pm

Mohon now charged through the rainbow bursts left behind by the explosion of the orbs as Emilia found herself unable to avoid his next attack completely; even with her high agility. That didn't mean things would go directly the way the cat had intended however.

Another rainbow colored orb would be fired outwards, this time at a very small distance as he neared her chest with his blade. It was fired out at his head and would reach it only in a few seconds. To physically avoid it, Mohon would likely need to completely abort out of his assault on the girl. Even if he did he'd still have to worry about fighting back against the kinetic energy he had gained and would probably need to be ready to react on such a short notice.

Still, if he continued his assault on her she'd end up being struck by the blade. It would end up sinking into her flesh and would easily cut through it as a shock coursed through her entire body. A yelp would emerge from the girl's lips and she would fall out of the air with tears streaming down her face; demonstrating her low tolerance to pain for her opponent to see. She'd barely manage to raise a barrier in time to shield herself from the blast of the orb and would slowly stumble back up to her feet with tears still streaming down her eyes; the young girl sobbing to herself and taking off running away from Mohon before he could use the moment to strike against her again.

Assuming he had instead vouched to flee from the explosion and hadn't found a way to carry through with his attack, Emilia would instead fly backwards away from the explosion without a tear shed as she carefully watched her opponent while awaiting for his next assault.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Mohon on January 29th 2014, 10:58 pm

Mohon had just a few seconds to react to the incoming rainbow orb. In order to completely stop on his tracks, he'd have to completely nulify the kinetic energy he had gained, which would require a great deal of effort and leg strength that he probably didn't have. Not only that, but he'd also need to jump away in time to avoid the explosion, which would certainly be an impossible feat considering he just had a few seconds to do it.

So instead of doing that, the cat-boy took a different approach to the matter: if he couldn't go back, he just needed to keep moving forwards. To get his head out of the way, Mohon bended his body backwards and slightly changed the direction of his movement to slide through the ground, passing by Emilia's left side and avoiding the rainbow orb at the same time. Though he had to cancel his previous attack, he'd use the opportunity to slash Emilia's right side with his blade as best as he could. Even if he succeeded, it'd be just a cut and not the severe wound he expected to make with his previous plan.

Unfortunately, he had gained too much speed. Once he passed Emilia, he couldn't stop his body in time, and he ended up rolling through the ground, hitting his head hard in the process. Once he stopped and regained his stance, he'd feel dizzy for a few seconds, precious seconds that Emilia could easily take advantage of.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Emilia on January 30th 2014, 7:06 pm

Mohon's success in avoiding the orb without withdrawing came as a shocker to Emilia---whom hadn't expected things to play out that way. The girl would try to avoid the incoming blade but would be unable to as a small cut found itself across her flesh, the child biting down on her quivering lip and doing her best to ignore the pain.

Emilia's eyes would now drift over to the cat and upon seeing the opening she would take it. She would come flying in at high speeds and would be already within swinging range of him within less than a few seconds----seizing the opportunity to strike. Barriers would appear all around them and would block off any method of escaping without penetrating through them first, Emilia now swinging her scythe downwards at the arm that held the cat's blade in an attempt to cut it off. This would result in both a loss of a limb and a disarming of the cat's weapon, leaving him wide open for another strike. Regardless of whether things played out as planned however, she would take that potential strike and would swing at the other arm in hopes of slicing it off like she planned to do with the last one. The lack of arms to wield either weapon would only make the fight more tricky for the cat----if it didn't flat-out crush any hope of winning the fight.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Post by Mohon on January 31st 2014, 3:58 pm

It took Mohon a moment to recognize what appeared all around him as Emilia's barriers. Once he did, he had already been pushed to a difficult situation. The hit on his head was still messing up with his senses, the scythe coming at him looking like two ferocious blades instead of one. But it was nothing; nothing, at least compared to being pummeled down by his master's fists.

The cat-boy pushed his right arm forwards, the blade cutting through the air in order to reach the scythe. Emilia's weapon would fall back for a second, only to fall again on the cat's left arm. In order to compensate for the agility needed to protect himself again, Mohon sacrificed the grip he had on the rapier's handle. Once the two weapons clashed, Mohon saw how his rapier slipped from his hands and flew through the air, hitting the barrier behind him and then falling to the ground.

Now you've done it, little girl.

In a battle like that, one couldn't differentiate between gender and age. If the other party was trying to cut his limbs and take his life, Mohon had no other choice but to be serious about it.

His right hand went down to the scabbard that hanged from the left side of the cat's belt. He gripped the hilt of the other and then unsheathed it, slashing diagonally at the girl right in front of him at the same time.

It was a sword, but not any sword. The weapon was a soulsword, a special type of blade that was made through the use of a human soul. The soul belonged to a man named Kintaro, a person who had once been known around the Land of Dragons as a master swordsman, trained by Shinzo of Gales himself. It now made the essence of a blade that held the power of a thunderstorm inside. Though without saying the soulsword "true name" Mohon couldn't call forth that type of destructive power, part of it would still be present after it was unsheathed.

Destructive power, increased speed, a single diagonal slash that would be much more dangerous than anything Mohon had done so far. His advantage didn't only lie in his unexpected power boost, but also in how they were trapped inside Emilia's barriers. She could probably dispel them at will... but it wouldn't be an instantaneous action. Mohon would use the brief moment she needed to perform the action to his advantage.

In response to Mohon's diagonal slash, Emilia would yank her scythe out of Mohon's shoulder, going flying backwards from the force it had taken and barely managing to block the slash. Her scythe would go flying once the blade struck it but with it blocked the girl would dismiss the barriers around them and catch her scythe as she now flew backwards. Instead of coming in for another assault, Emilia would proceed to rest and recover some stamina while anticipating the cat's next attack.

But no rest would be allowed, at least not while Kintaro was still active in the battlefield.

The Cat would dash forwards at the same time that Emilia flew backwards. Because of that, the distance that separated the two grew by just a mere foot or two. If she really thought that she could "rest" during a battle just like that, she was wrong. Last time had been special because of Mohon's strategy... but now, he wasn't willing to give her even a second to breathe.

His blade coated in electricity, Mohon thrust his blade forwards at the same time the girl got the thought of "resting". He calculated the trajectory of the blow so that the blade would make a cut at the right side of her stomach. That'd be enough to incapacitate a child her age without putting her life in danger...

...but making sure of it was even more important. Combining Kintaro's enhanced speed with his own skill at the use of a sword and Mohon's enhanced eyesight (for being half-feline), the Cat would draw back his sword and thrust it forwards again with so much fluidity that it'd look as if the blade was dancing in his hands, one with its user, repeating the same action as before, but this time directed at Emilia's left side.

And he wouldn't stop there: right shoulder, left shoulder, left arm, right arm... he'd keep striking at her young skin while keeping in mind to make the blows non-lethal while concentrating on transmitting electric shockwaves from Kintaro to her body in order to numb each and every place where she was cut.

And if she tried to fly again to escape? It wouldn't work, or at least not in its entirety; for the Cat had been getting closer and closer to her with each strike, to the point that even if she flew backwards, she'd still be in his blade's reach for a second.

And a second was everything he needed to win.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

Emilia, despite her magical abilities, was still a child.

With the weapon of destruction in the cat's hand and her low tolerance to pain, she didn't stand a chance. The cut itself would land and suddenly her face would flash in agony. A yelp would escape from her lips and she would weakly raise her scythe to block the next strike only for it to knock the weapon out of her quivering hands. One strike after another would find its mark and the young girl would begin sobbing within just a few strikes. Given the pain was numbed by the electricity but even those few seconds of pain was hell for her and the blows struck in different places each time. She tried to power through... With her weak heart she tried to ignore the pain. It was simply too much for the young girl though. Even if she hadn't given up, she would have lost the match anyways.

"S-Stop!" Her voice would call out to the cat on his mere fourth strike; bitter tears streaming down her face as she raised her hands up to signify surrender. The young girl would look up at the cat with terrified eyes and would weakly fall backwards in the case that the strike had stopped. At this moment it would become clear that she had given up, recognizing her loss.

With her forfeit, Mohon had successfully bested Emilia. The brave and honorable cat had successfully beaten a nine year old girl down to tears. That would look nice on his résumé, indeed it would. And now that the author of this post had stopped trying to make Mohon feel guilty in a vain attempt to be funny, the cat could proceed on with the next match and Emilia could go get healed.

Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon Empty Re: Round 1B: Mohon vs. Emilia : Winner Mohon

The cat would stop his sword after seeing the terrified face of the girl. It was only then that he noticed that he had gone too far: even if she had murdered people and had tried to take his life countless times, she was still a nine years old girl. The fact weighted on his heart, as he tried to mutter an apology as the little girl ran away.

Mohon would remain depressed for at least a few days after the event. And the author of this post would curse Emilia's author, as he had successfully made both the cat and owner feel bad about what happened.

...but a second later, he (author) stopped caring, celebrated his victory and prepared himself to fight and write against their next opponents.
